50 police officers arrested in child porn raids

Fifty police officers across the UK have been arrested as part of a crackdown on suspected paedophiles who pay to access child pornography websites, detectives revealed today.

The officers were among 1,300 people arrested on suspicion of accessing or downloading indecent images of children - some as young as five - from US-based Internet sites.

Thirty-five men were arrested in London this morning as part of the investigation - codenamed Operation Ore - following raids on 45 addresses across the capital.

Grem is this not tied to operation Ore a few years ago? The name is similar.

When Brown and Blair got it hushed up because so many insiders were on the list?

Truly sickening, glad they caught the monsters.

Unfortunately this is probably only the tip of the iceberg.

Who can you trust these days?

In my opinion, one has to be a deranged idiot to want to be a cop.
This news does not surprise me, but confirms my complete distrust
of cops in general.
Stupid hypocrites.

that seems to be a high percentage of policeman.....it would be interesting to see how that relates to other professions.
I've got to say my respect/trust in the police has gone past the point , where i now see them as a predominantly dangerous and evil force....there is of course decent ones who do a good job but collectively they are not a force for good:

Deleted files get pushed deeper into hard drive, so yes, they can be recovered.

I don't suppose anybody thought of arresting the creators of the website where the stuff came from?

I skim the DM every day ( sometimes twice a day ) and my wife reads it from front to back. Neither of us saw this piece.

yet another nail in the coffin for those english traditions of justice, and fair play! clicked on that guys link about labour 25 and its utterly gobsmacking - thought i was clued up but obviously am not - msm tricks us all the while by focusing on individual cases - rather than linking them all together as labour 25 site has done - when viewed in isolation yes paedophillia is sick but its just one person - when you view it as a collective or someone helpfully lists all the instances you see the wider picture and you have to think the labour party is utterly rotten to the core - my reasoning? simple - they have covered up and therefore condoned it - dunno about you but if i knew a work colleague was a kiddie fiddler - i wouldnt be prepared to work with them - end of - its such a sick crime so far removed from all other crime - they are are almost subhuman or non human in my eyes. great post bealeti

Being a cop now is almost about simply joining a gang in which gives you power.

These guys signed up to be cops so their dirty deeds would go unpunished.

I can't help but think there's something not quite right about this.

It just seems strange that so many police would all of a sudden be tied into child porn. Not just the odd one or two but 50 all at the same time.

Were they going against the system?

Were they dirty cops who used these pictures to frame other people with and got caught with it? (which has been mentioned before, rreeve spoke of this)

Maybe it is true and they've been watched for sometime, why not pull them in as soon as it was known? Surely cops know the usual channels of catching such people so why did they get caught?

I would guess this article dates from 1999 - the time of Ore (Check the Page Source)

Deeper into the hard drive? All that happens when you delete something is the computer forgets where it is, until the blocks are erased with other data, the data is still there, it's just the file allocation table has been erased.

You are right only the new data is just written over the top of previous data, this doesn't actually erase it, there will actually still be bits of old data remaining in between the new bits.

This is why proper secure erasing writes random data many times over the same place to fully erase previous data.
