Default Prince Charles - We Should All Follow Islam

Prince Charles yesterday urged the world to follow Islamic 'spiritual principles' in order to save the environment.

In a high-profile speech, the heir to the throne argued that man's destruction of the world was contrary to the scriptures of all religions - but particularly that of the Islamic faith.

He said the current 'division' between Man and Nature had been caused not just by industrialisation, technological development and the relentless pursuit of economic growth, but also by our attitude to our relationship with Nature - which goes against the grain of 'sacred traditions'.

The Islamic Faith asks people to look after their environment.

What's wrong with that ?

Alternatively it might be the small matter of the speech being given to an Islamic studies group which might explain his topic choice a little better that your title did!

http://www.ummid.com/news/2010/June/...nvironment.htm

The first line of this link reads "The Prince of Wales is to give a lecture on Islam and the environment."

That makes the rest of this thread read a little differently now dont you think?

Fair enough, but maybe he shouldn't have singled out Islam...

Looking after the environments just common sense, religion irrelevant. Charlie just licking someone's ass, as per usual......in my opinion

that makes sense,as to why there errecting a moaque at ground zero in newyork, where the towers fell...

2 thing in the koran,that i like

when allah/mohamed,sends his prophet jesus christ back to earth...
he is ordered to do 2 things

1st...abolish all taxes.
2nd. kill all swine.

makes sense to me.....

also ,has the koran not been handed down to generations for the past 1400 years, untouched, not re-written.....absolutely original....

if so,thata odd, that it has been not tampered with like the bible was.

Half of them look asleep to me! However that doesn't take away the fact that your post title and OP insinuates that Charles is encouraging people to convert to Islam which is obviously not true.

Well he is still meant to be the defender of the faith for the Christian religion , so even if he says follow , convert , join , hes still a jackass isn't he ?

Do you think anyone from any other faith who is supposed to represent it at the highest level would come out and say this ?

Christianity was a massive threat to the roman way of controlling and maintaining their power structure, through fear.
so they hi-jacked Christianity and made their pope the top man to god, and the whole christian empire which ensued maintained the status-qua, power in Rome and manipulating the masses through fear. job done.

joshua/jesus message has been totally eradicated in christianity btw..maybe thats why the vatican has a secret vault of books from history..maybe there is where the true message of joshua/jesus rests..

if you research the history of the koran, you will see there were initial 'issues' with the dictation and copies..remember, mohammed was illiterate..how could he have known what was written was what he spoken?
but thats another debate which I dont wish to enter right now.

He isn't the defender of the christian faith. His mum is the defender of the Churchof England. A religion born out of a horny monarch of 500 years ago!

yes i understand, but perhaps when someone wrote the words that he said for the koran, there were others watching over and would have definately spoke up if the words written ,were those not being spoken about from mohammed.?????

i agree though i am not going to dwell on what might be or not, because none of us really know at all......just hear say, maybe?

Also I read when he/if he becomes king..he wants to change the wording to "defender of the faiths".

Do you read anything? Despite the Mail's twist, he says nothing about becoming Muslim and there's no mention of climate change.

The environment is being fucked over by humankind in many ways not related to climate change. Take the oil eruption and slaughter of orangutans for example. These issues are far more concerning than any 'climate change'. It's just that you, like most others, now associate care for the environment with climate change.
