Default Sir Alan Sugar

Hi, sorry for posting again but The Apprentice has just come on and I had to comment on its nefarious lauding of aggression, cruelty and desperation.

The utterly facile comments of the competitors beggar belief;

"I'm a winner, I'm not used to losing, I give 110 per cent."

Spare me. A prime example of trying to gain the world and lose your soul in the process.

Welcome, Matthew.

I despise Alan Sugar and both his reality TV shows. Dragon's Den is even worse! The common theme in these programmes and soap operas is battering the morale. As I said above, we're being flocked into a tiny pen of acceptable behavior and morality with a viscious sheepdog snapping at our heels. It's become a case of "Become this or fall"

Thumbs down Reality TV

You'll notice that all the Realiy Tv shows have now began rewarding apalling bahaviour, anything that results in you putting someone down, insulting, belittling, just being a bastard generally, is absolutley promoted...

Take Big brother a few years back where they show peoples "secretly" voting people off, just to create a problem in the "house"....

Or Simon Cowell on American Idol.... stating clearly that it was toal rubbish and people tune in just to see him take people to the cleaners....

it is now the biggest type of TV on TV, its not good...

Yeah, bad behaviour gets promoted.

Can you imagine what it would do to the kids?

As I said throughout this thread. Soap and RealityTV are sadly having an effect.

Rudeness and aggression have risen and almost become the normal way to do busines. Fewer males are sexually active and therefore reproducing; and those who do are usually the Conformiust Male Ideals of the soap operas. So we're talking bout massive social engineering, not just biological; in other words social eugenics!

Default Mind Numbing TV

The UKs obsession with "soaps" and "reality shows" is so very sad. It takes people out of the true nature of reality, and sucks them into the SYSTEMS reality of mind numbing bullshit ! They become absorbed with what they watch on the TV, thus doing what the SYSTEM wants. Meanwhile the SYSTEM accomplishes more of its agenda. How on earth people can watch such drivel is a mystery, its pointless; their is nothing of benefit whatsoever !!! I saw how powerful television was when I saw a grown woman cry over the "death" of "Dirty Den" !!! What a powerful tool !!! The NWO must have a right laugh !!!

here in the states, we have a different set of soaps.

seems to me that most of the imitation that i see in real life is from females..

although some middle age men get into it too

it's prolly deeper than what i can see...

i can never watch a whole episode

my soul just can't take it lol

Default T.V

Intellect, individuality and decency are weeded out at the first opportunity in most t.v shows, while competition, greed, violence and envy seem to be the order of the day.

If any terrorists out there are at a loose end, consider blowing up some tv stations!

just kidding...

i think...

The new series of Britain's Got Talent is on at the moment!

It should be renamed: Britain's Been Conditioned into Sadistic Voyeurism.

I agree that the property programs (Freudian slip) have a detremental effect. For a lot of people the kind of places on them are completely unattainable. People watch these programmes and it puts them into "want" mode and just encourages greed and jealousy. It's the same with the celebrity lifestyle shows, it encourages people to live beyond their means to obtain things they probably, deep down don't even want. Getting into more debt and owning more stuff is the last thing most people should be thinking about in my opinion.

P.S. I think your porn comparison is spot on.

Excellent thread and comments!
Soaps are mind-numbing and brainwashing.
They show a false reality for the "sheeple" to follow and remain in ignorance.

Food for thought, great point.

Wouldn't it be great if someone somehow blocked all TV signals for a month or two! It would be a bloody interesting social experiment if nowt else!

Default Drip fed!!!

Its a sad curse this thing we refer to as a TV
drip, drip, drip feeding the unthinking and the weak
a mind numbing and seriously obscene false reality
and there they sit and drink in the futile crap
and like an addicts wet dream
they have it on a 24 hour drip
they watch and they don't even notice
how deep they've sunk in their own shit!

(C)2008 Rev Lenny Gazbowski

I don't watch that box and am so effing happy that I am free of their shit! I have read in the Telegraph that thir is an inquiry into Strictly Come Dancing.....OH PLEASE !!! NO !!! Beam me up SCOTTIE !!!
