Default Masons open doors to public

Quote:
FREEMASONS are to throw open their doors to "dispel myths" in a public display by an organisation still perceived by many to be shrouded in secrecy.

Tomorrow (Saturday), Ryde Masonic Centre, in John Street, holds an open day for the public from 10am until 4pm. The event is organised by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hampshire and the IW.
http://www.iwcp.co.uk/news/news/maso...lic-45152.aspx

The article says they had gained national permission from the grand lodge to be photographed in their regalia for the first time since 1913.

Why now though? These strange looking guys are known as the 'Island
Mafia'. Icke's hometown too. I'm tempted to pop in, have a nose and get a few pics...

They are harmless, do you think that if there was a sinister organisation as people have said about the Masons that they would be making such a moving target? They are a red herring, just a lot of people who have a need to belong.
A lot of people have a need to belong, not that I would join the Masons, seems more boring and dull than anything else. Maybe that's the plot, make people die of boredom, fiendish!

Haven't the masons been very open to the public in recent years? There's some masons who are just devil worshipers for the sake of it, they just do it because they like to 'belong' or just talk with their mates.

There are some who are into some very serious shit, but i don't think all of them are. Would be interesting to see how many exactly are into serious shit and who just go along just to talk with friends and do some rituals for the sake of it.

Any of you are always welcome to come into , and tour, my lodge. We have no issue with anyone coming to look at whatever they want.

Do you have any Evidence of this...

Sure, all you have to do is show up and I will be happy to show you around. We meet the Fourth Thursday of the Month at 630 for dinner. You know the website, just show up and I will give you the tour.

Well, you wouldn't believe us even if we did post pictures. You said so in another thread.

Sorry to be a pedant but I'm sure you don't mean to mislead anyone.

When of course it actually said:
Quote:
It was the first time since 1913 Freemasons had been photographed at Ryde in their regalia, which is normally only donned behind closed lodge doors.
There are many thousands of pictures of Masons (my own included) in their regalia available on the Net and in other Media taken since 1913

I hope you did pop in by the way.

So it is just a club where you talk with mates and do some rituals. that's it. I know they vary depending on how serious you take it. Is it just tradition?

I'm curious.

These are my pictures from the lodge at Ryde.

I thought the checker board floor would be tiled, but this one has a carpet. It also doesn't have any columns.

The unhewn stone represents the new initiate

All seeing eye image.

Default "Columns"??!?

Very nice pictures. Well done.
It looks pretty good there.
I see the picture of one of the British Olympians. That is from the front cover of a recent Freemasonry Today which has an article about current British Masonic athletes.

When you write,

can you explain why you have put the word columns in inverted commas?

Arrow The Doors of Perception

The book takes the form of Huxley’s recollection of a mescaline trip that took place over the course of an afternoon, and takes its title from William Blake's poem The Marriage of Heaven and Hell.

Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and one of the most prominent members of the famous Huxley family. Best known for his novels including Brave New World and a wide-ranging output of essays,

Brave New World is a novel written in 1931 by Aldous Huxley and published in 1932. Set in London of AD 2540 (632 A.F. in the book), the novel anticipates developments in reproductive technology and sleep-learning that combine to change society.

Arrow Masons opening doors in Finland

Casual blue lodge (lower degree) freemasons are spooked by being accused of a conspiracy against humanity. So now they have been opening the doors into their logde for the public to see.

This particular lodge does not have columns, so these are symbolic representations of them. They stand them up when the meeting is in session. They have globes on the top of them.
