The media, which includes the Internet, plays an important role.. How it presents depiction of suicide may have a negative effect, with high volume, prominent, repetitive coverage glorifying or romanticizing suicide having the most impact.. When detailed descriptions of how to commit suicide by a specific means is portrayed, this method of suicide may increase in the population as a whole..This trigger of 'suicide contagion' or copycat suicide is known as the Werther effect, named after the protagonist in Goethe's The Sorrows of Young Werther, who committed suicide..This risk is greater in adolescents who may romanticize death..There is no known unifying underlying pathophysiology for either suicide or depression.. It is however believed to result from an interplay of behavioral, socio-environmental and psychiatric factors..There are an estimated 10 to 20 million non-fatal attempted suicides every year.. Attempts are more common in young people and females..For B's, since the first precept is to refrain from the destruction of life, including one's self, suicide is seen as a negative act.. If someone commits suicide in anger, he may be reborn in a sorrowful realm due to negative final thoughts..This reaction, or repercussion, is the cause of conditions and differences one encounters in life...

Quote:
Rational suicide is the reasoned taking of one's own life, although some feel that suicide is never logical.. The act of taking one's life for the benefit of others is known as altruistic suicide..An example of this is an elder ending his or her life to leave greater amounts of food for the younger people in the community.. Suicide in some Eskimo cultures has been seen as an act of respect, courage, or wisdom..A suicide attack is a political action where an attacker carries out violence against others which they understand will result in their own death.. Some suicide bombers are motivated by a desire to obtain martyrdoms.. Kamikaze Missions were carried out as a duty to a higher cause or moral obligation.. Murder–suicide is an act of homicide followed within a week by suicide of the person who carried out the act..The opposite of the Werther effect is the proposed Papageno effect, in which coverage of effective coping mechanisms may have a protective effect.. The term is based upon a character in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute, who (fearing the loss of a loved one) had planned to commit suicide until his friends helped him out..When media follows recommended reporting guidelines the risk of suicides can be decreased.Getting buy-in from industry, however, can be difficult, especially in the long term..During the samurai era in Japan, seppuku was respected as a means of atonement for failure or as a form of protest. Sati, a now outlawed East Indian practice, expected the widow to immolate herself on her husband's funeral pyre, either willingly or under pressure from the Family and Society...

The Moors were the medieval Muslim inhabitants of the Maghreb, Iberian Peninsula, Sicily and Malta.. Their descendants are presently known as the Maghrebis..The Moors invaded the Iberian Peninsula in 711 and called the territory Al-Andalus, an area which at different times comprised Gibraltar, most of Spain and Portugal, and parts of Southern France. There was also a Moorish presence in what is now Southern Italy, primarily in Sicily. They occupied Mazara on Sicily in 827 and in 1224 were Xspelled to the settlement of Lucera, which was destroyed in 1300..The religious difference of the Moorish Muslims led to a centuries-long conflict with the Christian kingdoms of Europe called the Reconquista. The Fall of Granada in 1492 saw the end of the Muslim rule in Iberia..Earlier,Classical Romans interacted with ( later conquered) parts of Mauretania, a state that covered northern portions of modern Morocco and much of north western and central Algeria during the classical period. The people of the region were noted in Classical literature as the Mauri. Today such groups inhabit Mauritania and parts of Algeria, Western Sahara, Morocco, Niger and Mali..In the languages of Europe, a number of associated ethnic groups have been historically designated as "Moors". In the modern Iberian Peninsula, "Moor" is sometimes colloquially applied to any person from North Africa, but some people consider this usage of the term pejorative, whether in the Spanish version "moro", or in the Portuguese version "mouro"..Isidore of Seville, writing in the se7enth century claimed the Latin word Maurus was derived from the Greek mauron, which is the Greek word for black..In the Medieval Romance languages (such as Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, Romanian), the Latin word took such forms as mouro, moro, moir, mor and maur.. From denoting a specific Berber people in western Libya, the name acquired more general meaning in the Romance languages during the medieval period, partly developing a general meaning of "Muslim", partly (much like "Saracens") taking a religious meaning of "infidels" in the context of the Crusades and the Reconquista...

Moorish ArcHitecture is the articulated Berber–Islamic and Hispano–Islamic architecture of North Africa, and the Iberian peninsula..Characteristic elements include muqarnas, horseshoe arches, voussoirs, domes, crenellated arches, lancet arches, ogee arches, courtyards, and decorative tile work..The geology of the North York Moors is dominated by rocks of the Jurassic period..They were mostly laid down in subtropical seas 205 to 142 million years ago. Fluctuations in sea level produced different rock types varying from shales to sandstones and limestones derived from coral.. These marine and delta deposited rocks are superbly exposed on the Yorkshire coast from Staithes to Filey..The North York Moors are drained by 2 main river systems. The northern part of the area is drained by the River Esk and its tributaries. The Esk flows from West to East and empties into the North Sea at Whitby..To the south the moors are drained by the River Derwent and its tributary the River Rye.. The Derwent crosses the Vale of PicKering flowing westwards, turns southwards at Malton and flows through the eastern part of the Vale of York before emptying into the River Ouse at BarmBy on the Marsh..The North York Moors National Park encompasses 2 main types of landscape, whose differences are clearly visible, and the Coastal Belt.. There are predominantly green areas of pasture land and the purple and brown Heather Moorland.. The 2 kinds of scenery are the result of differences in the underlying geology and each supports different wildlife communities...

Incendiary weapons, incendiary devices or incendiary bombs are weapons designed to start fires or destroy sensitive equipmentusing fire (and sometimes used as Anti-personnel weaponry), that use materials such as napalm, thermite, chlorine trifluoride, or white phosphorus.. Though colloquially often known as bombs, they are not explosives but in fact are designed to slow the process of chemical reactions and use ignition rather than detonation to start and or maintain the reaction. Napalm for example, is petroleum especially thickened with certain chemicals into a 'gel' to slow, but not stop, combustion, releasing energy over a longer time frame than an explosive device. In the case of napalm, the gel adheres to surfaces and resists suppression..Incendiary bombs have been used since ancient times. Greek fire, which was used by the Byzantine Empire, is a prime example; it was the cause of many naval victories..In the United States, polonium was produced as part of the Manhattan Project's Dayton Project during World War II. It was a critical part of the implosion-type nuclear weapon design used in the Fat Man bomb on Nagasaki in 1945. Polonium and beryllium were the key ingredients of the 'urchin' detonator at the center of the bomb's spherical plutonium pit.. The urchin ignited the nuclear chain reaction at the moment of prompt-criticality to ensure the bomb did not fizzle..Much of the basic physics of polonium was classified until after the war. The fact that it was used as an initiator was classified until the 1960s..The Atomic Energy Commission and the Manhattan Project funded human experiments using polonium on 5 people..at the University of Rochester between 1943 and 1947. The people were administered between 9 and 22 microcuries (330 and 810 kBq) of polonium to study its X-cretion..The Jesuits provided various kinds of support including military support to Kirishitan daimyo when they were threatened by non-Kirishitan daimyo. Most notable was their support of Omura Sumitada and Arima Harunobu, who fought against the anti-Catholic Ryuzoji clan.. In the 1580s, Valignano believed in the effectiveness of military action and fortified Nagasaki and Mogi.. In 1585, Gaspar Coelho asked the Spanish Philippines to send a fleet but the plan was rejected due to the shortness of its military capability. Christians Protasio Arima and Paulo Okamoto were named as principals in an assassination plot to murder the magistrate in charge of the Shogunate's most important port city of Nagasaki..while maintaining good trading relations with Portugal and Spain, which might have provided military support to Dom Justo Takayama, a Christian Daimyo in western Japan..Father Hubert Schiffer, (1915 - March 27, 1982) was 1 of 8 German Jesuits who survived the nuclear bomb "Little Boy" dropped on Hiroshima. He was only 8 blocks away from ground 0 when the Xplosion occurred.. Some Catholics believe the survival of the priests to have been a miracle. The group of Jesuits survived not only the X-plosion, but its members also survived to the radiation..Skeptics counter that while people inside Nagasaki's Urakami Cathedral were afforded no special protection, there were non-Catholic survivors even closer to the center of the blast in Hiroshima.. IsoBel is a song by Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk. It was produced by Björk and Nellee Hooper for her 3rd studio album, Post (1995).. Written by frequent collaborator Sjón, the song's lyrics have been described as a fairy tale..Björk had written a book with ideas for "Isobel", but couldn't write lyrics that worked, so she reached Sjón to write them.. Along with "Human Behaviour" and "Bachelorette", it tells the story of Isobel, a girl who is born from a spark in a forest and transitions into womanhood while the pebbles of the forest grow into skycrapers and overtake the area... After a bad experience with love in the city, she decides to isolate herself again.. Björk has said the character's name is Isobel instead of Isabel as a reference to "IsolatIon"..The B-side "I Go Humble" is an exact replica of an electronic composition by the British techno band LFO albeit with vocals by Björk being sung over it. The original track can be found on the LFO album Advance, and is titled "Shove Piggy Shove"...And a bayonet, sir, With Somme G's behind..Mr. Bourne

Dolgellau is a market town in Gwynedd, north-west Wales, lying on the River Wnion, a tributary of the River Mawddach. It was the county town of Merionethshire (Welsh: Meirionnydd, Sir Feirionnydd) before that became a part of the county of Gwynedd. Dolgellau is the main base for climbers of Cader Idris..The area upon which Dolgellau stands was, in the pre-Roman Celtic period, part of the tribal lands of the Ordovices, who were conquered by the Romans in 77–78 AD. Although a few Roman coins from the reigns of Emperors Hadrian and Trajan have been found near Dolgellau, the area is marshy and there is no evidence that it was settled during the Roman period. There are, however,3 hill forts in the vicinity of Dolgellau, of uncertain origin..The name of the town is of uncertain origin, although dôl is Welsh for "meadow", and (y) gelli (from celli, pl. cellïoedd/cellïau) means "grove" or "spinney", and is common locally in names for farms in sheltered nooks.. This would seem to be the most likely derivation, giving the translation "Meadow of Groves"known as The Pentavirate, who run everything in the world, including the newspapers, and meet tri-annually at a secret country mansion in Colorado, known as The Meadows..Dolgellau is home to a bilingual further education college, Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor.. The site it occupies was originally home to Dr Williams' School, a direct grant grammar school for girls aged 7–18 established in 1875 (opened 1878). It was named after its benefactor Dr Daniel Williams, (1643–1716) a Nonconformist minister from Wrexham, who also gave his name to Dr Williams's Library in Euston, London. The school closed in 1975..The Queen, The Vatican, The Gettys, The Rothschilds, *and* Colonel Sanders before he went tits up.. Oh, I hated the Colonel with is wee *beady* eyes, and that smug look on his face. "Oh, you're gonna buy my chicken! Ohhhhh!" ..Dolgellau Grammar School, a boys' school, had been established in 1665 by the then Rector of Dolgellau, Dr John Ellis, at Pen Bryn (now demolished), before moving to its present site on the Welshpool road..In 1971 John Elwyn Jones, a retired teacher who had taught Russian, German and Welsh at Dr Williams School, published Pum Cynnig i Gymro ("5 Tries for a Welshman"), an account of his time as a Prisoner of War in Poland during World War II..The surrounding area is known for its wild but beautiful countryside and places of historical interest..Harriet. Harry-ette. Hard-hearted harbinger of haggis. Beautiful, bemuse-ed, bellicose butcher. Un-trust... ing. Un-know... ing.. Un-love... ed..Every summer, Dolgellau is also host to the Gŵyl Cefn Gwlad ("Festival of the Countryside"), a mix of agricultural show and fête. Entry is free, but the Mony raised on the various stalls is given to good causes..Dolgellau is twinned with..Brittany Guérande (Breton:Gwenrann) in Brittany...

Our Lady of Sorrows Church or its full name Our Lady of Se7en Sorrows Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in Dolgellau, Gwynedd.. It was built in 1966 and is a Grade II listed building.. It is situated on Meyrick Street close to the centre of town. It is administered in the Dolgellau Deanery of the Diocese of Wrexham..The founder of the church was Fr. Francis Scalpell, a Maltese priest who was ordained in Rome in 1921 and came to Liverpool in 1926.. There, he started the parish of St. AnThony of Padua in Mossley Hill. In 1938, he went to Haverfordwest and came to Dolgellau a year later..At first, there was no place of worship for the local Catholics, so Mass was said in an old stable, with holes in the walls and the roof. Fr. Scalpell himself stayed in the attic of a nearby barn, which also had holes in the roof. Years later, the old stable was repaired, renovated and enlarged by joining it to a building that was previously a Fish and chip shop. During the Second World War, Italian prisoners of war helped with the panelling and the wooden floor..Within the parish is a convent run by the Carmelites, Mass is said there by the local priest at 5pm every Sunday. Sunday Masses are held in the church in the morning at 9:00am..The church was built in a Norman style architecture with a crucifix above the main EnTrancedesigned by Benigno Mörlin Visconti Castiglione, a sculptor from Milan, who has work displayed in Milan Cathedral and St. Peter's Basilica in Rome..The church was opened in September 1966. It was consecrated on 15 May 1967 by the Bishop of Menevia, John Edward Petit..Guérande is a medieval town located in the département of Loire-Atlantique in western France..The inhabitants are referred to as Guérandais, for men, and Guérandaise, for women..The main towns around Guérande are Saint-Nazaire and Nantes to the East ( 19 km (11.81 mi) and 80 km (49.71 mi) away), and Vannes (70 km (43.50 mi) to the North)..About half of the remaining megalithic monuments of the Département Loire-Atlantique, is located on the Peninsula, which makes it an important area for Prehistory..Very little is known about the succession of religious buildings on the site of the original baptistery built by Prince WaRoch..Brière is a territory of 490 km2 (189.19 sq mi) of which 170 km2 (65.64 sq mi) is wet-lands. This swamp of brackish water is called The Swamp of Grande Brière covers 70 km2 (27.03 sq mi). A massive metal ring with engraved cover stones is discovered in the sands of Giza, Egypt in 1928, by an archaeologist named Langford and his young daughter, Catherine.. Much later, the adult Catherine Langford offers Egyptologist and linguist Daniel Jackson the chance to translate the Egyptian hieroglyphs on the cover stones..Jackson deduces from the hieroglyphs the existence of a "stargate", a device used to travel to distant worlds. He discovers that the accompanying non-hieroglyphic symbols are star constellations used in a three-dimensional coordinate system. When selected in sequence on the metal ring, they create a stable wormhole to a location in another galaxy. O'Neil leads a team with Jackson through the Stargate, and they find themselves inside a pyramid in the middle of a desert.. The team cannot return home because the necessary coordinates are missing. Jackson, O'Neil, and the others explore the surrounding area and discover a mining operation run by humans. The miners assume that they are emissaries of their G Ra..Jackson attempts communication with the locals using pantomime, and later realizes that they speak a modern dialect derived from Ancient Egyptian..At night, a pyramid shaped spacecraft descends over the pyramid. O'Neil and Jackson are captured and taken to Ra, who appears to be an androgynous human youth with glowing eyes. Ra reveals his intention to return to Earth an atomic bomb brought by O'Neil, its destructive power now enhanced 100-fold with the addition of the mined mineral...

1928 January – English Bacteriologist Frederick Griffith reports the results of Griffith's experiment, indirectly proving the existence of DNA.. A German bacteriologist, Fred Neufeld, had discovered the 3 pneumococcal types (Types I, II, and III) and discovered the Quellung reaction to identify them in vitro.. Until Griffith's experiment, bacteriologists believed that the types were fixed and unchangeable, from one generation to another..S. pneumoniae resides asymptomatically in the nasopharynx of healthy carriers. However, in susceptible individuals, such as elderly and immunocompromised people and children, the bacterium may become pathogenic, spread to other locations and cause disease. S. pneumoniae is the main cause of community acquired pneumonia and meningitis in children and the elderly, and of septicemia in HIV-infected persons..In 1881, the organism, known as the pneumococcus for its role as an etiologic agent of pneumonia, was first isolated simultaneously and independently by the U.S. Army physician George Sternberg and the French chemist Louis Pasteur.. Like much of London, Forest Hill was only sparsely populated until the mid-19th century. The name Forest Hill came from 'the forest with a big hill', which was coined by a developer in 1865, and referred to the remaining area of forest on Sydenham Hill which was originally part of the Great North Wood..A canal, the Croydon Canal, was constructed through the area in 1769 but the large number of locks (28) meant it was not a commercial success, and it was bought by the London & Croydon Railway Company who constructed their railway along the same route, opening it in 1839.. The ponds in the Dacres Wood Nature Reserve (Dacres Road) and the retaining wall of the footpath opposite the station outside the pub are about the only physical evidence of the canal which still exist..When the Crystal Palace was moved from Hyde Park to Sydenham, large homes were built on the western end of Forest Hill..In 1884, what would become London's oldest swimming pool was constructed on Dartmouth Road..The tea merchant Frederick Horniman built a museum to house his impressive collection of natural history artifacts. Shorty the Pimp, was released in 1992.. 5 songs were produced by Ant Banks, four by Too Short himself and one song by D'wayne Wiggins..The album title is from the 1973 blaxploitation Movie of the same name, featuring a character of that name.. The first track samples the theme song of the Movie; the soundtrack Was later collected in the funk album Shorty the Pimp by Don Julian & The Larks (who star in the movie)..Songs number3, 4 & 8 are 'dirty songs' rapped in Too Short's unique style. The 5th song is about Oakland.. The sixth song is about crooked cops. The se7enth about groupies (hoochies).. Song number 10 is about being a gangster and criticizing the gang-banger lifestyle in general, one of Too Short's more serious, social commentary songs.. Song 11 features appearances by Bay Area rappers The Dangerous Crew, that is Ant Banks, Pooh-Man & Goldy, which is 11 minutes long.. Greta morgane, also called the "Thick-tipped Greta," is a day active ithomiine butterfly from the subfamily Ithomiinae. The length of the wings of this clearwing butterfly range from 56 to 58 mm. It is a common butterfly in Mexico, Middle-America, and the Caribbean. It has been recorded in 2004 as a stray in south Texas..The caterpillar uses plants from the deadly nightshade family (Solanaceae) as hosts. Therefore, the Greta morgane has body fluids which are nauseating for birds, making them unattractive prey..The Solanaceae consists of approximately 98 genera and some 2,700 species, with a great diversity of habitats, morphology and ecology..The name Solanaceae derives from the genus Solanum, "the nightshade plant". The etymology of the Latin word is unclear. The name may come from a perceived resemblance of certain solanaceous flowers to the sun and its rays.. At least one species of Solanum is known as the "sunberry". Alternatively, the name could originate from the Latin verb solari, meaning "to soothe", presumably referring to the soothing pharmacological properties of some of the psychoactive species of the family..The family has a worldwide distribution, being present on all continents except Antarctica. The greatest diversity in species is found in South America And Central America...

Spiders is the debut album by Space, released on 16 September 1996, peaking at #5 in the UK Albums Chart, later going platinum. "Money", "Kill Me", "Neighbourhood", "Female of the Species","Me and You Versus the World" and "Dark Clouds" (the first 2 combined together as a double A-side) were released as singles.. It sold an estimated 800,000 copies...

The spider originally bearing the name "tarantula" was Lycosa tarantula, a species of wolf spider native to Mediterranean Europe.. The name derived from that of the southern Italian town of Taranto..Tarantulas comprise a group of often hairy and very large arachnids belonging to the Theraphosidae family of spiders, of which approximately 900 species have been identified.. This article only describes members of Theraphosidae, although some other members of the same suborder are commonly referred to as "tarantulas".. Most species of tarantulas are not dangerous to humans, and some species have become popular in the exotic pet trade..Tarantulas sizes range from as small as a fingernail to as large as a dinner plate when the legs are fully extended..Most species of North American tarantulas are brown. Elsewhere species have been found that variously display cobalt blue (Haplopelma lividum), black with white stripes (Aphonopelma seemanni), yellow leg markings (Eupalaestrus campestratus), metallic blue legs with vibrant orange abdomen and greenbottle blue (Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens). Their natural habitats include savanna, grasslands such as the pampas, rainforests, deserts, scrubland, mountains, and cloud forests.. They are generally classed among the terrestrial types.. They are burrowers that live in the ground..When theraphosids were encountered in the Americas, they were named "tarantulas", causing usage of the term to shift to the tropical spiders. Nevertheless, these spiders belong to the suborder Mygalomorphae, and are not closely related to wolf spiders..The name "tarantula" isis also mistakenly applied to other large-bodied spiders, including the purseweb spiders or atypical tarantulas, the funnel-webs (Dipluridae and Hexathelidae), and the "dwarf tarantulas". These spiders are related to tarantulas (all being mygalomorphs), but are classified in different families. Huntsman spiders of the family Sparassidae have also been termed "tarantulas" because of their large size. In fact, they are not related, belonging to the suborder Araneomorphae..The 8 legs, the two chelicerae with their fangs, and the pedipalps are attached to the prosoma..A tarantula has 4 pairs of legs and two additional pairs of appendages. Each leg has se7en segments which, from the prosoma out, are: coxa, trochanter, femur, patella, tibia, tarsus and pretarsus, and claw..2 or 2 retractable claws are at the end of each arm.. These claws are used to grip surfaces for climbing..After feeding, the leftovers are formed into a small ball by the tarantula and thrown away.. In a terrarium, they often put them into the same corner...

Bury the Hatchet is the 4th studio album by Irish rock band The Cranberries, released in 1999. In the US, the album has sold 377,000 copies as of April 2007 and received its Gold® RIAA certification on 2 June 1999..The album is the first album released by the band after their first hiatus, which started 1996. Dolores had taken that time to heal from stress-induced diseases, and also had her first child, Taylor, during this period. This last fact reflected on some of the tracks in the album, mainly on "Animal Instinct" and "You and Me"..The themes of the songs vary, from maternity and children, to divorce and child abuse.. The album cover was designed by Storm Thorgerson..Luimneach originally referred to the general area along the banks of the Shannon Estuary known as Loch Luimnigh. The earliest settlement in the city, Inis Sibhtonn, was the original name for King's Island during the pre-Viking and Viking eras..This island was also called Inis an Ghaill Duibh, The Dark(haired) Foreigner's Island..The name is recorded in Viking sources as Hlymrekr..The city dates from 812 which is the earliest provable settlement ; however, history suggests the presence of earlier settlements in the area surrounding King's Island, the island at the historical city centre.. Antiquity's map-maker, Ptolemy, produced in 150 the earliest map of Ireland, showing a place called "Regia" at the same site as King's Island. History also records an important battle involving Cormac mac Airt in 221 and a visit by St. Patrick in 434 to baptise an Eóganachta king, Carthann the Fair. Saint Munchin, the first bishop of Limerick died in 652, indicating the city was a place of some note..Ran the Sinclair family through CDIC. Trudy and the doctor didn't have 2 sons.. They had 3...

The name cranberry derives from "craneberry", first named by early European settlers in America who felt the expanding flower, stem, calyx, and petals resembled the neck, head, and bill of a crane. Another name used in northeastern Canada is mossberry. The traditional English name for Vaccinium oxycoccos, fenberry, originated from plants found growing in fen (marsh) lands. In 17th-century New England cranberries were sometimes called "bearberries" as bears were often seen feeding on them..In North America, Native Americans were the first to use cranberries as food. Native Americans used cranberries in a variety of foods, especially for pemmican, wound medicine, and dye.. Calling the red berries Sassamanash, Algonquian peoples may have introduced cranberries to starving English settlers in Massachusetts who incorporated the berries into traditional Thanksgiving feasts.. American Revolutionary War veteran Henry Hall is credited as first to farm cranberries in the Cape Cod town of Dennis around 1816...Historically, cranberry beds were constructed in wetlands. Today's cranberry beds are constructed in upland areas with a shallow water table. The topsoil is scraped off to form dykes around the bed perimeter.. Clean sand is hauled into a depth of 4 to 8 inches..Cranberries for fresh market are stored in shallow bins or boxes with perforated or slatted bottoms, which deter decay by allowing air to circulate. Because harvest occurs in late autumn, cranberries for fresh market are frequently stored in thick walled barns without mechanical refrigeration. Temperatures are regulated by opening and closing vents in the barn as needed. Cranberries destined for processing are usually frozen in bulk containers shortly after arriving at a receiving station..By in vitro measurement of the oxygen radical absorbance capacity with an ORAC score of 9,584 units per 100 g, cranberry ranks near the top of 277 commonly consumed foods in the United States.. However, there is no scientific evidence that ORAC bears any biological significance in the human body..In 1550, James White Norwood made reference to Indians using cranberries. In James Rosier's book The Land of Virginia there is an account of Europeans coming ashore and being met with Indians bearing bark cups full of cranberries.. Yeah, it's probably the serial killers or something...

Responses to the boy racer phenomenon range from laws prohibiting cosmetic modifications to vehicles such as decorative lighting and window tint, restrictions on recreational driving ("cruising"), to vandalism such asspraying expanding foam into cars with loud "big-bore" exhaust tips to stop such cars driving around emitting loud droning noises.. "The Boy Racer" is a song by Morrissey, released as a single in 1995, the second single to be taken from the album Southpaw Grammar. It was Morrissey's second and final single release on the RCA record label he had signed to after leaving EMI. The single was released across two CDs, each with different covers but both featuring a young boy. Contrary to rumour, the child is not Morrissey's nephew..The single reached number 36 in the UK singles chart,10 places lower than his last single,Dagenham Dave"...Released 27 November 1995...

Lightbulb Tempest in a Teapot

Quote:
A Storm in Heaven is the debut studio album by English alternative rock band The Verve, at the time known just as Verve, released in June 1993 on the Hut Records label.. It charted at No. 27 in the UK.."A highly burnished synthesis of the warbling hard rock of the Doors, the infinite rhythmic groove of Can, the space-fried improvisations of Yeti-era Amon Düül II, and the effects-pedal anchor of My Bloody Valentine, A Storm in Heaven may well have been the best neo-psychedelic album released in the 1990s.. While often clumped together with the other English bands leading the shoegaze movement during the same time period, the Verve was creating a far different version of the thick atmospherics the genre became known for. Despite some minor cosmetic similarities, Loveless this was not.. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that guitarist Nick McCabe gazed shoe-ward with far better results than Kevin Shields ever did. While Loveless remained firmly anchored to the early-90s British scene, A Storm in Heaven flew figure 8's somewhere over its head."..Released 21 June 1993...

Cicero, in the first century BC, in his De Legibus, used a similar phrase in Latin, possibly the precursor to the modern expressions, "Excitabat enim fluctus in simpulo ut dicitur Gratidius", translated: "For Gratidius raised a tempest in a ladle, as the saying is".. Then in the early 3rd century AD, Athenaeus, in the Deipnosophistae, has Dorion ridiculing the description of a tempest in the Nautilus of Timotheus by saying that he had seen a more formidable storm in a boiling saucepan.. The phrase also appeared in its French form "une tempete dans une verre d'eau" (a tempest in a glass of water), to refer to the popular uprising in the Republic of Geneva near the end of the 17th century..20 June – A 7.5 earthquake hits Japan, killing 385 people-A high speed train makes the first journey from France to England via the Channel Tunnel...
