Default 'Britain belongs to the EU' Shultz

The President of the European Parliament has told ITV News that Britain should stay in the European Union - as it belongs to it.

http://www.itv.com/news/2015-06-17/m...ngs-to-the-eu/

Martin Schultz is in the UK to meet with the Prime Minister to discuss his proposals tomorrow.

Schultz said he was looking forward to hearing what Mr Cameron has to say but refused to use the term "UK relationship" with the EU.

"You cannot have a relationship with yourself. The EU is and Britain are one thing. The UK belongs to the EU."

The Eurof├╝hrer generously conceded that "important member states like the EU have the right to discuss their role within the EU" but we can't change any treaties because then other member states will want to.

A lesson in sovereignty and democracy from Herr Schulz, the man who became EU Commission president without a single one of the 742.5m people who live in the EU voting for him.
