During his 11-month, $300,000 bank-robbing spree across the American Midwest in the 1930s, John Dillinger used an Essex Terraplane as his getaway car.

A shootout with police in St. Paul, Minnesota, eventually left a bullet in Dillinger's left leg and two in a front panel of the car. But he managed to elude J Edgar Hoover's FBI agents for several more months until they finally shot him in a Chicago alley.

With all the snow mentioned in the posts lately I'd imagine there is something in this article...

MET OFFICE ISSUES SEVERE WEATHER ALERT AS HEAVY SNOW SPREADS

The Met could also mean
Quote:
A number of informal names and abbreviations exists for the Metropolitan Police Service, such as "the Met", "Met Pol", "MP" and "the MPS". In colloquial London (or Cockney) slang, it is referred to as the "Old Bill".[1] In statutes it is referred to in the lower case as the "metropolitan police force" or the "metropolitan police", without the appendage "service". The MPS is also referred to by the metonym Scotland Yard after the location of its original headquarters in and around Great Scotland Yard, Whitehall.
Also in the article you see the following...

Quote:
The Met Office said four inches covered Eskdalemuir, Dumfries and Galloway in the morning with up to six inches elsewhere in the region.
and on that page you see the following...

Quote:
Eskdalemuir is best-known for the nearby Eskdalemuir weather station and for the Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist monastery.
, and on that page you see the following...

In the early evening of 21 December 1988, the observatory's seismometers recorded the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103, which exploded over the nearby town of Lockerbie in an event registering 1.6 on the Richter scale.

The expression Richter magnitude scale refers to a number of ways to assign a single number to quantify the energy contained in an Earthquake.
It's just been mentioned in this thread that they had Earthquakes in Cornwall, so whether that means anything, I don't know.

There is quite a bit in the article and I also noticed this...

Quote:
Yesterday snow and ice brought chaos to Britain’s roads despite 130 gritters working overnight to spread around 3,000 tons of salt.

Jack-knifed lorries brought traffic to a standstill on the M74 in South Lanarkshire and the A74 in Dumfries and Galloway.
There is no Country Code for 74, but if you reverse it you get the Country Code for and

Temperatures have fallen to minus 2C in parts of the UK over the past few days with the mercury expected to plunge to minus 4C, even minus 5C, by Friday and Saturday.
Mercury to me sounds like the aslo know as the Bell.

According to Cook, this device ostensibly contained two counter-rotating cylinders which would be "filled with a mercury-like substance, violet in color. This metallic liquid was code-named "Xerum 525" and was otherwise cautiously "stored in a tall thin thermos flask a meter high encased in lead".
You also see the name Lead in the Article...

You also see the name Holland...

Forecaster Sarah Holland said: “These are the coldest days of winter so far. Drivers should take care and make sure they keep up to date with travel information.”
I also knew a Sarah who worked at UKAEA at Harwell.

I'll look into the article a bit more.

I noticed this article in the News...

The Mariana Trench or Marianas Trench[1] is the deepest part of the world's oceans. It is located in the western Pacific Ocean, to the east of the Mariana Islands. The trench is about 2,550 kilometres (1,580 mi) long but has a mean width of only 69 kilometres (43 mi). It reaches a maximum-known depth of about 10.91 kilometres (6.78 mi) at the Challenger Deep, a small slot-shaped valley in its floor, at its southern end,[2] although some unrepeated measurements place the deepest portion at 11.03 kilometres (6.85 mi).[3] If Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth at 8,850 metres (29,040 ft), was set in the deepest part of the Mariana Trench, there would be 2,060 metres (6,760 ft) of water left above it.
I only highlighted those numbers because the year here is 2554 and next year will be 2555, you also have the 3 x 5 = 555 Which to me means the 121 and Cement.

I once new a Guy by the name of Geordie when I worked for my first Electrical Company by the name of Triconic Electrical there was also another Guy by the name of Septimus Hodder and he had a son by the name of Dallas.

The name Hodder reminds me of a Hod carrier and Brick laying which also means you need Cement.

You notice the name Triconic has the word Icon in it and I purchased my Acer computer here in Thailand from a place called Icon Square, there is also a .

Whether all these links mean anything, I don't know, I'm just guessing.

Tavistock Square was the scene of one of the four suicide bombings on 7 July, 2005. The bomb was detonated by 18-year-old terrorist Hasib Hussain on a double-decker bus bearing number 30 opposite the BMA building. The explosion killed 13 commuters, plus Hussain himself.

On the occasion of the first anniversary in 2006, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport announced that the square would be the site of the permanent national memorial. A memorial garden is to be laid out in part of the existing garden and the BMA has commissioned a commemorative sundial.
One last thing Captain and Haddock also reminds me of and

I notice this article in the News...

Alec Baldwin thrown off plane for playing on his iPad

Baldwin and Goodyear also remind me of Coronation Street and as you can see on the Goodyear Wiki page
Quote:
Julie Goodyear, MBE (born 29 March 1942) is an English television actress and media personality, best known for playing the long-running role of pub landlady Bet Lynch (later Bet Gilroy) on British soap opera Coronation Street.
From the article...

Quote:
The American Airlines plane was forced to turn back to the departure gate so the 53-year-old actor could be removed from the aircraft, delaying the early morning flight from LAX airport to New York.

The iPad was introduced on January 27, 2010 by Apple's then-CEO Steve Jobs.
Any link to Apple Pies?

Quote:
The iPad 2 was released internationally in 25 other countries on March 25, 2011, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico and the United Kingdom, but not Japan as originally scheduled due to the earthquake and tsunami.[54]

The iPad's touchscreen display is a 1024 × 768 pixel, 7.75×5.82 in (197×148 mm) liquid crystal display (diagonal 9.7 in (246.4 mm)), with fingerprint- and scratch-resistant glass.
Quote:
The 30 Rock star, who could be fined over the incident, had been playing a computer game on his iPad, Words With Friends, which Baldwin’s spokesman Matthew Hiltzik said the actor was so in love with that “he would risk being thrown off a flight to play”.

I also don't know if it's just coincidence but when I put Goodyear Changmai into Google it came up with this News page for the Chaing Mai Mail

On the you see the following...

Quote:
He has since played both leading and supporting roles in films such as Beetlejuice (1988), The Hunt for Red October (1990), The Marrying Man (1991), The Shadow (1994), Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000), Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001), The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006). His performance in the 2003 film The Cooler garnered him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

So, I imagine a link to the Bluebell Railway I posted above.

Is there also any link to
On that page you see the following...

4-6-2 and on that page you see the following...

Quote:
The first 'true Pacific' with a large firebox was ordered by the New Zealand Railways Department (NZR) from the Baldwin Locomotive Works of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1901. The NZR Chief Mechanical Engineer, A. L. Beattie, ordered 13 Q class locomotives with a suffiently large firebox that would be able to burn poor lignite coal from eastern South Island mines efficiently.
Quote:
However, the story of the 4-6-2 type did not end in the 1960s. Large numbers have been preserved in working order. One further main-line example of the LNER Peppercorn design designated class A1, 60163 Tornado, was completed at Darlington by the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust in 2008.

Quote:
The Baldwin Locomotive Works had a humble beginning. Matthias W. Baldwin, the founder, was a jeweller and silversmith, who, in 1825, formed a partnership with a machinist, and engaged in the manufacture of bookbinders' tools and cylinders for calico printing.
Just to add to this I'm wondering if there might be a link to

Didier Drogba's double keeps Chelsea's Champions League dream alive

Hero of the huor: Didier Drogba scored his first goal of the night after just three minutes at Stamford Bridge

Two back-to-back 3-0 wins do not a season make, and Villas-Boas must plot the right ambush of Manchester City, but Chelsea have silenced the sirens. Winning at Newcastle United settled some domestic nerves. Tuesday night in Europe was even better, even more significant.
I'll look into it.

In the article you see the following...

On the Camila page you see the following...

So, there must be links there.

Italy Mafia boss Zagaria found in bunker - police

Italian police say they have discovered the notorious head of a Naples Mafia clan, Michele Zagaria, who has been on the run for 16 years.

Police said they had found him after digging through a secret bunker in his home town of Casapesenna near Naples.

Described as head of the powerful Casalesi clan, he was sentenced to multiple life sentences in absentia.

The Casalesi clan has been involved in drug trafficking and corruption in the construction industry.
I notice on the Wiki page the following...

Quote:
He was sentenced to life on June 19, 2008, after 10-year trial – named the Spartacus Trial – against 36 members of the Casalesi clan charged with a string of murders and other crimes.[4][5]
When you put Secret Bunker into Google the first Wiki page that comes up is
On that page I notice the following...

For most of its history, the hotel was owned by the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway and its successors, including the CSX Corporation.
I'm not sure if that means anything.

There might be more in the article, I just looked at this part...

"On a serene Sunday morning 70 years ago, the skies above Pearl Harbor were darkened by the bombs of Japanese forces in a surprise attack that tested the resilience of our armed forces and the will of our nation," he said Tuesday.

Mark Zuckerberg's new challenge:

Eating only what he kills

Zuckerberg's new goal came to light, not surprisingly, on Facebook.
On May 4, Zuckerberg posted a note to the 847 friends on his private page: "I just killed a pig and a goat."
