Any hard hitter is always a danger in the ring, no matter their style or past fights, one hit can make the fight, but Connor never looked like he was dominating or like he was going to end it, Mayweather weathered the storm as well as he weathered the punches and showed Connor that he was out of his depth. It was a fix in that both fighters really milked the rofits for a big pay day, but beynd the fight hype and gate monies i doubt that it was fixed. |

it wasn't a fix IMO it was proof that a lifelong boxer of Mayweathers talent will beat pretty much anybody you put in the ring with him as long as it's a boxing match.
One thing they are constantly trying to say in MMA is you can't outbox a boxer and if you are going against a person with superior striking skills then trying to out strike them will result in a loss pretty much every time. Every credit to Mayweather for keeping his cool and out boxing McGregor. He could have made the mistake of getting too cocky and going out early , but he didn't he knew his skills would give him the win if he dragged it into the later rounds. *edit* and I don't think it was an early stoppage either , you are talking about a professional boxer who will cause permanent damage to your noggin if he hits you often enough ... the ref did his job well

Nah man that was scripted as hell.
If you went into this cash grab fight with the intention of all parties (UFC, Boxing, McGregor, Floyd) coming out safe then this fight couldn't have went any better. Floyd let him win those first 3 rounds, boxing so bizarrely in the process. They were both guilty of pulling their punches at times and even when it was Floyd's side of the bargain to turn up the ante, he was clever with the punches. He is skilful enough to put just enough in the punches to make it look legit but not overly damage McGregor, and that's exactly what it looked like. Of course these punches aren't going to tickle, but I'm sure McGregor is happy to put up with those for 100 million dollars and to keep his brand safe moving forward. Floyd got his KO, Conor landed more punches than Pacquiao and went 10 rounds with the best boxer of his generation. As I said, it couldn't have went better. It was good to see boxer writer Johnathon Brin-Butler expose this as the scripted fight it was on CNN. Does anyone really believe these guys never met in some large room prior to this fight being announced and went through all of this? There's no way that Dana White would have been so involved in this fight if it was legit. Why? Because Conor would be embarrassed inside a round or two and the UFC's image would take a major hit. I repeat again, this fight played out perfectly and to my eyes, and many others, it looked like a scripted exhibition.

i think the adage: put a street fighter in a ring with a world class boxer, the boxer is going to win. Put a world class boxer on the street with a street fighter, then it may be a different story.
Unless your name is Tyson, then someone's gonna get properly hurt ![]() And they're goin home without any ears. |

I've seen plenty of boxers, streetfighting lads whose best defence is to block punches with their faces. Although. Anyone could win. We should sit outside a some clubs in town one Saturday night. And bet on possible outcomes. ![]() McGregor is an interesting character. It's all show bidnit isn't it. Putting bums on seats. Making people tune in to see him get done in. Because they got so annoyed by him. It's all bullshit. And yet. It works every fuckin time. Connor and Floyd got paid. I think the MK ultra and freemasonary stuff is interesting. Seems they might have boundaries and limitations set externally. Which wouldn't surprise me at all. At all. Last edited by spock; 20-09-2017 at 10:51 AM. |

Mayweather always does Masonic handshakes. All the top, top athletes do it and of course the promoter's, directors, etc.
It's actually insane how deep it goes. I mean seriously...naturally I've seen first hand & took part in thousands of handshakes in my lifetime from job interviews, at the end of football matches, or just meeting a friend you haven't seen in a while, and NO ONE does that weird knuckle pressing limp handshake that these rich and famous people do. It's mad.
