Man Totally Transforms The Inside of His Home For His 22 Rescue Cats

When Peter Cohen purchased his California house back in 1988, he couldn’t possibly have imagined the transformation that 22 cats would have on inside almost 30 years later. Back at the time, he was caring for two feral cats who seemed to come with the property. However, when both cats were hit by cars in separate incidents, Cohen feared for their lives and decided to renovate the entire indoors of his home to mimic the type of home cats could only dream about.

Monsanto Has Created The First Genetically Modified Strain of Marijuana

Monsanto, the multi-billion agribusiness giant, has announced today it has patented the first genetically modified strain of marijuana.

The news has been welcomed by some scientists and leaders of the agriculture business. On one hand it is seen as a potential step forward towards the industrial use of marijuana and hemp products and could bring about a major shift towards marijuana policies in the U.S.A.

…But on the other hand, other prominent figures in the community fear genetically modified cannabis will mix with other strains and could destroy the diversity of DNA, a reality some deem a very real threat if we look at recent examples of GM maize ‘accidentally’ cross-breading with non-GM maize.

Under present US federal law, it is illegal to possess, use, buy, sell, or cultivate marijuana, since the Controlled Substances Act of 1970 classifies marijuana as a Schedule I drug, although it has been decriminalized to some extent in certain states, Monsanto’s interest in the field has been interpreted by experts as the precursor to “a major shift in marijuana policy in the US”.

Chester Bennington Chooses ‘Ink, Not Mink’

https://www.peta.org/wp-content/uplo...ngton-PETA.jpg

As a big animal-lover and supporter of animal rights, Chester is speaking out against fur because of the inherent cruelty of the fur industry. Says Chester, “Electrocuting animals, skinning them while they’re alive—these are acts of inhumanity.” He explains, “Because it’s out of sight, it’s usually out of mind for most people, and we need to show our respect for all creatures of this world.”

In addition to boycotting fur, Chester also promotes adopting homeless animals rather than buying animals from pet stores and encourages his fans to always spay and neuter their dogs and cats—all great ways to help animals.

Check out behind-the-scenes footage from Chester’s photo shoot and find out what else you can do to help animals.

How To Make Marijuana Brownies

When making ‘marijuana edibles’, you don’t just throw the marijuana buds into the food and chow down, believe it or not. The THC (tetra-hydro-cannibol — the main active ingredient in marijuana) must first be extracted into a butter or oil mixture and then added or cooked with the food.

Death of Cecil's cub Xanda 'a devastating loss': conservationist

Harare - The death of another iconic lion at the hands of a trophy hunter in Zimbabwe is a “devastating loss” that adds to pressures already threatening the species, a leading conservationist has said.

Xanda, the six-year-old cub of his famous father Cecil, was shot and killed earlier this month by a hunter after he wandered out of the sanctuary of Hwange National Park.

It was a grim replay of Cecil’s death, who died at the hands of a US bow hunter outside Hwange in July 2015.

More vulnerable

"It (the death of Xanda) is a devastating loss potentially," said Dr Luke Hunter, president and chief conservation officer with Panthera, the global wild cat conservation group.

He said Xanda was a pride lion with his own cubs, and his death would make the members of his pride more vulnerable.

“I think that is a larger concern, as well as just the loss of the individual,” Hunter told News24 in an interview from New York.
