@pete675

A BA ring is now admitted by the mainstream media:

http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/50...wood-kenya.htm

'Lawyers are investigating claims that British Airways staff were involved in the sexual abuse of hundreds of vulnerable children in African schools and orphanages.

One suspect, First Officer Simon Wood, died after throwing himself in front of a train two days after appearing in court charged with indecently assaulting a girl under 14.

At least two other Britons have now been implicated in the claims, including one BA employee, according to solicitors Leigh Day, which is representing 12 of the alleged victims.'

You are doing some sterling work on this case. I wonder if tonight we should start up a separate thread in the Child Abuse section and try and shift your articles over in date order?

We could then perhaps email the link to the thread to the relevant authorities? Really think you have joined some dots!
Thx Sweets. Looks probable this is the same woman. Unless there are two different Mama Lucys running orphanages in Nairobi. But these articles imply working with multiple houses. Kayola and Kibera are two small districts within Southside Nairobi. I looked up Nakura region on Googlemap. It's about 70 km north of Nairobi.

Only two months ago, the Nairobi Street Children Rehabilitation Centre in Kayole was caught in a nasty public row with one of its benefactors...

Simon Wood, a British Airways pilot who was the main fundraiser for the centre...

The centre, which was also called Mama Lucy's Home, was run by its founder, Lucy Ndemo...

The scandal led to key donors withdrawing support for the project and some of the children being taken to other institutions. Wood took three of the older children to a neighbouring primary school amid protests from Ndemo who wanted the teenagers to remain in a nursery class in the home.

Learning at the home never went beyond nursery...

Lucy Ndemo knows it will be hard for her to keep the promise her government put in place. Ndemo is a [governmental] District Officer in Nakuru, a city that saw the most ethnically diverse population of IDPs in Kenya.

Lucy Kayiwa is on a mission: to rescue abandoned children in Kenya's biggest shanty town

On the walls of the refuge that Mama Lucy runs for abandoned children in Kibera, a slum on the fringes of Nairobi, hang drawings depicting scenes of extreme mob violence.

Mama Lucy (everyone calls her that, but her proper name is Lucy Kayiwa) is Ugandan, which conferred on her a certain Swiss-style neutrality amid the general mayhem. Mama Lucy has lived 40 of her 64 years in Kibera...

In 1984... she decided to volunteer for the St Vincent de Paul Society, a Catholic organisation that in Kibera dedicated itself to care for orphans... As a nursery school teacher at an affluent Kenya school for more than 20 years
I think you're right about a new thread. This may grow into something big.

A female manager at an orphanage in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi was involved in facilitating the abuse, according to victims' evidence.

Officials at the Tulia Kidzone orphanage in Nairobi said one of their managers was dismissed in January after granting Wood access to vulnerable children in return for money and gifts.

Accountants uncovered a "myriad of financial issues" in Wood's handling of charitable donations to the centre.

Wood is suspected of bribing a network of associates to secure access to children, and remaining silent over the abuse, said managers.

He is also believed to have had connections with the Nyumbani Children's Home for HIV-infected children in Kenya.

Oh, he is "believed to have had connections." Come on. We know the lamestream media is reading this forum. They really need to catch up to speed.

Default Thank you!

Thank you all for what you are doing, you have helped me understand more about Simon Wood, and get information that fills some of the gaps we have. I am one of the people working on Mr. Wood's case in Kenya. Thanks, again.

It is wonderful to know that there are people out there who will go out on a limb for the children- I did.

Can anyone find out of Wood had prescription(s) for Lidocaine in the UK? We found vials of the injection drugs in one of his bags.

Simon Wood was with Elisha Njeru during this trip. Eli Njeru served as the Chairman of the Tulia Kidzone Center, until in May, 2013 when attempts to have the children moved by Wood and company to a location where it would have been easier to continue with the abuse or cover it up came a cropper. While chairing the Board, Eli Njeru had included, as a trustee to the children's home, Mr. Wood's lawyer. Yes, he who had been defending Wood against allegations of abuse from as far back as 2005.... that lawyer has been acting as the trustee. Imagine that!

On July 25, 2005 the Standard newspaper in Kenya ran an article in which Mama Lucy complained that Simon Wood had inappropriate contact with the children, after which the article you have was ran to counter that. We have email exchanges from Simon to his lawyer and a journalist discussing possible responses to deal with the newspaper article.

Wow Troyhand, you don't waste any time getting the new thread going! The BA guy I mentioned earlier, Paul Hudspith, who was a BA colleague and visited at least one school with Wood also visited other schools, one being the Bishop Mutua School in Kenya

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=BYBNoFDw43Y

I found another website of his in which he answers the question of occupation as 'Chicken or Beef'. Maybe nothing but sadly since getting involved in Savile thread, I now understand the meaning of chicken, though don't know if beef means anything???

https://plus.google.com/app/basic/10...ource=apppromo

He is also a member of 'couchsurfers' which seem to offer and receive nights on sofas. He appears to have a girlfriend but his offer was a little unusual, offering a night in his girlfriend's tiny one room flat 'on a camp bed at 90 degree angle to their bed'. Call me old fashioned

It also shows a list and dates of his travelling with Uganda, Nairobi and Mombasa listed amongst others. All of the feedback is extremely positive although the term 'open minded' does crop up a fair bit and one odd comment 26th May 2012 India.
'BTW if you like puzzles you may consider asking him about his girlfriend's!'

Welcome to the thread Wangui. I doubt anyone will be able confirm prescription for Lidocaine, although I am sure you are aware it is a local analgesic and also apparently sometimes mixed with cocaine to make it appear stronger due to the numbing effect.

'Chicken or beef' is probably a reference to his being a flight attendant ("Coffee, Tea or Milk?") If he's not a flight attendant then he better think quick about going Vegan...(I type as I brush the bacon bits off the front of my shirt).

The Couchtripping activities could be shady if done by predators, but I'll keep my judgement open on him over that. Like you said, we were young once.

Don't know what to think of him. He's a performer, that's for sure. If he turns up having to have flown often with Simon Wood or went on other visits with him, then he definitely needs interrogated.

Yikes! Was he injecting the children with Lidocaine before he raped them? The UK police definitely need to find out where he got those vials.

Simon Wood Prior to joining BA had previously had worked as helicopter pilot on North Sea operations and as a freelance pilot on helicopters, including flying very senior politicians in the run up to one general election.

In the early nineties he was a Captain on Viscounts on mail flights between Edinburgh and Coventry, I think the company was British Air Ferries. After that he was a Captain on BAC 1-11 flying out of Edinburgh or Glasgow for a charter airline. After that I think he went to BA.

I was introduced to Simon Wood through a friend, who was a dietician, who worked on the same summer camps for a number of years for diabetic children. Simon would also turn up in a R22 to these summer camps and take both children and adults on pleasure flights.

In the time I knew Simon Wood he never really seemed settled, he always seemed to want to change direction, despite being well qualified and experienced, at one stage he wanted to become an instructor at Oxford, and at another stage he considered taking taking up holy Orders. He was as I understand it similar to Jimmy Saville, a Roman catholic and I never was aware he was ever in a relationship with a woman or man.

But like the BBC, I'm not sure how nobody within BA as an organisation never became suspicious.

Surely if universities are to become popular, they will need lively presenters who can touch the hearts of their customers with stories of their charity work, for instance. Then the customers, or more likely their well-off parents, will be glad to pay for someone with his finger on their pulse thus.

In my day, however, lectures, as long as you could stay awake after your own nocturnal fieldwork, were interesting and revealing. I remember when the elderly linguist Roman Jakobson came to talk to us, we hung on his every word.

What money can’t buy, though, in this country, is children. These must be somehow pied-pipered in via the charity sector which is aptly geared to step in wherever government has failed to find suitable commercial stakeholders.

Sure sounds like Pedopilot Simon yacking.

The company has a fleet of helicopters which fly from their base at Elstree Aerodrome, north of London - to get there by train take a Thameslink train to Elstree and Borehamwood departing from King's Cross (journey time 22 minutes). Helicopters are available for private charter, corporate days and major sporting events. Anyone know why Cabair Helicopters have had their operating licence suspended?

In short, Cabair, in all its forms, has all but ceased to exist. The various legal entities in and around the Cabair Group are either in administration, struck off, liquidated or dormant. Helicopter operations at Elstree have been taken over by Helicopter Services and it is now a satellite to their Booker operation.

Have noticed that the Elstree NOTAMS have recently said "not available for a/c requiring a licenced aerodrome" - is this why training has ceased?
...
Nah, they lost their licensed status a while back as someone grassed them up to the CAA about the state of the runway!

There used to be a least two R22s there and one or two R44s, they sold some, it dropped to just one R22, and they also fell out with the private owners of the turbines. Who knows what's happening now.
...
Cabair Helicopters was sold to Aerial Camera Systems last year for £1. ACS already had an AOC - so can't see that it was even worth £1.
...
Whilst it's been nearly 15 years since I had any contact with Cabair helis (SOLH had just been based there for people with long memories), I seem to recall that they never owned any of the aircraft (as is/was usual with them) it was just a marketing operation. The 355's were owned (IIRC) by Walsh aviation which had a tenuous link (I think) but all the main training aircraft were privately owned and rented back.

Telegraph - 28 Sep 2005
Birthday gift flying lesson ends in tragedy

Two off-duty policemen died when their microlight aircraft was struck by a helicopter in which a man was receiving his first lesson as a surprise birthday present, an inquest was told yesterday.

The microlight plunged to the ground and Ian Alexander, 44, a sergeant with Hertfordshire police, and his colleague, Andrew Morton, 41, a constable, died on impact.

The helicopter was piloted by Simon Wood, who was giving instruction to Stephen Messenger, who had been bought a one-off lesson by his wife for his 30th birthday.

The inquest, at Hatfield, Herts, heard that the skids of the helicopter appeared to rip the wing off the microlight.

The accident, in July last year [2004], happened in daylight in clear conditions and witnesses said neither aircraft appeared to take avoiding action.

Mr Alexander, from Hemel Hempstead, who was piloting the microlight, and Mr Morton, from Cranfield, Beds, died from multiple injuries.

The helicopter was operated by Cabair, a company offering training and charter flights, based at Elstree, Herts.

Mr Wood, who has 25 years' experience as a helicopter pilot, said his craft was fitted with dual controls. He and his student were checking gauges when he suddenly noticed the microlight straight ahead.

He immediately steered left. "No sooner had I moved the control stick, and before the helicopter had made any significant movement, there was a very loud bang."

He estimated that the collision happened less than six seconds after he first noticed the microlight. The helicopter windscreen was knocked out and Mr Wood received an injury to his foot.

The microlight crashed into trees at Welham Green, Herts, and the helicopter made an emergency landing at nearby Brookmans Park.

Mr Messenger said he did not see the microlight. "I didn't know what hit us," he said.

Paul Hannant, an accident investigator, said that both pilots were using different radio frequencies and were unaware of each other.

The inquest continues.

http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/news/635701.print/
Watford Observer - 29th September 2005
Call for research after air crash deaths

TWO policemen were killed when their microlight collided with a helicopter, sending them plummeting to their deaths.

Police Sergeant Ian Alexander, 44, a qualified microlight pilot with 15 years flying experience, had taken off in the microlight from an airstrip in St Albans with his friend PC Andy Morton, 41, from Cranfield, in Bedfordshire.

The off-duty officers, from Hertfordshire Constabulary's road traffic policing unit, were returning from Hunsdon to Plaistow Farm near Potters Crouch when the fatal crash happened at 12.50pm on July 6 last year.

Hatfield Coroners Court heard this week how the aircraft had plunged to the ground after it was "catastrophically" damaged in a collision with a Robinson R22 helicopter at a combined speed of up to 140mph.

Speaking at the inquest, Andrew Robinson of the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said the microlight's wing had been severed by the helicopter blades. There was nothing Mr Alexander, who was born in St Albans, could have done to control it.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the pair had died from multiple injuries as the Hybrid 44XLR Microlight ploughed into woods off Dixons Hill Roads, Welham Green.

Dr Peter Ticehurst, a glider pilot, was in a car travelling north up the A1M when he saw both aircraft heading towards each other. Neither appeared to deviate from their course.

He said: "As they got closer, my reaction was Crikey. They're going to collide' and a few seconds later they did. The wings appeared to fold up above the aircraft."

Helicopter pilot Simon Woods, who had been flying helicopters for 25 years, spotted the microlight seconds before impact. He said: "It was straight ahead, very slightly below me and was coming towards me. I tried to move the helicopter left.

"There was a very loud bang and a fierce thump to my left foot. I realised we must have hit it. There was a brief moment of being stunned and I became aware the windscreen was missing."

He made an emergency landing and mayday signal in a nearby field. Passenger Stephen Messenger, who was on his first flying lesson, a 30th birthday present from his wife, ran to a house and raised the alarm.

The helicopter, which was operated by Cabair, had left Elstree Aerodrome and flown to Enfield. It crossed the A1 south of the M25, headed towards St Albans then east towards Potters Bar and Hatfield.

The jury heard how the pilots had been on different radio frequencies and that it may have been difficult to see each other as the white helicopter was set against fluffy clouds and the black microlight against shadows on the ground.

Recording verdicts of accidental death, coroner Edward Thomas backed recommendations made by the AAIB to the Civil Aviation Authority to carry out more research into the visibility of aircraft.

After the hearing, Mr Morton's parents, Michael and Barbara Morton, said: "Nothing can bring Andrew back. It was helpful hearing all the facts, but it doesn't change anything we've lost a son and three boys have lost a father. Every day is still very hard."

Mr Alexander's wife Sarah, of Hemel Hempstead said: "We'll probably never know the full facts because the only two people who truly know what happened are not here today. I hope guidelines are put in place to ensure such a tragic accident can never happen again."

Winners of the Edwards Trophy

1982 No. 41 FW Flt. Lt. Simon J. Wood - RAF United Kingdom
So he has nothing to do with being a notable graduate. Until now, perhaps. If we can prove BA Pilot Simon Wood of Cabair Flying Schools is also Simon J. Wood, RAF ETPS graduate then we got a major link in the ring showing. If he started in 1977 at 18 and made "the greatest progress on the course", could he have become a Flight Lieutenant in 1982?
[B]Simon Wood was RAF, killed two Hertford policemen, shuttled politicians around, raped children for decades, worked a pedoring within BA.

And the fact they were two policemen who died (one a pilot), makes me think of this guy...

Glenn Algar – Potters Bar
Detective jailed for sex grooming

A highly-decorated Flying Squad detective has been jailed for 18 months for trying to groom a schoolgirl for sex over the internet.

Det Con Glenn Algar, 45, from Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, thought he was sending e-mails to the girl.

Sweets. I'm still stunned by this. Are you getting the same search results from google as I am from the ETPS search link? I'm worried Google may change the search results like Wikipedia did and scrub Simon J. Wood's name from the ETPS description on Googlesearch.

If Simon Wood was RAF and graduated with distinction from what looks to be a very prestigious Defence Department-run Test Pilot School that trains British Astronauts (), then he's another connection to back where it all starts... the elites.

What's so notable about him to the Flight School? Was he a child-trafficker?

Something else just struck me. If a pedophile policeman pilot is working road traffic in a helicopter, how easy would it be for him to spot children from the air and signal associates on the ground to grab children out walking on their own?
