Baileys Irish Cream 1980s ...
Quote:
Baileys Irish Cream was created by Gilbeys of Ireland, a division of International Distillers & Vintners, as it searched for something to introduce to the international market.. The process of finding a product began in 71 and it was introduced in 74 as the first Irish cream on the market.. The Baileys name, and the R.A. Bailey signature, were fictional, inspired by the Bailey's Hotel in London..Baileys is produced in Dublin and under contract in Newtownabbey..The manufacturer claims Baileys Irish Cream has a shelf life of 24 months and guarantees its taste for 2 years from the day it was made - opened or unopened, stored in a refrigerator or not, when stored away from direct sunlight at temperatures between 0 and 25 °C (32 and 77 °F)..In 72, the company was bought by Watney Mann, and became their consolidated wine and spirits division...

Lightbulb Astley

Nirvana vs Rick AstleY- Never Gonna Give Your Teen Spirit up ..
Quote:
Astley is a settlement within the Metropolitan Borough of Wigan in Greater Manchester, England, variously described as a suburb or a village.. Astley lies on flat land to the northwest of the city of Manchester, and is crossed by the Bridgewater Canal and the A580 "East Lancashire Road"..Bridgewater Cana connects Runcorn, Manchester and Leigh, in North West England..The canal is connected to the Manchester Ship Canal via a lock at Cornbrook; to the Rochdale Canal in Manchester; to the Trent and Mersey Canal at Preston Brook, southeast of Runcorn; and to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Leigh.. It once connected with the River Mersey at Runcorn but has since been cut off by a slip road to the Silver Jubilee Bridge..Pleasure craft now use the canal which forms part of the Cheshire Ring network of canals..Having visited the Canal du Midi in France and watched the construction of the Sankey Canal in England, the duke's solution to these problems was to build an underground canal at Worsley, connected to a surface canal between Worsley and Salford...

Bridgewater Canal and Astley Green Pithead..

Astley emerged during the Early Middle Ages as a township in the parish of Leigh.. It was mentioned in documents in 1210, when Hugh of Tyldesley, Lord of the Manors of Tyldesley and Astley, granted land to Cockersand Abbey.. In 1212, he was recorded as tenant of Astley Hall, the manor house for both Astley and Tyldesley, located just inside the Tyldesley township.. After his death, his son Henry inherited the manors. He was succeeded by his son, another Henry, who, when he died in 1301, divided the lands between three of his six sons.. It is from this division that the manors of Astley and Tyldesley were separated.. Tyldesleys lived at the Astley manor until April 1353 when Richard Radcliff bought it for 100 marks.. The Radcliffs remained there until 1561 when William Radcliff died childless and the land passed to his half-sister Anne, who married Gilbert Gerard..The stone and timber structure was named from the stream which was dammed to supply water to a waterwheel powering a corn mill near the house.. It is possible the hall was once surrounded by a moat...

After initial training at the Inter-Service Special Intelligence School set up by John Tiltman (initially at an RAF depot in Buckingham and later in Bedford – where it was known locally as "the Spy School") staff worked a 6-day week, rotating through 3 shifts: 4 p.m. to midnight, midnight to 8 a.m. (the most disliked shift), and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., each with a half-hour meal break.. Lightbulb This Little Hindley Light of Mine

Mysteries of Myra..

An Oxbow in the making...
Quote:
Henry Hindley (1701–1771) was an 18th-century clockmaker, watchmaker and maker of scientific instruments..Hindley was a Roman Catholic born in Wigan (Lancs) in 1701 it is not certain who he was apprenticed to, he made clocks in Wigan in 1726 - 1730 and moved to Petergate York in 1731 and moved to Stonegate York in 1741 until his death in 1771, he was succeeded by his son who died in 1775 ref Loomes 'Watch and Clockmakers of the World'..Hindley is a small hamlet, comprising around 20 residences.. It is in the parish of Broomley and Stocksfield and is just to the south of Stocksfield in Northumberland with Broomley to the west and Whittonstall to the east.. Hindley is composed of a large house, Hindley Hall (now split up into 3 houses and four flats), a farm (now converted into residences) and a post box..The name Hindley could be derived from a number of sources.. In R. Heslop's Northumbrian Words he suggests the 'Hindberry' (or raspberry), this is quite likely to be the root as other local names also have their names derived from plants; Broomley and Slaley. An alternative explanation could be that it is derived from 'Hind' (a female Red Deer) relating to the deer found in the area...

Stone walls on and near the school grounds where patriots were killed in the American Revolotion..

Hindley sees Heathcliff as a rival when Mr. Earnshaw, his father, brings him home (an orphan) and instantly treats him with animosity.. Eventually, this gives way to Mr. Earnshaw's favoring Heathcliff as his favorite child, above son Hindley and daughter Catherine, and thus leaving Hindley in hatred of his "foster-brother".. His father then, with the advice of others, sets him to go off to college..For himself, he grew desperate: his sorrow was of that kind that will not lament.. He neither wept, nor prayed; he cursed and defied; execrated God and man, and gave himself up to reckless dissipation.. The servants could not bear his tyrannical and evil conduct long.. Joseph and I were the only two that would stay - Nelly Dean's description of Hindley, after the death of Frances Earnshaw..Hindley School is 1 of 5 public elementary schools in Darien, Connecticut, serving about 550 pupils from kindergarten through Grade 5..

Arabic meaning of the name Myra for a girl : Aristocratic Lady..Myra is associated with the same "myrrh" that, according to Matthew, was brought as a gift to the infant Jesus by the 3 Kings, along with gold and frankincense..Fulke Greville, 1st Baron Brooke, de jure 13th Baron Latimer and 5th Baron Willoughby de Broke, was an Elizabethan poet, dramatist, and statesman who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1581 and 1621, when he was raised to the peerage..

Lesley is a placename and given name, a variant of Leslie, ultimately an anglicization of a Scottisch (Gaelic) placename..Hurricane Leslie caused minor impact in Bermuda and Atlantic Canada in September 2012.. The 12th tropical cyclone of the annual hurricane season, Leslie developed from a tropical wave located nearly 1,500 miles (2,400 km) east of the Leeward Islands on August 30.. About 12 hours later, it strengthened into Tropical Storm Leslie was a weak, short-lived tropical cyclone that was never well-organized; however, its precursor was costlier than any other tropical cyclone in the 2000 Atlantic hurricane season..LES Slang term, shortened form of the word Lesbian, referring to homosexual women-Lower esophageal sphincter-Lunar Escape Systems, a proposed escape from the moon if the Apollo Lunar Module had any major problems-Leş, a village in Nojorid Commune, Bihor County, Romania..Lilliput Edison screw, 5mm diameter size of light bulb connection...

The progenitor of the Clan Leslie is claimed to be a man named Bartolf who was a nobleman from Hungary, who came to Scotland in 1067.. Bartolf was allegedly in the retinue of Edgar the Ætheling, brother of Saint Margaret of Scotland, who was later the queen of Malcolm III of Scotland.. Bartolf was said to be a man of intellect and bravery and as a result Malcolm III made him governor of the royal Edinburgh Castle and gave him estates in Fife, Angus, Mearns and Aberdeenshire.. It is said that Bartolf helped the queen across a dangerous river on a horse and that Bartolf told her to "grip fast", which is where the chief's motto comes from..The chiefly line of the Clan Leslie passed to a junior branch of the family, from who the present Earl of Rothes descends, in obscure circumstances..Earl of Rothes (pronounced "Roth-is") is a title in the Peerage of Scotland...

In landscaping, an allée or avenue is traditionally a straight route with a line of trees or large shrubs running along each side.. In most cases, the trees planted in an avenue will be all of the same species or cultivar, so as to give uniform appearance along the full length of the avenue.. The French term allée is used for avenues planted in parks and landscape gardens, as well as boulevards such as the Grand Allée in Quebec City, Canada, and Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin..New York City's Manhattan is unusual in that it has very few alleys, since the Commissioner's Plan of 1811 did not include rear service alleys when it created Manhattan's grid...

The Snickelways of York, in Yorkshire, often misspelt Snickleways, are a collection of small streets, footpaths, or lanes between buildings, not wide enough for a vehicle to pass down, and usually public rights of way.. York has many such paths, mostly mediaeval, though there are some modern paths as well. They have names like any other city street, often quirky names such as Mad Alice Lane, Hornpot Lane Nether and even Finkle Street (formerly Mucky Peg Lane)..Several residential neighborhoods in Austin, Texas, have comprehensive alley systems.. These include Hyde Park, Rosedale, and areas northwest of the Austin State Hospital..Hyde Park is one of the largest parks in London, and one of the Royal Parks of London, famous for its Speakers' Corner..The Peak Forest Canal was constructed through Hyde from Ashton-under-Lyne to Woodley, Romiley and Marple.. Captain Clarke's Bridge, originally named Wood End Canal Bridge is situated at the end of Woodend Lane..A kodama (木霊 or 木魂) is a spirit that lives in a tree..These spirits are considered to nimbly bustle about mountains at will.. A kodama's outer appearance is very much like an ordinary tree, but if one attempts to cut it down, one would become cursed etc., and it is thus considered to have some kind of mysterious supernatural power, it is said to be the anguishing voice of kiinushii, and it is said that in times like these, the tree would then wither several days later, an aged man and woman are depicted standing alongside the trees, and here it is stated that when a tree has passed a hundred years of age, a divine spirit would come dwell inside it, and show its appearance..Most of the time Phi Tani remains hidden, but she comes out of the tree and becomes visible especially on full moon nights...

Undated photo of Walsh..Born Susan Young...
Quote:
Susan Walsh (36), freelance journalist, was last seen leaving her Nutley, New Jersey, apartment on July 16 to run some errands. Her disappearance was widely publicized; it is believed to possibly be linked to the Russian mafia due to her work investigating human trafficking in the sex trades..At the time of her disappearance, Walsh's friends worried she was struggling with substance abuse problems after having maintained 11 years of sobriety..

Though police had little clues to go off of while investigating Walsh's disappearance, rumors circulated that her disappearance may have been connected to the investigative research she had been doing at the time. Walsh had written an in-depth report on a strip club ring in which members of the Russian mafia were allegedly forcing young girls into the sex industry, which was published in The Village Voice.. Following this article, Walsh also explored an underground vampire community in New York City, but the newspaper did not run the story as they felt Walsh's writing on the matter was not objective..She had also hired herself out to a German documentary crew making a film about Russian immigrants becoming go-go dancers, and was also in the midst of developing a documentary on the subject with BBC shortly before her disappearance..Walsh was recorded in a group interview for the film on July 14, 1996, two days before her disappearance, during which she made a reference to having a "stalker"..

Nutley is a township in Essex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 28,370,reflecting an increase of 1,008 (+3.7%) from the 27,362 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 263 (+1.0%) from the 27,099 counted in the 1990 Census..As of the 2000 Census, 36.0% of town residents were of Italian ancestry, the 12th-highest percentage of any municipality in the United States, and 5th-highest in New Jersey, among all places with more than 1,000 residents identifying their ancestry..During the late 1880s, painter Frank Fowler founded an artists' colony on The Enclosure, a dead-end street that is near the 3rd River, a stream that runs through the town's parks...John and Thomas Speer, Joseph Kingsland, and Henry Duncan all operated mills in the town during the 1800s..Annie Oakley performed at an amateur circus at Nutley in 1894, to raise funds for the Red Cross..Nutley had been the U.S. headquarters of Hoffmann-La Roche and was the site of the creations of the medications Valium and Librium, later becoming one of the major R&D sites for Roche, hosting major research areas in oncology, virology and inflammation..The Van Riper House in Nutley, New Jersey is a Bergen Dutch sandstone house built in 1708.The building was for a time was owned by ITT Corporation and served as executives' residence and offices...

Rhapsody of the Seas docked at Seattle, Washington...

Amy Lynn Bradley (born May 12, 1974) is an American citizen who went missing (aged 23) during a Caribbean cruise on the Royal Caribbean International cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas..At 5:30am on March 24, 1998, Amy's brother left his sister sitting on the outdoor balcony and entered his cabin. She was seen a short time later by other passengers riding in the ship's elevator with a member of the ship's band, Blue Orchid..After 6 years of sailing from Galveston, Texas, Rhapsody of the Seas repositioned on a world trip in the fall of 2007, traveling through the South Pacific to Australia where she remained for two months, before moving to Asia, operating cruises from Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Busan in South Korea...

One explanation for the origin of the name Curaçao is that it is derived from the Portuguese word for heart (coração), referring to the island as a centre in trade...Curaçao liqueur was first developed and marketed by the Senior family..Blue colour is achieved by adding of food colourant, most often E133 Brilliant Blue..It is a synthetic dye produced using aromatic hydrocarbons from petroleum..The northern sea floor drops steeply within 200 feet (61 m) of the shore.. This drop-off is known as the "blue edge"..Curaçao has the oldest active Jewish congregation in the Americas, dating to 1651.. The Curaçao synagogue is the oldest synagogue of the Americas in continuous use, since its completion in 1732 on the site of a previous synagogue.. In terms of geology, the Greater Antilles are made up of continental rock, as distinct from the Lesser Antilles, which are mostly young volcanic or coral islands..How OLD are you Mr. Sinclair?.. I'm 33...

Renewed attention was paid to her case after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005..Crewmember Rebecca Coriam disappeared from the cruise ship Disney Wonder off the Pacific coast of Mexico on the morning of 22 March 2011.. She was last seen in the crew lounge, where a security camera recorded her during a phone conversation that appeared to be causing her some emotional difficulty..In her youth she also worked at the Chester Zoo, where other relatives had worked.. A memorial bench to her grandparents Kevin and Dolores is on the zoo grounds..

Lightbulb Tantalus Machine

Miss Sarajevo - Passengers..
Quote:
Niobium, formerly columbium, is a chemical element with symbol Nb (formerly Cb) and atomic number 41.. It is a soft, grey, ductile transition metal, which is often found in the pyrochlore mineral, the main commercial source for niobium, and columbite.. The name comes from Greek mythology: Niobe, daughter of Tantalus since it is so similar to tantalum..It was not until the early 20th century that niobium was first used commercially.. Brazil is the leading producer of niobium and ferroniobium, an alloy of niobium and iron.. Niobium is used mostly in alloys, the largest part in special steel such as that used in gas pipelines..

The temperature stability of niobium-containing superalloys is important for its use in jet and rocket engines..These superconducting alloys also containing titanium and tin, are widely used in the superconducting magnets of MRI scanners.. Other applications of niobium include its use in welding, nuclear industries, electronics, optics, numismatics, and jewelry..Niobium is a lustrous, grey, ductile, paramagnetic metal in group 5 of the periodic table ..Niobium becomes a superconductor at cryogenic temperatures.. At atmospheric pressure, it has the highest critical temperature of the elemental superconductors: 9.2 K..The metal has a low capture cross-section for thermal neutrons; thus it is used in the nuclear industries..Absorption cross section is often highly dependent on neutron energy..The isotope 198Au is a beta emitter that decays into the mercury isotope 198Hg.. In this process the atomic number rises by one..In particular, the increase in uranium-238's ability to absorb neutrons at higher temperatures (and to do so without fissioning) is a negative feedback mechanism that helps keep nuclear reactors under control..

Lightbulb Fuller's Earth

Anti-Aircraft Searchlights (1940) ..
Quote:
Fuller was a vigorous, expressive and opinionated writer of military history and of controversial predictions of the future of war..Fuller was an early disciple of English poet and magician Aleister Crowley and was very familiar with his, and other forms of, magick and mysticism. While serving in the First Oxfordshire Light Infantry he had entered, and won, a contest to write the best review of Crowley's poetic works - he was apparently the only entrant to the contest...

Decontamination:Fuller's earth is used by military and civil emergency service personnel to decontaminate the clothing and equipment of servicemen and CBRN (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear) responders who have been contaminated with chemical agents..

Fuller's earth consists primarily of hydrous aluminum silicates (clay minerals) of varying composition..Common components are montmorillonite, kaolinite and attapulgite.. Small amounts of other minerals may be present in fuller's earth deposits, including calcite, dolomite, and quartz. In some localities fuller's earth refers to calcium bentonite, which is altered volcanic ash composed mostly of montmorillonite..

Vitrification is a proven technique in the disposal and long-term storage of nuclear waste or other hazardous wastes in a method called geomelting..According to the Pacific Northwest National Labs, "Vitrification locks dangerous materials into a stable glass form that will last for thousands of years..Porcelain, bone china and sanitaryware are examples of vitrified pottery, and are impermeable even without glaze.. Stoneware may be vitrified or semi-vitrified, the latter type would not be impermeable without glaze..Ceramics can be particularly radioactive if some compound of uranium (e.g., uranium oxide, sodium urinate) has been used to impart color (e.g., orange-red, green, yellow, black) to the glaze..

Lightbulb Gnaeus Julius

Agricola at the Roman Baths at Bath..
Quote:
Gnaeus Julius Agricola (13 June 40 – 23 August 93) was a Gallo-Roman general responsible for much of the Roman conquest of Britain.. Written by his son-in-law Tacitus, the De vita et moribus Iulii Agricolae is the primary source for most of what is known about him, along with detailed archaeological evidence from northern Britain.. In 93, Agricola died on his family estates in Gallia Narbonensis aged fifty-three.. Rumours circulated attributing the death to a poison administered by the Emperor Domitian, but no positive evidence for this was ever produced...
