Default 10 Ways Our Minds Warp Time

I found this interesting page on browsing the net about how we perceive time. One thing I've noticed is the older people get time flies past faster.

Back on topic, I have spoken to a lot of people about time going past quicker the older one gets. I remember when I was a kid it felt like 1000 years between christmas and next christmas. Now it feels like christmas comes quicker every year. LOL

great article, i can't agree with the time going faster as you age idea though, i've found the opposite to be true, there was never enough time to get things done in my youth, and in my thirties - no time left for sleep, now i can get every thing done without leaving anything till later, or tomorrow.
i find my self looking at the clock expecting two or three hours to have passed and finding it's only been thirty-five minutes

I was watching the Commonwealth games last night and I couldn't believe that it had been four years since the games in Delhi.
That four years seems to have flashed past my eyes at breakneck speed.

Normally I Adblock avatars that stretch out as long as that. But I think I'll let this one slide...

Wow!

I never realised adblock could be used for this!

This is the kind of all-powerful customisation that makes me want to do the evil genius laugh and exclaim “The World Is Mine! Muhwah hahahahahah!"

Heres a good tutorial on how to do this

How to Block and Unblock Specific Videos and Images Using AdBlock Plus

In regards to time, I have been noticing recently that when taking vitamins and supplements I can't believe a whole day has passed since I last took them.

Time goes much slower in the evenings if you don't watch TV. When the box is on it just flies by.

Animals can perceive time (and motion differently).

As humans age, we do indeed perceive time to be passing faster.. but it isn't of course.

When you are 10, a year seems like an eternity, a year is 1/10 of your life. When you are 40, a year is 1/40th of your life and a year is no longer an eternity.. the more time you experience, the quicker time seems to pass, but this is because you have experienced more time.

Time is an illusion. I would like for someone to explain to me how it can " go faster "

In my experience, the more my attention is on my negative thought processes or in the mind in general, the quicker it appears to go. I believe that as children we didn't get as hung up on thoughts and appreciated each moment as it should be, naturally. Which is a much slower pace...

not exactly, its more a case of not being able to fathom what exactly time is.

It's a system of numbers created by humans.

good point, i have a feeling that it's not true...but i can't prove, or even theorise otherwise, however, like left, right, backward, forward, up and down... it is a line of measurement....therefore a dimension in it's own right but so are latitude and longitude and they are fuck all but arbitrary navigational lines on a map

Take away the lines and numbers and what remains?
