This is a song by Burt Bacharach and amongst many singers on the recording is a certain Elvis Costello. Check out the lyrics closely - definitely not what you'd expect from the guy who wrote Walk On By.
I like that, but I wouldn't say it's Burts first conscious effort....here's an old classic in black and white no less, amazing songwriter this guy.

This song is featured in the Yellow Submarine film by the Beatles...a very important film I think which is shown by how difficult it is to get hold of. I could be wrong but I dont think it is officially available on DVD etc...which is amazing considering how much revenue anything by the Beatles generates.

I think it must be the work of the Blue Meanies...ie the Illuminati! Getting a little bit too close to the truth no doubt.

The Beatles-Nowhere Man

For anyone interested in how the Beatles sounded so good here's a guy breaking the harmonies in Nowhere Man down into their parts...really interesting....to me!

Default Aphrodite's Child- Four Horsemen

I'm guessing a lot of people haven't heard of this band...but check em out, Aphrodite's Child. They were a psychedelic 60's outfit, Greek I think with lead singer Demis Roussos before he made it big in opera (I think, dont know much about opera..), not sure who played guitar but he was shit hot...

Anyway here it is, a classic by the band from their amazing album 666,

A poignant pop song - my favourite Newman tune

Randy Newman / Baltimore

Beat up little seagull
On a marble stair
Tryin' to find the ocean
Lookin' everywhere

Hard times in the city
In a hard town by the sea
Ain't nowhere to run to
There ain't nothin' here for free

Hooker on the corner
Waitin' for a train
Drunk lyin' on the sidewalk
Sleepin' in the rain

And they hide their faces
And they hide their eyes
'Cause the city's dyin'
And they don't know why

Oh Baltimore
Man it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to life, just to live

Get my sister Sandy
And my little brother Ray
Buy a big old wagon
To haul us all away

Live out in the country
Where the mountain's high
Never comin' back here
'Til the day I die

Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live
Oh, Baltimore
Man, it's hard just to live, just to live
