When i look at China i see a smart regime that will do what it deems necessary to advance "national interests" at the expense of individual rights. It is sad but they're too populated and diverse to be free at this time. The first republic failed badly and fractured into regional warlordism and it was too easy for Japan to establish its imperial aims there. Taiwan on the other hand being much smaller has matured into a true muti-party demo but not w/out the drama and they're pressured and bullied all the time by China to"integrate" and China is starting to play one ea democracy off against another w/ potentially lucrative limited time trade offers. I wonder if Obama's TPP move is to get in before China gets regional monopoly and that could work out well for free ea states who prefer not be dominated by either. Best case scenario they'll turn into a soft power type force for peace and Asia's free, stable core. The human rights thing will hopefully right itself along w/ rumoured endemic corruption. Yes. Human rights is badly done in China and they're waging an info war on everyone. Ask Taiwan.

It's not really 'easy' is it? It just makes a good headline. If it really was easy then I'd be doing it!
