the meaning is so loose and not really exclusive, like space on a shelf or on a page or line between words..
the word space doesnt do it justice, that is probably why our ancestors called it the heavens, much more apt IMHO.

Yeh but the space between the books on the shelf and the space between lines in a sentance are all made up of the same stuff as the rest of the space, so IMO makes sense to call it space.

There Chaos is over and there order has prevailed there system has worked well for them and they believe this should be the natural order of the universe. They believe what they are doing is the correct order for the universe. Who is to say what action is right or wrong, who are we to judge. We can understand there way of being by earths expressions of the Borg and Daleks.

In actuality there's a civil war between factions of the populations of Sirius B. Those of Sirius A have nothing to do with it. Before the war, one of the factions sent colonies on an artificial planet in another white dwarf star (like Sirius B), called by us Van Maneen's Star. They are their descendants, and alike the faction they are descended from, both are generally strict, but very positive and friendly beings. The hostiles you mention would be offended if you as much as look at them the funny way. These guys on the other hand treat you as their equal.

What is the Van Maneen's Star and how would Sirians colonize a planet near the star knowing that they wouldn't be threatened there???? A civil war would make that difficult
