if you pay. i'm sure most would jump in line to pay a breathing tax too. quite sad really. taxes go up...services cut back. and all to support/bail out those who cause the problems in the first place. nice scam.

should i quit paying my taxes and lose my farm just to make a point?

Really? Look what happened when a previous government attempted to establish a poll tax... the poll tax died and the government fell.

Your right to enforce property rights is not contingent on paying taxes. You can deal freely with property while at the same time owing money to the government... up to the point when the government seizes your property to cover the debt. The same thing can happen if you end up in debt to anyone and don't pay. Taxes on property are, in that way, no different to taxes on income.

and its plain to see niether one of you get the the point. i assume you are satisfied with the way things are. if so, good for you. its what the public seems to want. enjoy the end result. what i am saying is, its unsustainable. but of course you'll disagree. time will tell.

edit: and bikerdruid, just to be clear, i am not suggesting you not pay taxes and lose the farm to make a point. in fact i'll say that if you want to play any game you must play by the rules. one just makes up their mind if they want to play or not...and try to realize what the consequences are all around.

Every day the crowns right of access to your property changes.
You could wake up one day and find yourself involved in criminal activity and the crown will have the cops on your doorstep before you are out of bed.
This is happening somewhere as I write this.

I have done all kinds of stuff.
Crazy stuff....above & beyond believability stuff.
I can even claim to be instrumental in retiring ....get this; "MORTGAGES".
Its actually quite simple.
An offer to pay and settle is made in good faith.
What the financial institution does with it, determines the outcome.
That's it.
