Lightbulb The Christmas Conspiracy

Saturnalia was an ancient Roman festival in honor of the deity Saturn originally held December 17 and later expanded with festivities through December 23. The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn in the Roman Forum and a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying, and a carnival atmosphere that overturned Roman social norms: gambling was permitted, and masters provided table service for their slaves...

Of course, this newspaper report is a marketing gimmick by that particular Obedience and does not at all represent recognized Freemasonry. Becoming a Freemason is meant to be a serious personal choice, made of one's own free will and accord after careful consideration, and is also meant to be a serious choice for the Lodge after interview and consideration, so it's inherently unsuitable for membership to be a gift from someone else, and especially if (as appears to be the case) it can be a gift from someone who is not already a Freemason. Thus it is transparently an "improper solicitation" and therefore irregular and as this particular Obedience (mixed membership) are already completely irregular, and not actually Freemasons at all so far as orthodox Brethren are concerned, so perhaps we should not be too surprised that they evidently do not care about this additional irregularity.

Regardless of its regularity, the "giving away" of membership cheapens the experience and one probably won't prize their membership as much.

Please explain what you mean by side branch and not of F&A Freemasonry.

What is the point of these photos they have nothing to do with the topic. It is pointless all these photo clips appearing on various threads that are just a distraction for the poster having nothing of value to post or say. If fact it is hijacking the thread and I am not sure why the mods tolerate it all the time.

Lightbulb Pork Bellies Going Down

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, make the Yuletide gay...
I thought the thread was about christmas,I Mustafa misread the thread title, silly me
Christmas (Old English: Crīstesm├Žsse, meaning "Christ's Mass") is an annual commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and a widely observed holiday, celebrated generally on December 25 by billions of people around the world...

Quote:
Remember
This December,
That love weighs more than gold!

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,
for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away
like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.
The good you do for others is good you do yourself...

The worst gift is a fruitcake. There is only one fruitcake in the entire world, and people keep sending it to each other.
