Paul Weller interviewing his hero, the late Curtis Mayfield, most likely before Mayfield's gig at Ronnie Scott's Jazz club in the Soho area of London on 31st July 1988.

The video was shown on Channel 4 & released on home video, it is still available on dvd. The Paul Weller interview was placed inbetween the songs but was neither promoted nor mentioned on the cover. Most people stumbled across it by accident when watching the film.

Here's Weller being interviewed this time - and one of his best songs I think, Blood Sports.

Here's a Paul Weller track a mate of mine put me onto tonight...it's a little gem I reckon, and is from his solo career.

Yes I always liked this one..it has their early rawness but a bit more slick, not too polished though... which gives it an edge.

Do you reckon he'll ever get The Jam back together, and would it be a good move?

I don't think he would get the Jam back together...but if he did it would likely be a sign that his solo career had reached a dead end!

This thread has made something clear to me, that youthful exuberance, energy and creativity beats experience and maturity! Would you agree with that? Here's Paul's latest offering to help you make up your mind...

When Your Gardens Overgrown

(Hope the titles not a hint to his missus to improve her grooming habits!)

That song is ok, the Youtube comments say it's like Blur. I hear the similarity in places. But I know what you mean. There's something about being younger and even not really knowing what you're doing, that allows you to produce fresh and enduring work. I also like when artists mature.

I doubt he'd reform The Jam and it'd probably not be a good idea. Stranger things have happened though.

This one's got Bruce Foxton singing lead. I think their voices blended really well a bit like Lennon and McCartneys did, probably a part of the Jam's charm.

This Weller covering his beloved Small Faces in 1991 with the Paul Weller Movement. Well worth a watch.
