"Practice random kindness and selfless acts of beauty" is one of my fave quotes, whoever said it first. Never managed a selfless act of beauty that I'm aware of, but I try to do my bit on the first part.

To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic. It is based on the fact that human history is a history not only of cruelty, but also of compassion, sacrifice, courage, kindness.
