Yes I`ve had this happen in the past quite a few times frozen with fear in the middle of the night knowing something is there...

I think its that during sleep, dependant on your energy levels you get visited by entities.

sleep paralysis, is some sort of condition that means people experience the period inbetween falling asleep and waking up more vividly. which means they experience these entities, so some form of manipulation is made to effect them

imo they also want to effect the feel you have when you are 'falling asleep' they don't want it to be pleasant.

so much effort is made from unseen forces to trick, misguide us and use us. until they are purged we wont know whats, what!

Out of body feelings too which I remember well.
Alice in wonderland syndrome in dreams nightmares the feeling of getting crushed walking on sponges getting nowhere fast and rushing sounds in my head as you go to bed after a while.
The dimensions are merging.

when I was 5, I looked out the window and saw 3 people. except I knew they were ghosts. they were all wearing clothing from different time periods. ran screaming to my parents room, I don't remember much afterwards and never saw anything like that again.

they tell us we get so scared we shut it off.. but how do we know that something isn't done to us to stop that?

I have been thinking about this. Are demons really that malevolent? If they existed would their unpleasantness be because they were entirely different from us, their feelings and emotions are incompatible... Alien?
Another thought, if they don't exist in the physical world are they projections of something asleep or dormant?

I have sleep paralysis, have had since I was a child although it goes for a bit then comes back. With me it is neurological (epilepsy as a child which went and came back recently but only complex partial seizures). I also have hallucinations at night, like end up jumping out of bed, putting the light on and dragging all the sheets off the bed because I'm convinced there is a huge spider or something on the bed.

Regarding demons, I think they have been around for a very long time though and they are not a christain concept. I think I may have had experience of one when I was 16. I thought at the time it was a nasty spirit but, as I have since researched and actually been involved in paranormal investigations etc for years... how that acted and how it affected me was very very different from even the most negative spirits I have come across. Whatever that thing is, it feeds on negative energy and and affects what is happening around them with living people causing more negativity, which then feeds it more.

Maybe they are all malevolent, but maybe some are not. I'm not sure because I don't think there is that much about them, unless its to do with religion or even satanism (wouldn't go down that route) but they are not something that I would go out of my way to encounter.

I have just posted a thread about my recent dreams and the feeling of knowing you are dreaming and unable to wake up or it being a struggle!! also woke in my room half asleep the other night and saw a huge black shadow
