Maybe better to go direct to Susans website, there are less distractions there. http://www.metaphysicalmusing.com/
Wiki says there two kind of texts in Hinduism: Hindu texts are classified into Śruti ("revealed") and Smriti ("remembered"). These texts discuss theology, philosophy, mythology, Vedic yajna and agamic rituals and temple building, among other topics.[53] Major scriptures include the Vedas, Upanishads (both Śruti), Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavad Gita, Puranas, Manusmṛti, and Agamas (all smriti).[53]

So, I started with Sruti ones i.e Vedas as they are believed to be direct revelations while Smriti are said to be men work?

Thanks for the link. I will check it out.
