Lightbulb Llywelyn the Great

With his sons Gruffydd & Dafydd..
Quote:

Llewellyn + Ghosts..

Llywelyn was born about 1173, the son of Iorwerth ap Owain and the grandson of Owain Gwynedd, who had been ruler of Gwynedd until his death in 1170.. Llywelyn was a descendant of the senior line of Rhodri Mawr and therefore a member of the princely house of Gwynedd..He was probably born at Dolwyddelan, though not in the present Dolwyddelan castle, which was built by Llywelyn himself..He may have been born in the old castle which occupied a rocky knoll on the valley floor.. Little is known about his father, Iorwerth Drwyndwn, who died when Llywelyn was an infant..There is no record of Iorwerth having taken part in the power struggle between some of Owain Gwynedd's other sons following Owain's death, although he was the eldest surviving son.. There is a tradition that he was disabled or disfigured in some way that excluded him from power..Llywelyn's mother was Marared, occasionally anglicised to Margaret, daughter of Madog ap Maredudd, prince of Powys.,Wales was divided into Pura Wallia, the areas ruled by the Welsh princes, and Marchia Wallia, ruled by the Anglo-Norman barons..In his later years Llywelyn devoted much effort to ensuring that his only legitimate son Dafydd would follow him as ruler of Gwynedd and amended Welsh law as followed in Gwynedd..Llywelyn dominated Wales for more than 40 years, and was one of only two Welsh rulers to be called "the Great", the other being his ancestor Rhodri the Great..Joan died in 1237 and Llywelyn appears to have suffered a paralytic stroke the same year.. From this time on, his heir Dafydd took an increasing part in the rule of the principality.. Dafydd deprived his half-brother Gruffydd of the lands given him by Llywelyn, and later seized him and his eldest son Owain and held them in Criccieth Castle..( Castell Cricieth) is a native Welsh castle situated on the headland between two beaches in Criccieth, Gwynedd, in North Wales, on a rocky peninsula overlooking Tremadog Bay..A Motte and bailey stood at a different site in Criccieth before the masonry castle was built..Criccieth was also one of several locations Romantic artist Joseph Mallord William Turner used for his famous series of paintings depicting shipwrecked mariners..

The remains of the great gatehouse at the Castle..

Dafydd ap Llywelyn (c. March 1212 – 25 February 1246) was Prince of Gwynedd from 1240 to 1246..He was the first ruler to claim the title Prince of Wales..Though birth years of 1208, 1206, and 1215 have been put forward for Dafydd, it has recently been persuasively argued that he was born shortly after Easter 1212..Born at Castell Hen Blas, Coleshill, Bagillt in Flintshire, he was the only son of Llywelyn the Great by his wife, Joan (daughter of King John of England)..Dafydd succeeded Llywelyn as prince of Gwynedd, but King Henry was not prepared to allow him to inherit his father's position in the remainder of Wales.. Dafydd was forced to agree to a treaty greatly restricting his power and was also obliged to hand his half-brother Gruffydd over to the king, who now had the option of using him against Dafydd.. Gruffydd was killed attempting to escape from the Tower of London in 1244..The window from which he attempted to escape the Tower was bricked up and can still be seen to this day..This left the field clear for Dafydd, but Dafydd himself died without issue in 1246 and was eventually succeeded by his nephew, Gruffydd's son, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, was the second of the four sons of Gruffudd, the eldest son of Llywelyn the Great, and Senana ferch Caradog, the daughter of Caradoc ap Thomas ap Rhodri, Lord of Anglesey..Llywelyn and Owain came to terms with King Henry and in 1247, signed the Treaty of Woodstock at Woodstock Palace..The terms they were forced to accept restricted them to Gwynedd Uwch Conwy, the part of Gwynedd west of the River Conwy, which was divided between them..Gwynedd Is Conwy, east of the river, was taken over by King Henry...

Arrow The Tower

Tarot XVI..

All Along The Watchtower..
Quote:
The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London.. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England..The White Tower, which gives the entire castle its name, was built by William the Conqueror in 1078, and was a resented symbol of oppression, inflicted upon London by the new ruling elite (also known as a donjon), which was often the strongest structure in a medieval castle, and contained lodgings suitable for the lord – in this case the king or his representative..The Tower of London has played a prominent role in English history.. It was besieged several times, and controlling it has been important to controlling the country..The Norman Conquest of London manifested itself not only with a new ruling class, but in the way the city was structured.. Land was confiscated and redistributed amongst the Normans, who also brought over hundreds of Jews, for financial reasons..The Jews arrived under the direct protection of the Crown, as a result of which Jewish communities were often found close to castles..The Jews used the Tower as a retreat, when threatened by anti-Jewish violence..There were several phases of expansion, mainly under Kings Richard the Lionheart, Henry III, and Edward I in the 12th and 13th centuries...The Tower has served variously as an armoury, a treasury, a menagerie, the home of the Royal Mint, a public record office, and the home of the Crown Jewels of England..Much of the latter half of the 15th century was occupied by the Wars of the Roses between the claimants to the throne, the houses of Lancaster & York..

The Other Boleyn Girl - Caring for the King..

In the late 15th century the castle was the prison of the Princes in the Tower..Traditional accounts have held that the 12-year-old Edward was confined to the Tower of London along with his younger brother Richard..The princes were last seen in public in June 1483; it has traditionally been thought that the most likely reason for their disappearance is that they were murdered late in the summer of 1483..The beginning of the Tudor period marked the start of the decline of the Tower of London's use as a royal residence, and despite attempts to refortify and repair the castle its defences lagged behind developments to deal with artillery..The peak period of the castle's use as a prison was the 16th and 17th centuries, when many figures who had fallen into disgrace, such as Elizabeth I before she became queen, Sir Walter Raleigh, and Elizabeth Throckmorton were held within its walls..Contrary to the popular image of the Tower, prisoners were able to make their life easier by purchasing amenities such as better food or tapestries through the Lieutenant of the Tower..The Privy Council had to sanction the use of torture, so it was not often used, there were 48 recorded cases of the use of torture..The three most common forms used were the infamous rack, the Scavenger's daughter, and manacles..Among those held and executed at the Tower was Anne Boleyn..One of those tortured at the Tower was Guy Fawkes, who was brought there on 6 November 1605; after torture he signed a full confession to the Gunpowder Plot..In the First & Second World Wars, the Tower was again used as a prison, and witnessed the executions of 12 men for espionage.. After the Second World War, damage caused during the Blitz was repaired, and the castle reopened to the public..

Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red..

The work consisted of a sea of ceramic red poppies, which were individually hand-made at Cummins' ceramics works in Derbyshire, and some at Johnson Tiles in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent..The poppies were added to the installation progressively by volunteers..There were eventually 888,246 of the flowers, representing one count of the number of British and Colonial military fatalities in World War I.. The sea of flowers was arranged to resemble a pool of blood which appeared to be pouring out of a bastion window (the "Weeping Window")..At around sunset each day between 1 September and 10 November, the names of 180 World War I service personnel, nominated by members of the public to appear on a Roll of Honour, were read aloud by a Yeoman Warder, followed by the Last Post bugle call..The installation was visited by the Princes William & Harry and the Duchess of Cambridge on the day of its opening, and by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh on 16 October..The Queen later spoke about the memorial in her annual Christmas Message, broadcast on 25 December 2014..In all, an estimated five million people saw the memorial, and the huge visitor demand saw Prime Minister David Cameron and other politicians join calls to try and extend the period for which the installation remained at the Tower so that more visitors would be able to pay their respects..In the 21st century, tourism is the Tower's primary role, the remaining routine military activities, under the Royal Logistic Corps, having wound down in the latter half of the 20th century and moved out of the castle..However, the Tower is still home to the ceremonial regimental headquarters of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, and the museum dedicated to it and its predecessor, the Royal Fusiliers..Also, a detachment of the unit providing the Queen's Guard at Buckingham Palace still mounts a guard at the Tower, and with the Yeomen Warders, takes part in the Ceremony of the Keys...

Lightbulb Haus of Tudor

The stained glass window Penmynydd..
Quote:
The Tudors are descended on Henry VII's mother's side from John Beaufort, 1st Earl of Somerset, one of the illegitimate children of the 14th century English prince John of Gaunt (the third surviving son of Edward III) by Gaunt's long-term mistress Katherine Swynford.. The descendants of an illegitimate child of English royalty would normally have no claim on the throne, but the situation was complicated when Gaunt and Swynford eventually married in 1396, when John Beaufort was 25.. The church retroactively declared the Beauforts legitimate by way of a papal bull the same year, confirmed by an Act of Parliament in 1397.. A subsequent proclamation by John of Gaunt's legitimate son, Henry IV, also recognised the Beauforts' legitimacy but declared them ineligible ever to inherit the throne..Nevertheless, the Beauforts remained closely allied with Gaunt's legitimate descendants from his first marriage, the House of Lancaster..

Arms of the Tudors..

The Tudors of Penmynydd were a noble and aristocratic family, connected with the village of Penmynydd in Anglesey, North Wales, who were very influential in Welsh (and later English) politics..The family descended from Ednyfed Fychan (died in 1246), the Welsh warrior who became seneschal to the Kingdom of Gwynedd in North Wales, serving Llywelyn the Great and later his son Dafydd ap Llywelyn..In the 15th century, three of the Tudor brothers gave their allegiance to Owain, their first cousin as their mothers were sisters and also descended from many of the native Welsh princes including Llewellyn the Great: Rhys ap Tudur, Gwilym ap Tudur & Maredudd ap Tudur (great grandfather of Henry VII).. Following Glynd?r's demise, much of the Tudors' lands were taken by the English Crown..

Desire 1936 Theatrical French Poster..

On 1 November 1455, John Beaufort's granddaughter, Margaret Beaufort, Countess of Richmond and Derby, married Henry VI's half-brother Edmund Tudor, 1st Earl of Richmond.. It was his father, Owen Tudor (Owain ap Maredudd ap Tudur ap Goronwy ap Tudur ap Goronwy ap Ednyfed Fychan), who abandoned the Welsh patronymic naming practice and adopted a fixed surname.. When he did, he did not choose, as was generally the custom, his father's name, Maredudd, but chose that of his grandfather, Tudur ap Goronwy, instead, corresponding to Germanic Theodoric..The name was Latinized as Theodoricus or Theodericus, originally from a Common Germanic form ("people-ruler")..After the end of Late Antiquity, during the 6th to 8th century there were also several kings of the Franks called Theodoric (or Theuderic)..The Dutch form Derek was used in England from the 15th century..The German form Dietrich was abbreviated to Dieter..The Welsh form Tudur is the origin of the name of the English Tudor dynasty..Owen Tudor was one of the bodyguards for the queen dowager Catherine of Valois, whose husband, Henry V, had died in 1422..Evidence suggests that the two were secretly married in 1429..The two sons born of the marriage, Edmund and Jasper, were among the most loyal supporters of the House of Lancaster in its struggle against the House of York.. Henry VI ennobled his half-brothers:December 1449 and was married to Margaret..Edmund became the first Earl of Richmond on 15 December 1449 and Jasper, Earl of Pembroke on 23 November 1452..Countess of Richmond and Derby, the great-granddaughter of John of Gaunt, the progenitor of the house of Lancaster; Jasper became the first Earl of Pembroke on 23 November 1452..Edmund died on 3 November 1456. On 28 January 1457, his widow Margaret Beaufort, who had just attained her fourteenth birthday, gave birth to a son, Henry Tudor, at her brother-in-law's Pembroke Castle...

Arrow The Sand Reckoner

St. Helen's Chapel at Siccar Point ..
Quote:
Sandstone is an assemblage of rocks in the North Atlantic region largely of Devonian age.. It extends in the east across Britain, Ireland & Norway and in the West along the northeastern seaboard of North America..

Manic Street Preachers - Theme from M*A*S*H..

This relatively large basin extends across much of South Wales from southern Pembrokeshire in the west through Carmarthenshire into Powys and Monmouthshire and through the southern Welsh Marches, notably into Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.. Outliers in Somerset and north Devon complete the extent of this basin..These desert sediments eventually formed conglomerates and sandstones..They are exposed today in the Clougher Valley, and near to Cushendun, County Antrim where the conglomerates are of quartzite cobbles embedded in a matrix of red sandstone..Siccar Point was the site of a dun, or small hill fort, in the territory of the ancient Britons...

Arrow King of the Britons

Gruffudd escapes from Chester..
Quote:
Gruffudd ap Cynan (c. 1055 – 1137), was King of Gwynedd from 1081.. In the course of a long and eventful life, he became a key figure in Welsh resistance to Norman rule, and was remembered as King of all Wales..As a descendant of Rhodri Mawr, Gruffudd ap Cynan was a senior member of the princely House of Aberffraw..Through his mother, Gruffudd had close family connections with the Norse settlement around Dublin and he frequently used Ireland as a refuge and as a source of troops.. He three times gained the throne of Gwynedd and then lost it again, before regaining it once more in 1099.. Gruffudd laid the foundations which were built upon by his son Owain Gwynedd and his great-grandson Llywelyn the Great..

Coat of Arms retroactively attributed to Gryffudd ap Cynan..

The situation was changed by the arrival of a Norwegian fleet under the command of King Magnus III of Norway, also known as Magnus Barefoot, who attacked the Norman forces near the eastern end of the Menai Straits.. Earl Hugh of Shrewsbury was killed by an arrow said to have been shot by Magnus himself..The Normans were obliged to evacuate Anglesey, and the following year Gruffudd returned from Ireland to take possession again, having apparently come to an agreement with Earl Hugh of Chester..By about 1118 Gruffudd's advancing years meant that most of the fighting, which pushed Gwynedd's borders eastward and southwards, was done by his three sons by his wife Angharad, daughter of Owain ab Edwin of Tegeingl: Cadwallon, Owain Gwynedd and later Cadwaladr..Another invasion by the king of England in 1121 was a military failure..The king had to come to terms with Gruffudd and made no further attempt to invade Gwynedd during Gruffudd's reign...

Gruffudd was now powerful enough to ensure that his nominee David the Scot was consecrated as Bishop of Bangor in 1120.. The see had been effectively vacant since Bishop Hervey le Breton had been forced to flee by the Welsh almost twenty years before, since Gruffudd and King Henry could not agree on a candidate.. David went on to rebuild Bangor Cathedral with a large financial contribution from Gruffudd..Owain and Cadwaladr, in alliance with Gruffudd ap Rhys of Deheubarth, gained a crushing victory over the Normans at Crug Mawr near Cardigan in 1136 and took possession of Ceredigion.. The latter part of Gruffydd's reign was considered to be a "Golden Age"; according to the Life of Gruffudd ap Cynan Gwynedd was "bespangled with lime-washed churches like the stars in the firmament"...Gruffudd died in his bed, old and blind, in 1137 and was mourned by the annalist of Brut y Tywysogion as the "head and king and defender and pacifier of all Wales".. He was buried by the high altar in Bangor Cathedral which he had been involved in rebuilding..He also made bequests to many other churches, including one to Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin where he had worshipped as a boy.. He was succeeded as king of Gwynedd by his son Owain Gwynedd.. His daughter Gwenllian, who married Gruffudd ap Rhys of Deheubarth, son of his old ally Rhys ap Tewdwr, is also notable for her resistance to English rule...

Lightbulb Great Gorm

King of Denmark..
Quote:

The poet Finegas spent se7en years fishing for this salmon..

The first recorded raid on Wales occurred in 852, and we know of attacks by Vikings on Anglesey and Gwynedd from 854 onwards..Rhodri Mawr, ruler of Gwynedd (844-78), led resistance to these early onslaughts..Now the master of much of modern Wales, Rhodri faced pressure both from the English and, increasingly, from Vikings, called the "black gentiles" in the Welsh sources..The Danish are recorded ravaging Anglesey in 854...Rhodri won a notable victory killing the Danish leader Gorm in 855..Gorm was "old" in the sense that he has always been considered the traditional ancestral "head" offa the Danish monarchy..Frequent attacks occurred on the island during the second half of the 10th century on the island; Olaf of Dublin built a castle known as 'Olaf's Castle' or 'Castell Bon y Dom' about the year 1000..Viking contact was certainly hostile and brutal at times, but often opportunist..The nature of Viking settlement in Wales remains one of the mysteries of early medieval archaeology, none more so than on Anglesey..Physical evidence of the Vikings in Wales is even less definite..Certainly, we know that the Vikings were familiar with Anglesey because of the place-names of Scandinavian origin which have been given to prominent coastal features as navigational aids..For a more realistic picture of Viking Wales, we have to turn to archaeology..Most Viking silver (treasure) found in Wales has been discovered in coastal areas..

Wales in the Movies: The Vikings (1958) ..

Rhodri was the son of Merfyn Frych, (the Freckled) who had claimed Gwynedd upon the extinction fa Cunedda's male line..

The city of Swansea was founded by the imperialist Sweyn Forkbeard, King of Denmark, who by 1013 was King of the Danes, Anglo-Saxons and Norwegians.. Swansea is a corruption of the Norse Sweyns Ey, which means "Sweyn's island".. The island refers to the area around the estuary of the river Tawe.. The neighboring Gower Peninsula has some place names of Norse O-rigin (such as Worm's Head; worm is the Norse word for dragon, as the Vikings believed that the serpent-shaped island was a sleeping dragon)..Twenty miles (32 kilometres) west of Cardiff on the Vale of Glamorgan coast is the semi-flooded island of Tusker Rock, which takes its name from Tuska, the Viking who established a settlement in the area..The Bryn Maelgwyn hoard of coins near Llandudno was deposited in the mid-1020s, and may be Viking booty rather than local savings; and a remarkable hoard of 5 complete Viking silver arm rings of were found in the at Red Wharf Bay, Anglesey..It is also close to Castell Mawr Rock, thought to be the site of an Iron Age fort, but today the rock is a protected refuge for nesting seabirds..Shannon ("wise river") is an Irish name, Anglicised from Sionainn.. Strangely Mr Shannon also had 6 stab wounds to his back, while Amanda had ‘defensive wounds’ on her hands and 13 stab wounds, one supposedly inflicted by a corkscrew, to her body, according to Andalucia-based English language newspaper The Olive Press in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar - Ingrid van Houten-Groeneveld (October 1921 – 30 March 2015) was a Dutch astronomer..By eating the fruit or one of the salmon, one can share in this wisdom..

The Norman invasion of Wales began shortly after the Norman conquest of England under William the Conqueror, who believed England to be his birthright..It was not William's intention to invade Wales also, but Welsh attacks under King Gruffudd ap Llywelyn, unifier of Wales, against the Normans in England, beginning in the years prior to the main Norman invasion in 1066, eventually forced William's hand.. Initially (1067–1081), the invasion of Wales was not undertaken with the fervor and purpose of the invasion of England..It took some time for the Normans to concentrate any level of might against the Welsh, however, as they were more concerned, in the aftermath of Hastings, with England and Normandy.. In addition, it was not William’s goal to conquer Wales; he had come to inherit what he believed to be his birthright, the English throne, which entailed taking on the responsibilities of Edward and the Anglo-Saxon kings, including their relationships with Wales and Scotland..However, Wales had begun to force the matter, supporting English rebellions against the Normans..Nonetheless, the Normans pressed on..The name of Normandy itself denotes the Viking origin.. After their settlement when it became known as "northMania" or Land of The Norsemen - Gene banks are a type of biorepository which preserve genetic material in Rome Priest...

The Abergavenny Murder - First transmitted on 18 May 2004, this story is based on a reference from Conan Doyle's short story The Adventure of the Priory School: "...Holmes receives a visit from Dr. Thorneycroft Huxtable, the founder and principal of a preparatory school called Priory School in Northern England..He beseeches Holmes to come back to Mackleton with him to look into the disappearance of one of his pupils, the ten-year-old Lord Saltire, whose father is the very rich and famous Duke of Holdernesse.. Huxtable explains that not only the boy has disappeared, but also the German master, Heidegger, along with his bicycle..The Client - Ioan Meredith..

Andrew Sachs as Doctor John Watson..

Abergavenny is promoted as a "Gateway to Wales"..The Offa's Dyke Path is close by and the Marches Way, the Beacons Way and Usk Valley Walk all pass through the town..The name derives from a Brythonic word Gobannia meaning "river of the blacksmiths", and relates to the town's pre-Roman importance in iron smelting..Abergavenny grew as a town in early Norman times under the protection of the Lords of Abergavenny..The first Baron was Hamelin de Balun, from Ballon, a small town and castle in Maine-Anjou called "Gateway to Maine", near Le Mans, today in the Sarthe département of France..He founded the Benedictine priory, now the Priory Church of St Mary, in the late 11th century..The church contains some unique alabaster effigies, church monuments and unique medieval wood carving, such as the Tree of Jesse..In 1175, Abergavenny Castle was the site of the Massacre - Owain Glyndwr attacked Abergavenny in 1404..According to popular legend, his raiders gained access to the walled town with the aid of a local woman who sympathised with the rebellion, letting a small party in via the Market Street gate at midnight.. They were able to open the gate and allow a much larger party who set fire to the town and plundered its churches and homes leaving Abergavenny Castle intact..Market Street has been referred to as "Traitors' Lane" thereafter..

Is there time before we leave, for lesson number 3?..Black Queen on the red King, Mistress..

Lord Abergavenny is a character in William Shakespeare's play Henry VIII...

Abergavenny railway station opened 2 January 1854 by the Newport & Hereford Railway..A cattle market has been held in Abergavenny on its current site since 1863..Various markets are held in the Market Hall, for example, Wednesdays– flea market, 2nd Saturday of each month – craft fair - Thomas Watkins was born in about 1876, the fifth of se7en children, and grew up in Abergavenny, Wales..In June 1909 he responded to an advert for the position of manservant to Lawrence Kirbridge..When newly married Elizabeth arrived with Rose at her new home in Greenwich - Adolf Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess was kept under escort at Maindiff Court Military Hospital during the Second World War, after his flight to Britain..Abergavenny is twinned with Östringen in Germany, Beaupréau in France and Sarno in Italy...

John Addington Symonds (5 October 1840 – 19 April 1893) was an English poet and literary critic.. A cultural historian, he was known for his work on the Renaissance, as well as numerous biographies of writers and artists.. Although he married and had a family, he was an early advocate of male love (homosexuality), which he believed could include pederastic as well as egalitarian relationships, referring to it as l'amour de l'impossible (love of the impossible)..He also wrote much poetry inspired by his homosexual affairs..In 1862 Symonds was elected to an open fellowship at the conservative Magdalen..He made friends with a C. G. H. Shorting, whom he took as a private pupil.. When Symonds refused to help Shorting gain admission to Magdalen, the younger man wrote to school officials alleging "that I [Symonds] had supported him in his pursuit of the chorister Walter Thomas Goolden (1848–1901), that I shared his habits and was bent on the same path." Although Symonds was officially cleared of any wrongdoing, he suffered a breakdown from the stress and shortly thereafter left the university for Switzerland..There he met Janet Catherine North (sister of botanical artist Marianne North, 1830–1890)..They married at Hastings on 10 November 1864..They settled in London and had 4 daughters: Janet (born 1865), Charlotte (born 1867), Margaret (Madge) (born 1869) and Katharine..He had a passion for Italy and for many years resided during the autumn in the house of his friend, Horatio F Brown, on the Zattere, in Venice.. He died in Rome and was buried close to the grave of Percy Bysshe Shelley..Symonds' daughter, Madge Vaughan, was probably writer Virginia Woolf's first same-sex crush, though there is no evidence that the feeling was mutual..Soldier Love, or Soldatenliebe since it was limited to a German edition..

Fleetwood Mac (Official Music Video) Tusk ..

Along with one of Crowley's disciples, Kenneth Grant, Symonds edited and republished Crowley's autobiography and a number of his other works..After a period of writing children's books Symonds returned to biographies with Madame Blavatsky, Medium & Magician, a life of the famous Theosophist..

Usk (Welsh: Brynbuga) is a small town in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales, situated 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Newport - Population 2,834 - The town takes its English name from the River Usk - a name derived from an ancient Brythonic word for river which may also mean "abounding in fish"..The Roman legionary fortress of Burrium was founded on the site of Usk by the military commander Aulus Didius Gallus, around AD 55..He moved his XX Valeria Victrix legion into the area from its earlier base at Glevum (Gloucester).. It was the earliest legionary fortress in Wales..The Normans also realised Usk's geographical and military importance within the region, and the powerful de Clare family built Usk Castle as part of their plans for controlling the area's resources and people..A Benedictine priory was founded around 1170, and part of the building is retained in the church of St. Mary..Usk was the birthplace of Adam of Usk..His chronicle records the 'Welsh Revolt' in 1403, when Owain GlyndWr burned Usk to the ground while gaining control of much of South Wales from the English under King Henry IV and his son, later to become King Henry V..Usk was the site of the martyrdom of Jesuit father David Lewis..A castle above the town overlooks the ancient crossing point.. It developed as a small market town, with some industry including the making of Japanware, and a notable pison.. It was built in 1842-44 to a Victorian 'rotunda' design, similar to that of Pentonville in London..Usk was twinned with the German town Graben-Neudorf in Baden-Württemberg in 1980..Usk is an unincorporated community in Pend Oreille County, Washington, US - HMS Usk (N65) spent most of her short career operating in the Mediterranean - Ale is a type of beer brewed using a warm fermentation method, resulting in a sweet, full-bodied & fruity taste...

Jones is a surname of English origins, meaning "John's son".. It is most common in Wales and south central England..In Ireland the surname has Been Gaelicized as MacSeoin..Jones remains the most popular surname in Wales..

A US expert claimed that the same emissions left over our skies by large commercial airliners are a “covert operation” and could allegedly cause biblical style floods that will pour down toxic chemicals leaving catastrophic results..“They’re long trails of cirrus clouds that stretch across the horizon and then spread out across the sky“..It’s a covert global operation of chemical spraying technology designed to deliver sulphide gases to the earth’s atmosphere to control the amount of carbon dioxide present..The aerosols are dispersed via jet aircraft trails that expand into reflective artificial clouds..The particles, including aluminium, could be absorbed through the skin or breathed in,“Aluminium has been linked to Alzheimer’s & Dementia, and the rates of both have skyrocketed in recent years”..Many people believe it is easy to spot when chemtrailing is taking place..

Snowden..
Quote:

The coat of arms of the Gebirgsjägerbrigade 23..

The English name "Snowdon" comes from the Old English snaw dun, meaning "snow hill", as Snowdon often has a covering of snow..The environment of Snowdon, particularly its rare plants, has led to its designation as a national nature reserve..In addition to plants that are widespread in Snowdonia, Snowdon is home to some plants rarely found elsewhere in Britain.. These include the "Snowdon lily", Gagea serotina, which is also found in the Alps and in North America..It was originally known as mountain spiderwort..It became a protected species in the UK in 1975 under the Conservation of Wild Creatures and Wild Plants Act..

Edward & Shane Smith (VICE on HBO: Season 4, Episode 13)..

The edelweiss flower was the symbol of Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS Gebirgsjäger, or mountain rangers, worn as a metal pin on the left side of the mountain cap, on the band of the service dress cap, and as a patch on the right sleeve.. It is still the symbol of the mountain brigade in the German army today..Gebirgsjäger are the light infantry part of the alpine or mountain troops (Gebirgstruppe) of Germany & Austria.. The word Jäger (meaning "hunter" or "huntsman") is a characteristic term used for light-infantry or light-infantryman in German-speaking military context..A soldier is allowed to wear the edelweiß on the forage cap after he has completed the "Edelweißmarsch"...The World War II Luftwaffe unit, Kampfgeschwader 51 (51st Bomber Wing) was known as the Edelweiss Wing...

In Welsh mythology, Math fab Mathonwy, was a king of Gwynedd who needed to rest his feet in the lap of a virgin unless he was at war, or he would dye..The magician Gwydion (brother), devised a plan to make Goewin available..Gwydion told his uncle about an animal that was new to Wales, called pigs, and how he could get them from their owner, Pryderi of Dyfed..

Now the Maiden was with Math continually..

He took a band of men, including his brother, to Ceredigion, where they disguised themselves as bards to gain audience with King Pryderi + The story of Math is the fourth of the Four Branches of the Mabinogi..Gugal anna was sent by the Gods to take retribution upon Gilgamesh for rejecting the sexual advances of the goddess Inanna..Gugalanna, whose feet made the earth shake, was slain and dismembered by Gilgamesh and his companion Enkidu + While Math went to battle, Gilfaethwy raped Goewin...
