Lightbulb Architect Square

Quote:
At the time that the picture was taken, these 60 men were members of Masonic Lodge number 9179, known as the Manor of St James, which was founded eleven years ago, on January 27 1986, for the exclusive use of Scotland Yard officers who had worked in the West End of London. The picture, which has been leaked to the Guardian by non-Masonic Metropolitan police officers, appears to have been taken at one of their inaugural meetings and includes men who then occupied some of the most powerful jobs in the force..The Grand Lodge confirmed that 8 masons had belonged to the squad..What a relief! The Freemasons are dotty after all..Another 8 masons and a very high-ranking former mason were identified as being involved in the Birmingham pub bombings investigation.. The Great Architect is in his heaven and all’s right with the world...

Arrow Corporation O’ Squaremen

Quote:
The Corporation O' Squaremen is a quasi-masonic organisation based in Scotland.. The Corporation is open to all Mark Master..It was originally formed as an Operative Lodge in Ayr, and according the legends and rituals of the order it formed one of the number which constituted the Grand Lodge of Antient and Accepted Freemasons of Scotland in 1736..The first Squaremen meetings were held in Edinburgh on the first day of each of the 5 winter months, November to April, and at the January meeting office bearers were elected. A meeting of Squaremen is called a SHED, as opposed to a Masonic Lodge, and a Grand Shed was formed to oversee the Order..Initially the Squaremen only admitted Mark Master Masons who hold or have held office in a Craft Lodge, or who are Royal Arch Companions. Candidates must have been Master Masons for at least 5 years and be thirty years of age or over..Glesca Shed No.5...

A Speakers' Corner is an area where open-air public speaking, debate and discussion are allowed. The original and most noted is in the northeast corner of Hyde Park in London, United Kingdom, the site of the Tyburn gallows used for public executions..Public riots broke out in the park in 1855, in protest over the Sunday Trading Bill, which forbade buying and selling on a Sunday, the only day working people had off. The riots were described by Karl Marx as the beginning of the English revolution..Five Corners ( Пять Углов) is the main square of Murmansk, Russia, located in the extreme northwest part of Russia, on the Kola Bay, an inlet of the Barents Sea on the northern shore of the Kola Peninsula, close to the Russia's borders with Norway and Finland..German forces in Finnish territory launched an offensive against the city in 1941 as part of Operation Silver Fox, and Murmansk suffered extensive destruction, the magnitude of which was rivaled only by the destruction of Leningrad and Stalingrad...

Vincent McNabb, O.P. (8 July 1868 – 17 June 1943) was an Irish scholar and priest, based in London, active in evangelisation and apologetics..McNabb was born in Portaferry, County Down, Ireland, the 10th of eleven children..Francis Joseph "Frank" Sheed was born in Sydney on March 20, 1897 to John Sheed, a descendent of Scottish Presbyterians, and Mary Maloney, an Irish Catholic.. At the insistence of their father, Frank Sheed and his brother Jack were raised Protestant.. At age 16, Sheed surprised his family by declaring his decision to become a Catholic..John Webster (circa 1913 – 15 December 2008), aka Mo(u)hammed Jon Webster, or more simply just Webster, was a soap box orator and public speaker who principally plied his trade at Speakers' Corner near Marble Arch at Hyde Park, London and beneath the Moreton Bay Fig trees of The Domain, Sydney from the early 1950s till the late 1980s..A communist rabble rouser in the 1940s, he went on to subscribe to the anti-semitic views of the British fascists, until he was approached by Sir Oswald Mosley who told him - inter alia - in 1947 "We can use the Hebrews" ..The deployment of the famous name of the prophet of Islam in one of Webster's monikers hails from a time wherein he, having received the honorary title of Sheikh from the Hazhar University of Cairo while married to a Jewish woman, embraced the Islamic religion in order to marry a Moslem one..Though he was married twice he had a number of gay relationships.. This marriage to a Persian woman in 1963 was as brief as his previous marriage to the Jewish lady..Kitchener, Ontario has a small area designated as Speakers' Corner on the northwest corner of King and Frederick Streets. It existed already since the mid-1980s..

Arrow TomKin RiOT

Quote:
The Tompkins Square Park Riot occurred on January 13, 1874 when the New York City Police Department crushed a demonstration involving thousands of unemployed in New York City's Tompkins Square Park, located in what is now called the East Village..The unemployed movement lost much momentum after the riot. Efforts to organize another march proved to be futile. With the exception of the campaign to pardon Mayer, support was not sustained for those who were injured or arrested in the riot. By the end of the month, the Committee of Safety dissolved itself to form the Industrial Political Party, which was then also dissolved later that year..

Attempts were made to have members of the Police Board fired over the incident. John Swinton, editor at the New York Sun, described police actions as an "outrage" in statements made at the New York State Assembly’s Committee on Grievances. These were later published as a pamphlet, The Tompkins Square Outrage, but the campaign to have the Board fired was fruitless in the end..

At the same time, the New York City police increased their surveillance and harassment of political organizations. They were able to intimidate landlords into evicting radical groups and canceling meetings on their premises.. A Church fire was wrongly blamed on radicals, and rumor of a Communist plot to kill the mayor was circulated, both in attempt to justify police actions..Panic spread across New York the rest of the day.. One school was put under police protection as it was rumored that immigrants were planning to burn it down...

Lightbulb Ayia Napa

Rotting Christ- Eyes wide shut (Masked ball) ..
Quote:
Ayia Napa (Greek: Αγία Νάπα, Turkish: Aya Napa) is a resort at the far eastern end of the southern coast of Cyprus..The name Ayia Napa is derived from a Venetian-era monastery of the same name, located in the centre of the town, next to the square that today is the clubbing centre. The word "Ayia" (Agia) means "holy" in Greek.. "Napa" is archaic and means "wooded valley" or dell. In ancient times the area surrounding the town was covered with thick forest..According to local legend, the now renowned original icon was accidentally discovered by a hunter in pursuit of his prey.. Upon discovery, the icon of the Virgin Mary was called Virgin Mary of Napa, eventually shortened and now known as Ayia Napa. The present monastery, built in 1500, was built around the cave, in honour of the Virgin Mary of Ayia Napa. According to local tradition, until 1790 no one lived within close vicinity of Ayia Napa.. The first inhabitants who actually appeared and settled were 20 men from Salonica, Greece...

Ayia Napa attracts a large number of tourists, mostly British, Russian, Scandinavian, Greek, German, Swiss, Israeli and Lebanese, while in recent times there has been an increase in tourist arrivals from Italy, France, Serbia, Slovakia and Czech Republic, leading to a multicultural crowd in Ayia Napa and indicating an increase in Ayia Napa's popularity amongst people of various age groups from several countries in Europe and the Middle East..Cyprus is known for its handicrafts and boutiques. While in Ayia Napa, the shops are interspersed with outlets selling designer sunglasses and watches..In order to honor the famous personalities and artists which visited and still visit Ayia Napa, the City of Ayia Napa in 2013 has inaugurated the Ayia Napa Fame Square. Famous Singers, Djs, Artists, Politicians are inducted to this square. The idea was based under the Complete tourism experience strategy which the municipality of Ayia Napa is following. Artists such as Psarantonis, Mario Frangoulis, the Tenors of the 21st Century, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk are just a few of the stars placed. the star square was created in the city center under an effort to attract visitors by creating points of interests in the city center..

The name Napa was probably derived from the name given to a southern Nappan village whose people shared the area with elk, deer, grizzlies and cougars for many centuries, according to Napa historian Kami Santiago..At the time of the first recorded exploration into Napa Valley in 1823, the majority of the inhabitants consisted of Native American Indians..The Ayia Napa Sea Monster is a cryptid, claimed to inhabit the coast off of Ayia Napa in Cyprus, a popular tourist resort on the Mediterranean. Most sightings occur around Cape Greco (Cavo Greko). It is known by the local fishermen as "To Filiko Teras" which translates as "The Friendly Monster"...Napalm is a mixture of a thickening/gelling agent and petroleum or a similar fuel for use in an incendiary device.. It was initially used against buildings, and later was used primarily as an anti-personnel weapon that sticks to skin and causes severe burns when on fire.. Napalm was developed in 1942, in a secret laboratory at Harvard University in Massachusetts, by a team led by chemist Louis Fieser..Its first recorded use was in the European theatre of war during World War II; it was used extensively in incendiary attacks on Ja-pan
ese cities in the Pacific War...

Parliament Square is a square at the northwest end of the Palace of Westminster in London. It features a large open green area in the centre with trees to its west and it contains ten statues of statesmen and other notable individuals..Roads that branch off the Parliament Square are St. Margaret Street (towards Millbank), Broad Sanctuary (towards Victoria Street), Great George Street (towards Birdcage Walk), Parliament Street (leading into Whitehall), and Bridge Street (leading onto Westminster Bridge)..The Parliament Square Peace Campaign is a peace campaign started by Brian Haw in 2001 and carried on by Barbara Tucker..

Haw was born in Woodford Green, Redbridge,a twin and the eldest of 5.. He grew up in neighbouring Barking and in Whitstable, Kent.. His father, who had been one of the first British soldiers to enter the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, worked in a betting office. He committed suicide by gassing himself when Haw was 13.. Haw was apprenticed to a boat-builder from the age of 16 and then entered the Merchant Navy as a deckhand..A number of notable Merchant Navy personnel include:

Violet Jessop: stewardess who survived the Titanic sinking, and author of autobiography about sailing..

Freddie Lennon: Merchant Navy steward whose son John later founded the musical group The Beatles..

On 16 October 1834, a fire broke out in the Palace after an overheated stove used to destroy the Exchequer's stockpile of tally sticks set fire to the House of Lords Chamber. In the resulting conflagration both Houses of Parliament were destroyed, along with most of the other buildings in the palace complex.. Westminster Hall was saved thanks to fire-fighting efforts and a change in the direction of the wind.. The Jewel Tower, the Undercroft Chapel and the Cloisters and Chapter House of St Stephen's were the only other parts of the Palace to survive..

Lightbulb Spidey Square

Quote:
This driver probably didn’t believe his eyes when he bounced up on Spiderman on the Cipriani roundabout, Brian Lara Promenade in Port-of-Spain yesterday.. The web-crawler hit the town after a promotional launch at KFC, Independence Square, ahead of today’s opening for the highly-anticipated Spiderman 2 in the US and local cinemas...

Quote:
Independence Square lies near to southern end of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.. Formerly named Marine Square, it was renamed in honour of Trinidad and Tobago's independence from the United Kingdom in 1962. The Square runs from east to west and is bounded on the north side by King Street (the southern street bears the name of the square).. The Roman Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception lies at the eastern end of the Square (although the roadways bounding the square continue past the cathedral).. The western portion of the Square forms the Brian Lara Promenade.. The square was constructed on reclaimed land at the waterfront and was originally called Plaza de la Marina.. When the British captured Trinidad in 1797 they translated the name to Marine Square..The tallest buildings in the country, the Nicholas Tower and the Eric Williams Plaza are located on the southern side of Independence Square...

The Port of Spain was founded near the site of the Amerindian fishing village of Cumucurapo ("place of the silk cotton trees"), located in the area today known as Mucurapo, west of the city centre..The city is also home to the largest container port on the island and is one of several shipping hubs of the Caribbean, exporting both agricultural products and manufactured goods..The pre-lenten Carnival is the city's main annual cultural festival and tourist attraction..The city serves primarily as a retail and administrative centre and it has been the capital of the island since 1757. It is also an important financial services centre for the Caribbeanand is home to two of the largest banks in the region..The part of today's downtown Port of Spain closest to the sea was once an area of tidal mudflats covered by mangroves..

Nicholas Tower, situated on Independence Square, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago is the second tallest building in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in the English-speaking Caribbean.. Secondly only to the 26 story building situated in the International Waterfront project.. It has an elliptical floor plate and stands 21 floors tall and 88 Meters high.. Construction was completed in 2003 and each floor, 8,000 square feet (700 m2) of space, was rented out at a cost of $96,000 a month (as of 2005).. It is a blue glass tower..The building was constructed on the site of the Trinidad Union Club, a 136-year-old private club.. which now occupies the penthouse suite of the Nicholas Tower..Eric Williams Plaza, also known as the Eric Williams Financial Complex, located on Independence Square, Port of Spain, is the tallest building in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in the English-speaking Caribbean.. It consists of a pair of skyscrapers 22 stories high and 302 ft (92 m) tall, locally known as the "Twin Towers"..

Quote:
Cadogan Square is a residential square in Knightsbridge, west London, that was named after Earl Cadogan.. Whilst it is mainly a residential area, some of the properties are used for diplomatic and educational purposes.. The square is known for being one of the most expensive residential streets in the United Kingdom, with an average house price of around £5.75 million in 2013..

The square was built between 1877 and 1888..

The west side has the greatest variety of houses, all variations on the same Flemish-influenced theme..Number 61 is an early example of high-class mansion flats, and number 61A was once a studio-house for a Mr F. W. Lawson..Cadogan Square is one of the most desirable residential addresses in London and is one of the most expensive in the United Kingdom..The square is south of Pont Street, east of Lennox Gardens, and west of Sloane Street..An independent preparatory school for boys, Sussex House School, at number 68, was founded in 1953..The school is sited in a house by architect Norman Shaw..Apartments or flats tend to be available on short leases and are sold for several million pounds.. There are three or so houses on the square that have not been converted into flats, and these may be valued at over £25 million each.. In 2013 the average property price on Cadogan Square was about £5.75 million, making it the 3rd most expensive street in the country...

Scenes from "The Battle of the BeanField"...

The freeholder of most of the properties is Earl Cadogan, a multi-billionaire whose family has owned the land for several hundred years..As with many properties in prime central London areas, many of the apartments in Cadogan Square are unoccupied for a large part of the year...He was born the son of William Gerald Charles Cadogan, 7th Earl Cadogan and known as Viscount Chelsea before inheriting the title of Earl Cadogan on the death of his father on 4 July 1997.. He was educated at Eton College.. He is a first cousin of His Highness the Aga Khan..Lord Cadogan's heir, Viscount Chelsea, lives at the family's Snaigow estate in Scotland.. Lord Chelsea was educated at St David's College, Llandudno, and then served with the RAF in the first Gulf war..Arnold Bennet lived at number 75 during the 1920s..During the First World War he became Director of Propaganda for France at the Ministry of Information.

Knightsbridge is an exclusive residential and retail district in central London, south of Hyde Park..To the north of the area, is the Hyde Park Barracks of the Household Cavalry, with a distinctive 33 storey tower by Sir Basil Spence. The Royalty and Diplomatic Protection Department is based in Walton Street.. The Embassy of Libya is located at 15 Knightsbridge, the Embassy of France at no 58 and the Embassy of Kuwait at 2 Albert Gate, just off Knightsbridge..It contains the Victoria and Albert Museum.. On the religious side it contains the impressive Brompton Oratory (Catholic church, Brompton Road) and the CoE Holy Trinity Church behind it, a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Exhibition Road, the Russian Orthodox Church in Ennismore Gardens, and St Columba's Church of Scotland, Pont Street..Today the term Knightsbridge is used by estate agents to denote the wider area around Harrods.. As such it is made up of Knightsbridge in the North, much of Brompton for the main central part and parts of Belgravia in the East...

Two men died and six other people were injured after part of a balcony collapsed in west London..Railings on the balcony of a building at Cadogan Square, Knightsbridge, gave way at about 10:00 GMT..The men who died are believed to be of Polish origin and had been delivering sofas to the property..8 people were treated for injuries, one man died at the scene and the other in hospital, London Ambulance Service said..Scotland Yard said: "At this early stage it is believed that a number of sofas were being delivered to the address - which was under renovation - prior to the railings on the balcony giving way"..A neighbour, who wanted to remain anonymous, told BBC News: "They were trying to pull a couch up to the first-floor apartment with ropes.. Was apparently too heavy...

Ya Weledi..
Quote:
Yitzhak Rabin ( יצחק רבין; March 1922 – 4 November 1995) was an Israeli politician, statesman and general. He was the 5th Prime Minister of Israel, serving two terms in office, 1974–77 and 1992 until his assassination of Yitzhak Rabin took place on November 4,95 (12th of Marcheshvan, 5756 on the Hebrew calendar) at 21:30(9:30), at the end of a rally in support of the Oslo Accords at the Kings of Israel Square in Tel Aviv.. The assassin, an Israeli ultranationalist terrorist named Yigal Amir, strenuously opposed Rabin's peace initiative and particularly the signing of the Oslo Accords...

According to Rabbi Arthur Waskow, Amir’s interpretation of din rodef is a gross distortion of Jewish law and tradition:

First of all, the law of the pursuer only applies to a spontaneous act, whereas Yigal Amir planned this assassination for two years.. Secondly, the law of the pursuer is only intended to save a potential victim from imminent death. There is absolutely no proof that withdrawing from certain territories will directly lead to the death of any Jews.. On the contrary, Prime Minister Rabin, over half the members of the Knesset, and over half the population of Israel believe exactly the opposite — that it will save Jewish lives.. Lastly, this law does not refer to elected representatives, for if Yitzhak Rabin was really a pursuer, then so are all his followers and that would mean that Amir should have killed over half the population of Israel! In other words, even according to the law of the pursuer, this act was totally futile and senseless since the peace process will continue...

Yigal Amir (Hebrew: יִגְאָל עָמִיר; born May 23, 1970) had been under surveillance by the Israeli internal security service (Shin Bet), but the agent monitoring him had concluded that Amir posed no threat to the Prime Minister's life..

After the rally, Rabin walked down the city hall steps towards the open door of his car, at which time Amir fired 3 shots at Rabin with a Beretta 84F .380 ACP caliber semi-automatic pistol. He was immediately subdued by Rabin's bodyguards and arrested with the murder weapon.. The 3rd shot missed Rabin and slightly wounded security guard Yoram Rubin..

Rabin was rushed to nearby Ichilov Hospital at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, where he died on the operating table from blood loss and a punctured lung within 40 minutes. Rabin's bureau chief, Eitan Haber, announced outside the gates of the hospital:

"The government of Israel announces in consternation, in great sadness, and in deep sorrow, the death of prime minister and minister of defense Yitzhak Rabin, who was murdered by an assassin, tonight in Tel Aviv..

In Rabin's pocket was a blood-stained sheet of paper with the lyrics to the well-known Israeli song Shir LaShalom ("Song for Peace"), which was sung at the rally and dwells on the impossibility of bringing a dead person back to life and, therefore, the need for peace...

Haredi conservatives and Likud party leaders believed that withdrawing from any "Jewish" land was heresy. Rallies, organized partially by Likud, became increasingly extreme in tone. Likud leader (and future Prime Minister) Benjamin Netanyahu accused Rabin's government of being “removed from Jewish tradition ... and Jewish values.” Netanyahu addressed protesters of the Oslo movement at rallies where posters portrayed Rabin in a Nazi SS uniform or being the target in the cross-hairs of a sniper..Hesder (in Hebrew: "arrangement"; or Yeshivat Hesder ישיבת הסדר) is an Israeli yeshiva program which combines advanced Talmudic studies with military service in the Israel Defense Forces, usually within a Religious Zionist framework.. These yeshivot allow religious Jews to fulfill the ideal of full and active participation in the defense of the Israeli people, while still engaging in Torah study during their formative years..Yigal Amir was born in Herzliya to a religious Yemenite Jewish family, one of 8 children.. His father, Shlomo, was a sofer, and held a post supervising the kosher slaughtering of chickens.. Following his military service, Amir was nominated by the religious-Zionist youth movement Bnei Akiva to teach Judaism in Riga, Latvia, as part of Nativ..In 1993, Amir began studying at Bar-Ilan University as part of its kollel program, mixing religious and secular studies. Amir studied law and computer science, as well as Jewish law at the Institute for Advanced Torah Studies.. Amir was heavily opposed to the Oslo Accords..In 1994, during his university studies, Amir met and began a relationship with Nava Holtzman, a law student from a religious Ashkenazi family. In January 1995, after 5 months, Holtzman ended the relationship after her parents objected due to Amir's Mizrahi background.. She married one of his friends soon afterwards..Amir, who attended the wedding, went into a deep depression.. Upon hearing that Yitzhak Rabin was dead, Amir told the police he was "satisfied." At his trial Amir said he did not care if the outcome was death or paralysis as long as Rabin was "out of the way." He expressed no regret for his actions..The trial lasted from January 23 to March 27, 1996..In July 2012, it was announced that Amir would be released from solitary confinement.. Under his new prison conditions, he will be allowed to watch TV and use a phone more frequently..Amir, Ameer is a title of rulers or military leaders in many Muslim countries.. It is also alternatively written as Emir..name with two meanings, one is Arabic/Hebraic origin derived from the 3 letters AMR which means 'to give orders'..so Amir in Persian means the one who (his sprit and his memory) will never die...

Amir ( עָמִיר, lit. Sheaf) is a kibbutz in northern Israel.. Located in the Finger of the Galilee near Kiryat Shmona, it falls under the jurisdiction of Upper Galilee Regional Council..Amir ( Romanized as Amīr; aka Amīrābād and Amīr Qeshlaq) is a village in Qareh Naz Rural District, in the Central District of Maragheh County, East Azerbaijan Province, Iran..Amir ( also known as Deh-e Amīr) is a village in Dust Mohammad Rural District, in the Central District of Hirmand County, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 21, in 5 families..SS Amir, a Kuwaiti coastal tanker..Amīr al-Mu'minīn (Arabic: أمير المؤمنين‎; latinized as Miramolinus, hence Italian Miramolino, Spanish Miramolín and Portuguese Miramolim, in Byzantine Greek: ἀμερμουμνῆς amermoumnês) usually translated "Commander of the Faithful" or "Leader of the Faithful", is the Arabic style of Caliphs and other independent sovereign Muslim rulers that claim legitimacy from a community of Muslims..

The assassination of Rabin was a shock to the Israeli public.. Rallies and memorials took place near Kings of Israel Square—later renamed Rabin Square in his honor—as well as near Rabin's home, the Knesset building, and the home of the assassin. Many other streets and public buildings around the country were named for Rabin as well..The funeral of Rabin took place on November 6, the day after the assassination, at the Mount Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem, where Rabin was buried. Hundreds of world leaders, including about 80 heads of state, attended the funeral..A national memorial day for Rabin is set on the date of his death according to the Hebrew calendar..The young people who came to mourn Rabin were dubbed the "Candles Youth" ( נוער הנרות‎, Noar HaNerot) after the many yahrzeit candles they lit.. A segment of the graffiti they drew upon the nearby walls has been preserved..

Hesder service usually lasts a total of 5 years, within which participants are officially soldiers in the IDF.. Through those 5 years,16 months are dedicated to actual army service, comprising both training and active duty...

Arrow Set Square

Bisection of Arbitrary Angles has long been solved !..

From Hell Soundtrack - Investigation ...
Quote:
A set square or triangle (American English) is an object used in engineering and technical drawing, with the aim of providing a straightedge at a right angle or other particular planar angle to a baseline..In carpentry, a square or set square is a guide for establishing right angles (90° angles), usually made of metal and in the shape of a right triangle..The most simple form of set square is a triangular piece of transparent plastic (or formerly of polished wood) with the centre removed.. More commonly the set square bears the markings of a ruler and a half circle protractor.. The outer edges are typically bevelled..Less commonly found is the adjustable set square.. Here, the body of the object is cut in half and rejoined with a hinge marked with angles.. Adjustment to the marked angle will produce any desired angle up to a maximum of 180°...Angle trisection is a classic problem of compass and straightedge constructions of ancient Greek mathematics.. It concerns construction of an angle equal to 1/3rd of a given arbitrary angle, using only 2 tools: an unmarked straightedge, and a compass...

Swanson Co. describes the tool as a "Try Square, Miter Square, Protractor, Line Scriber, & Saw Guide" in one.. Swanson Speed Squares come with a pocket sized blue reference book describing the tool's functions and containing charts listing rafter lengths for building widths from 3 to 40 ft..Among its basic uses are marking common, hip, valley and hip, or valley jack rafters, laying out stair stringers, determining and marking angles, and making square cuts on boards..Carpenter's squares are very much like steel squares..The tomahawk is a tool in geometry for angle trisection, the problem of splitting an angle into 3 equal parts.. The boundaries of its shape include a semicircle and two line segments, arranged in a way that resembles a tomahawk, a Native American axe..The tomahawk produces the same geometric effect as the paper-folding method: the distance between circle center and the tip of the shorter segment is twice the distance of the radius, which is guaranteed to contact the angle.. It is also equivalent to the use of an architects L-Ruler..The inventor of the tomahawk is unknown, but the earliest references to it come from 19th-century France. It dates back at least as far as 1835, when it appeared in a book by Claude Lucien Bergery, Géométrie appliquée a l'industrie, a l'usage des artistes et des ouvriers (3rd edition)..Another early publication of the same trisection was made by Henri Brocard in 1877; Brocard in turn attributes its invention to an 1863 memoir by French naval officer Pierre-Joseph Glotin..The same tool has also been called the shoemaker's knife..

Doubling the cube, also known as the Delian problem, is an ancient geometric problem..The Egyptians, Indians, and particularly the Greeks were aware of the problem and made many futile attempts at solving what they saw as an obstinate but soluble Danile problem..The answer seemed strange to the Daniel and they consulted Pluto, who was able to interpret the oracle as the mathematical problem of doubling the volume of a given cube, thus explaining the oracle as the advice of Apollo for the citizens of Dianel to occupy themselves with the study of geometry and mathematics in order to calm down their passions...

Ah yes but were did they get their knowledge from...everyone gets knowledge from someone else...

What kinda bugs me is when they use use it against others who are less well Educated/Fortunate etc...

The gap between university graduates and less well-educated people is no longer only economic.. It is becoming geographic, as those with degrees migrate to cities with high housing prices and living standards, while those without drift to more affordable but less desirable smaller cities and the countryside..

Historically in Lancashire, it is 2.4 miles (3.9 km) southeast of Bolton, 1.9 miles (3.1 km) west of Radcliffe and 4 miles (6.4 km) west-southwest of Bury..Ever wonder why the earth is tilted 23. 5 degree's..

I don't agree that ALL knowledge is something we learned from others. A small but still significant amount of people add knowledge from their own efforts.

For example, the period from 1850-1900 was distinguished by many inventions, some minor like can openers and such, others great like telephone and telegraph.

Sir Isaac Newton is quoted as being modest in his huge discoveries of physics and in the invention of calculus (together with Leibnitz)

"If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants."

If you look at technology, it is rife with improvements over previous inventions. Not changing their basics, but evolving toward a better product though little innovations. Each person has a hand on improving the end result.

No Tin, No Can opener..Everything comes at a cost.. it is estimated that, at current consumption rates and technologies, the Earth will run out of tin that can be mined in 40 years..Thats if we have not blown ourselves up by that time..At first the dog did not know he was watching pictures of himself, but when it dawned on him his tail wagged ferociously...
Quote:
Although preservation of food using tin cans had been practiced since at least 1772 in the Netherlands, the first can openers were not patented until 1855 in England and 1858 in the United States..A similar device that incorporates a small spoon at one end and a bottle opener at the other is currently employed by the Australian Defence Force and New Zealand Army in its ration kits.. The Field Ration Eating Device is known by the acronym "FRED".. It is also known as the "Fucking Ridiculous Eating Device"..Sardines are canned in many different ways.. At the cannery, the fish are washed, their heads are removed, and the fish are cooked, either by deep-frying or by steam-cooking, after which they are dried..Tuna was first canned in 1903, quickly becoming popular.. It is canned in edible oils, in brine, in water, and in various sauces. In the United States, 52% of canned tuna is used for sandwiches; 22% for salads; and 15% for casseroles and dried, packaged meal mixes..

Tin is a chemical element with symbol Sn (for Latin: stannum) and atomic number 50. It is a main group metal in group 14 of the periodic table..Because of its low toxicity, tin-plated metal is commonly used for food packaging as tin cans, which are made mostly of steel..Tin acts as a catalyst when oxygen is in solution and helps accelerate chemical attack..The Latin name stannum originally meant an alloy of silver and lead, and came to mean 'tin' in the 4th century BCE - the earlier Latin word for it was plumbum candidum, or "white lead"..The Meyers Konversationslexikon speculates on the contrary that stannum is derived from (the ancestor of) Cornish stean, and is proof that Cornwall in the first centuries AD was the main source of tin...

A dirk is a long thrusting dagger..Historically, it was a personal weapon of officers engaged in naval hand-to-hand combat during the Age of Sail, as well as the personal sidearm of the officers of Scottish Highland regiments, and Japanese naval officers..A tin can telephone is a type of acoustic (non-electrical) speech-transmitting device made up of two tin cans, paper cups or similarly shaped items attached to either end of a taut string or wire..It is a form of mechanical telephony, where sound is converted into and then conveyed by vibrations along a liquid or solid medium, and then reconverted back to sound..Telepathy (from the Ancient Greek τῆλε, tele meaning "distant" and πάθος, pathos or -patheia meaning "feeling, perception, passion, affliction, experience") is the purported transmission of information from one person to another without using any of our known sensory channels or physical interaction...

The Orion correlation theory is a hypothesis in pyramidology.. Its central claim is that there is a correlation between the location of the 3 largest pyramids of the Giza pyramid complex and the 3 middle stars of the constellation Orion, and that this correlation was intended as such by the builders of the pyramids...The Rhind Mathematical Papyrus dates to the Second Intermediate Period of Egypt. It was copied by the scribe Ahmes (i.e., Ahmose; Ahmes is an older transcription favoured by historians of mathematics), from a now-lost text from the reign of king Amenemhat III (12th dynasty)...Written in the hieratic script, this Egyptian manuscript is 33 cm tall and consists of multiple parts which in total make it over 5m long..This book was copied in regnal year 33, month 4 of Akhet, under the majesty of the King of Upper and Lower Egypt...

Lightbulb Square Red Bricks

Quote:
Repeat after me..

"An acre is the area of a rectangle
whose length is one furlong
and whose width is one chain" ..

The name Red Square does not originate from the pigment of the surrounding bricks (which, in fact, were whitewashed at certain times in history) nor from the link between the color red and communism.. Red stock bricks are also fairly common, but only the yellow or brown coloured bricks are usually known as London stocks..Commonly, a field would be excavated to expose the brickearth or London clay subsoil which was then turned into bricks on the site by moulding and firing them..The Romans made fired clay bricks, and the Roman legions, which operated mobile kilns, introduced bricks to many parts of the empire. Roman bricks are often stamped with the mark of the legion that supervised their production. The use of bricks in southern and western Germany, for example, can be traced back to traditions already described by the Roman architect Vitruvius...

Arrow Pioneer Courthouse Square

Quote:
Pioneer Courthouse Square, affectionately known as Portland's living room,is a public space occupying a full 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2) city block in the center of downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Opened in 1984, the square is bounded by Southwest Morrison Street on the north, Southwest 6th Avenue on the east, Southwest Yamhill Street on the south, and Southwest Broadway on the west..

The 2010 (777) Portland car bomb plot involved an incident in which Mohamed Osman Mohamud (born 1991), a Somali-American student, was arrested in an FBI sting operation on November 26, 2010, after attempting to set off what he thought was a car bomb at a Christmas tree lighting in Portland, Oregon..He was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction..An attorney for Mohamud argued that his client was entrapped.. Most stores also sell pre-packaged food items, hot and cold sandwiches, and items such as Mugs and tumblers...

In 1989, a Starbucks coffeehouse opened at the northwest corner of the square, replacing a series of failed restaurants at the same location. Still in existence, this was the company's first Oregon outlet and its 40th overall..For almost 20 years, commercial space at the square's south end was occupied by a branch of Powell's Books..In 2006, architect Laurie Olin described Pioneer Courthouse Square, stating "you really can't sit in the shade in Pioneer Square. It's not quiet. The fountain looks like a Postmodern pit. It is intended to be a citywide park. It needs big, empty spaces.. If it's empty, then [Director Park] should be full."..The square is ranked as the world's fourth-best public square by Project for Public Spaces, bested only by two squares in Venice and one in Siena, Italy...
