Seed Collecting

We have been gearing up this year to seriously collect a variety of our own seeds, between the growing group we have, kale, cauliflower, 3 types of peas, runner beans, broad beans, leeks, rhubarb, if we are successful we will have several years worth of produce from a single gathering.

This year has been a good growing season even though we have had a late start, nature always has an.ability to catch up.

This year I have planted the Carling pea, it has a wonderful bright reddish purple glower and a really great scent, its one of those sweet smells that you can still get hours afterwards, we will be saving them again for next year as well, makes a change from the white flowers one normally gets.
