Default This is horrific, nervous disposition (stay away)

Spare a thought for this lorry driver who found himself at the centre of a beer spill of epic proportions - and gave new meaning to the phrase 'one for the road'.

A river of beer flowed for several hundreds metres down this German motorway after a juggernaut crashed, spilling 25 tons of crates on to the road.

Thousands of bottles of Beck's - which has the promotional slogan of Unmistakable German craftsmanship - smashed as the vehicle's entire load was catapulted on to the road surface in Wernigerode, Sachsen Anhalt.

Reminds me of when I was a child and a bakers lorry crashed spilling all of its cakes onto the A4 road and the subway in Slough. Becks is my favourite lager. Although I prefer it in Cans to bottles.

Reminds me of a few years ago when one poor youngster got an Xmas job driving a delivery lorry. He crashed it just after Orly airport and all the onlookers raided his cargo of teddy bears leaving the guy trapped in the driver's cabin.

I remember that happened around here once, but the truck fell over into a river. People were picking up cases hundreds of miles down! Nice day to go for a float. But in the case, hope the driver's okay.

Quote:
The first consumer protection law ever written was enacted over beer by Duke Wilhelm IV of Bavaria in 1516. It was a purity law limiting the ingredients of beer to barley, hops and water.

Bavaria still defines beer as a staple food.

Edit:

Quote:
In May 1988, a European Court of Justice ruling led to the Reinheitsgebot being lifted, allowing ingredients beyond what was listed in the Biersteuergesetz; this meant that anything allowed in other foods was thus also allowed in beer. The lifting of the Biergesetz, however, only concerns imported beer. Beer brewed in Germany still has to abide to it.

Since then, beer gives increasingly headache.
Do you guys now believe that the EUSSR is pure evil?
