Default Is "The Lost Symbol" a guide for the masses?

I have just finished reading Dan Browns’ The Lost Symbol and I was amazed at how the book was both a novel and a spiritual self help book with countless references to esoteric texts and wisdom, noetic sciences etc.

A self help book would sell to a small amount of the population where as one of Dan Browns’ books would be read by a much wider audience; Do you think it was designed this was to get a message across to the maximum amount of people?

The main topic in the end was mass ascension!

Just bumping this as I have started reading it myself.
I'm only a few chapters in and so far I think I agree with you.
I will need to read the rest to give a more accurate account.
