it's about time a classical music thread came along, so thank you cheeney.

i haven't heard much but my absolute fav is vivaldi's four seasons (winter)- i can listen to it endlessly and never tire of it.

(never mind those scary masks- the violin is f*cking awesome)

for those of you who are classical music enthusiasts, check out http://www.musopen.com/- the largest directory of classical compositions (including sheet music) which you can download absolutely FREE truly a site that should be bookmarked.

Dunno if this one's been yet, but a version of it with horns, and when those horns kick in , I get a shiver down my back........please enjoy.

no, not any more. i gave up when i was 14... my mother was far far too pushy and it pushed me over the edge.

I can understand why she pushed me because i had a tallent for it, but at that age, i just wanted to look cool and hang out with the boys.... a violin can spoil your street cred some what

I played the piano too, classically trained. but i gave that up too at the same time.

Mildly obscure (but beautiful) film, but an awesome Piano duel!

Funny that Jo, same thing happened to me.

I was a wiz on the piano-accordian and my Grandad was teaching me
mouth-organ too (it's a musical instrument........for the information of any peados on here). Same shit as you Honey, pushed too far, and it wasn't cool with "the boys".

Gave it up at 14, what an idiot.
