Default The Mothman Photo, Indrid Cold and Union Carbide

Evening thrillseekers.

This afternoon I fell asleep on my couch and had a nightmare about Indrid Cold, one of the mysterious players in the Point Pleasant Mothman saga of 1966/67.

After the dream I did a bit of reading up on Indrid Cold and found what I think is a very interesting take on the whole story by Andy Colvin, aka 'The Mothman Photographer.'

Andy is a photographer and documentary filmmaker intimately connected to the Point Pleasant area from his younger years at the time of the Mothman sightings, and is seen in the below photo from 1973, alongside what he speculates might just be the Mothman itself, peering in through the bottom left hand side of the window pane behind him.

For closeups of this photo, and some other intriguing and related images, you can go here:

http://andycolvin.com/gallery.php?id=4

But even more interesting to me than the above, is Andy Colvin's blog:

http://www.andycolvin.com/wordpress/

I found it to be a thought-provoking read that explains Colvin's personal involvement in the case, and expounds on Hindu Mythology, MIBs, black ops, hyperdimensional beings, Union Carbide and the events that transpired at Point Pleasant back in 66/67, linking them all together to present some fascinating tentative theories and speculations on what might really lie behind the whole bizarre tale of the Mothman.

Hope you enjoy.

I don’t know why but I have a niggling feeling that Indrid Cold is an anagram for something else?

Anyway! Shakes off the niggles and adds…I’ve also had a couple of the Mothman dreams myself; the first one was in 2003.

From my Mothman dreams I have the impression of a crashed air-craft which has a stealth-jet like appearance about it…In another dream I was given a name of a secret air-craft project…The Aurora.

After a net search on the name Aurora I found that the dream was possibly correct…

So I do wonder if may-be the Mothman Prophecies story has some kind of E.T influence about it.

It's an anagram for "cord did nil" which is apt, considering the cords holding up the bridge snapped.

Have a read of his blog if you haven't already. He speculates on possible anagrams and suggests an interesting one connected to the Hindu god Indra.

Late last summer my husband and I drove to point Pleasant to attend the Mothman festival. My first thought was..."Boy, these people could sure use an event planner!" I mean, they DO try to put the word out, just not very well.
What was most interesting, however, was thr trip out to the sightings. The area WAS HUGE and you could tell not many people drove through there. We were in a tractor and most lanes were overgrown.
The saddest part was reading the old newspapers. What a devastating loss to s very small village.

...Wanted to add that Mrs. Goldsberry gave a speech earlier in the evening, and I have read her accounts several times. I tell ya, that lady saw SOMETHING.

I agree! Something phenomenal must have occurred there.

Should I ever be fortunate enough to have a vacation then I guess that certain sights like the Point Pleasant, Ohio area of the USA would be on my visiting list…

Along with Roswell…Loch Ness…Rosslyn Chapel…Giza Pyramids…The Louvre.

Darn it! Oh well I’ll just have to dream on…

Size of Light this is some amazing information and the pics are great. Does this mean the same Flatwoods monster was reported twice, once in West Virginia and once in Montana?!

I'll have to re-read it bg, I'm not sure.

Pretend I'm really lazy and you tell me!

I agree there's a lot of thought-provoking info there.

I also get the feeling we haven't seen the last of the Mothman. Real, psy-op, or a combination of both, I think he's due for another big flap, if only so the bad guys can milk all sorts of weird esoteric energy on a mass scale out of the publicity it would generate.

John Keel's recent death makes me think something could be afoot soon.

The photo seems centred on the window, not the guy.

But Mothy's face does have a real feel about it.

This is what I see and think they're getting at:

The eyes are highlighted. There's a couple of ways to look at the lower facial features...I tend to see it a little like the Fu cartoon character peeping over a brick wall and the creature has a long proboscis or beak with the dark area arching up on the left (and a bit on the right too) being what you can see of it's mouth behind it.

Another interpretation is that the lower part is more like a goblin, or a Grey-like being with a much shorter, more 'piggy' face (I'm less and less convinced that's right).

Whichever way you look at it though, I think most people would agree that the eyes are marked correctly.
