I haven't medidated ever. I wouldn't know how to go about it.

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Welcome Temma , you sound just like the sort of member we need here .... I notice you invite offers of help...

If you give complete details of what you are doing we can be more precises in our advice.... We need to know.....

Place of Practice Is this always the same? inside? are there other humans in the room? cats or dogs? How quiet is the room ? What is the light level? do you have eyes open or closed?

Posture are you sitting on a bare floor? Yoga mat? Is your body touching anything except the floor? is your back supported by cushions, or leaning on the wall. Which asana are you using , padma , sida, badakana..etc?

How still are you, any fidgeting , scratching , stretching of legs?

Any other things we need to know, use of ear plugs, cannabis?

The Process What exactly are you doing (if anything), or attempting to do with the mind?

And finally, what do hope to achieve by 'meditation'?

Bet you have. Bet you have walked through the country side or along a beach and just let your mind do its thing and come home feeling wonderful.

Done a hobby where you do it so often you do not need to think while doing it and your mind goes elsewhere..
Now I know that many things are a way to meditate I notice it more and more.

I found that out here on a thread I started ( I think) I am not one for sitting still and trying to meditate in that way.

I will try the candle thing as that sounds like something I would be able to do.

Done a hobby
Kizzie !!! That's called 'living' ...if done well 'living with attention'

Meditation is disconnecting from the outside world and going inwards, no outside sensory input, the exact-opposite of what you said .... of course both are equally valid and needed.
