Unless there was a 'lot' or studio to film on then most stuff was done guerilla style. It is seen all the time in movies of this sort, where the camera men set-up their gear and film the actors doing the do, and in the background, you will see the spectators. This was to save cash of course.

As the movies got more sufisti-micated they would endevour to lose the veiwing audiance in the cimima within the movie. This was to enable the make belive to stay untill the end.

INMHO, the shot of the zebra was a simple 'grab and bag' guerilla event. With the crew egging folk on to make it look normal, and not pay the privilage.

Why are some people talking as if this is footage from a film? It's just press coverage of a movie premiere.

I don't know what it is, nor does anyone. The clip is too old and in too poor quality to make it out exactly.

Sometimes it's okay to just leave something as a mystery you know.

Someone already posted this, but I cannot find where, now. This is part 1 of the original footage [allegedly]. It looks quite a bit different from the op.

I wonder if she has any cool apps.

Seriously though, it is pretty strange. She is definently talking into something. She also looks around at the end as if to say "do you see me." The man just walks on but she does the little turn around she is fully aware of where she is. It is also just a random street shot nothing to do with any movie. If you notice a few shots in the video above me show memebers of society doing normal things.

It has certainly got my mind moving.

You know, there are probably dozens of way more plausible explanations than "it's a time traveller" anyways. Why would anyone logically choose the time traveller theory over any of these other explanations?

1921: Earl C. Hansen invents and patents the first vacuum tube hearing aid. Called the “Vactuphone,” the instrument was battery-powered and employed a single triode.

Similar device from 1910:

edit: though it does appear that she is talking into something... great mystery i must say. i love stuff like this too!

Maybe this person is working for the film company.
Maybe they are using an early 2 way radio to talk to the director about the scene.

If not then they could be an a cop using a 2 way radio to talk to the station.
We do not know if this person is a lady, or a man dressed as a lady, maybe for the purpose of being undercover?

The way this person walks looks like they are carrying something heavy in the opposit hand to which they are holding a device to the ear.
Is it a bag, Or could this be a battery like the early Motorola things ?
Motorola began developing two-way radio communications equipment in 1930.

I would imagine the film makers would have access to this technology.
So i am going to go down the " its film crew giving feedback to the director or cameraman using an early 2 way radio" which would explain why the person turns and looks at the camera before being faded out..

what ya think ?

I think some people are just reaching to be the mystery solver. Precisely why would one talk into a hearing aid?

Okay so if it is the original and not new footage (i. e. reproduced from damaged film and edited into the shot using today's advanced technics) then they indeed did have something miniature back then that someone could talk into. Maybe some sort of recorder. I doubt it would be a 2 way device. I remember watching Hogan's Heroes set in WWII period TV show as a kid and they had very small cameras and miniature devices including listening devices etc....

Default Is there a Time Traveler in Charlie Chaplin Film?

Is there a Time Traveler in Charlie Chaplin Film?

Recently a video has surfaced on the internet purportedly showing a time traveler in the film. The film is of a 1928 Charlie Chaplin movie called, “The Circus.” In the movies extras there is some footage of the movie’s premiere. In the footage there is a woman that is walking on the sidewalk and appears to be holding a cell phone. The problem is that there were no cell phones in 1928. Could this footage be proof of a time traveler?
