So thats it. And I agree.

As I go though 'threads' .... there are only a very limited number of poster's!

I mean VERY limited.

If you post on ANY forum.......and have a point of view which is YOURS....

You Are Very Special.... And There Are Not Very Many Of Your Kind!

I am still collating all the data I have and will post it....unless

creating groups on fakebook is the reason for every forums demise.
every car club forum i've been involved in has moved to a fakebook group leaving the forum dead.
add to that photobucket not allowing to host pics now all forums are not just dead but full of blank pictures.

I'm sure you're mum thinks you're wonderful! ,, and I bet you get luvly birthday cards and prezzies ,,

Re the death of forums ,,

I don't know why! I do agree with with George smileys reply ,, some people probably don't want the hassle of conflict and trollish behaviour/replies ,, like they get on faceboot ,, Instagrim,, and Snot chat etc,,,,,

I still check in every other day or so, when I can but all I would ever see in active threads were the same old topics being rehashed, nothing new under the sun as gary bell would say. I also found many topics being discussed lacked the depth or insight such subjects used to have. Too many gatekeepers sucking the energy out of posters finally left me feeling like it would be better to take a back seat and watch but not engage.

Good points ,, there are plenty of energy vampires around.

Yes, they haven't learned the art of turning negativity into benefit.
When you get trolled, rejoice! You have their full attention = free energy.

Maybe you could have added depth and insight?

More the merrier and all that.

Maybe. Though it also got to the point where I thought preaching to the crowd was ineffective and my time wold be better spent talking offline where I can really let loose. Being told your nuts is so much more rewarding when face to face

It got destroyed from within a long time ago. I don't know why shawnex was associated with anything having to do with David Icke, let alone running the site.

That's a lot of Cc's! Clearly popular!

Maybe it was a user or computer malfunction and multiple Cc usernames were generated ,, ,,

If you take this forum.... which states it has over 135 thousand members but struggles to gain 75-100 posts a day....and at times much less than that....why would that become?

I wasn't part of this forum when the ban hammer went down, but what happened is in the past so this forum should be very active with so very many members.... so why now is this forum in it's death throws?

It happens to many forums ( not just of an alternative nature ) ....but why?

I asked a member who had started a thread, who had not posted for nearly two years, why they had not interacted?
They showed as online but didn't answer?
So I removed my 'question' as it was 'off' topic within their thread.

Is this the 'now' nature of interaction.......especially alternative considerations, but then why?

This forum has near 6 million posts and 300 thousand threads....A wealth of potential information and discussion....But it is near death!

Why do you consider that to be....and how could we turn it around? And would you want to??

Look through history, mighty empires ruled then withered. Yoyo's were the thing and died. Drive in movies were a favourite pass time.
Sometimes large masses are drawn to something new and give it massive attention then slowly other things come along to draw their interest.
Sometimes it's because of the behaviour of others that drive people away.
Clubs of all sorts struggle for membership, as peoples interest change or they become time poor due to other commitments.
A forum can be a living breathing thing, that becomes suffocated when people argue or deliberately sabotage discussions.
Multiple new avenues of sharing information have opened. Some much easier to access e.g. Farcebook, Twatter etc.
But censureship is starting to kerb these site under the banner of hate speech. So perhaps there will be a resurgence in the old tech forum in the near future.
In the mean time, this forum will continue to provide people who wish to express an opinion to do so. As long as it doesn't provoke hatred or violence.

Social media killed forums circa 2011.
Real shame.

One word: Reddit. Reddit managed to vampirize most forums into a big single centralized forum.

In a world where power is centralized more and more, Reddit is the centralization of all forums (with a centralized and very biased moderation, just sayin).
