tip toe, tip toe, first it's the car, next it's in your home, then it's something else.

Banning smoking in cars with children is a sensible thing let's be real here.
Next has to be smoking with babies in push chairs and outside school gates.
It's a horrible thing to see and I don't really think other people's children should have to put up with such selfish behaviour.
And yes, I am an ex smoker! But when I did smoke, I went out of my way to keep my habit my choice. Ie down wind of others or out of range.

so when drinking in your own home is a offence are you going to defend that aswell? absolute ignorance like always, this is all the support from the public they need to do whatever they like and take your rights away, problem reaction, solution.

Mate trust me smoking does not help your health. Medically I've treated many people dying of emphysema from smoking and its a horrific way to die. Agreed it does somehow not effect some people but it's a big fucking risk.

I quit smoking last year and will always miss it but can never go back

Ignorance? If it takes these steps to stop truly ignorant and selfish people then maybe?

My post is nothing to do with the loss of freedom or drinking in your home, so don't try and link it.
btw can I ask what is your opinion about people who smoke around children?

And what are your guidelines and personal definitions for ignorant selfish people, and what laws to make for them? and what is your stopping point.

Should they make it against the law to smoke in your own home as well, just in case there maybe a child involved?

And what makes you think they wont stop at the car anyway?

It's nothing whatsoever to do with you, me or the Government.

No, I guess you're right. I think "they" should reintroduce smoking in cinemas, restaurants, pubs, public buildings, planes and any other enclosed space.. Fuck it. Let's go the whole hog and scrap those stupid crash helmet laws too! Plenty of people complained about these" loss of liberty" at the time. But I think we as a society are better for these losses, right?

And I am sure that any one reading this who has had a loved one die became of smoking ( and I include my father and grandmother )will side with you and join your crusade for freedom and personal choice.

This is NOT about that and you know it.

Actually they should bring back pubs, bars and the like for smokers, what about freedom of owning your own bar restaurant for smokers only, it would the patrons responsibility/free will choice to walk in or not. In a lot of states the business owner is not given that right. Why is that??

Yes, I am sure there are plenty of agendas. If I didn't, I wouldn't have been brought to the DI site in the first place.
It is about protecting children from selfish adults. Funny how some people prioritise?

What about protecting children from megalomaniacs who want to use the force of law to make other people behave as they want them to ?

Yeah! And what about the rights of paedophiles? They've been getting a lot of bad press recently.
