Most of these I'd happily put down as birds in mid-flight. Others would be fingers prints, photo burn, reflections IMO. Except for this one...

So much for the theory that UFO's are a purely post-1940's phenomenon! The truth is: People have been reporting them from as far back as they could without being locked in an asylum and lobotomized or burned at the stake for witchcraft.
Plus UFO paintings where around in the 1500's and skeptics say "it is drawings of hats!" but a Dutch drawing explicitly say's "silver disk in the sky" which skeptics convienently ignore.

It has always been possible. Photographs are not precisely what you would actually see with the naked eye, even if they are not retouched. There is no such thing as a pure photograph in that sense.

If we cast our minds back to those B+W photos from yester-year that (to me) were clearly a bad atempt to show ectoplasam coming out of some gal's hooter or anothers mouth, or the blaintent double exposure jobs too.

Then we can conclude that old fakes can exists.

However....dont shoot me yet!

When we ask why a fake of a 'spook' can happen, we might conclude that it is to feed a desire. The victorians were into that kind of thing as a result of the introduction of the camera. And before that, the stage introduced, for its market, the puff of smoke or with the introduction of stronger lamps on the stage, the sheet of glass on stage (camera obscura??) that with a change of the light could produce a vision to appear.

But why fake things in the sky, way before the idea of 'skipping discs' across the sky were introduced to the human psyche?
Where did that one come from.

Remember that the very early cameras were for close-up and long exposures only. But as the film speed incresed so the desire to take pics of moving stuff came too.......ect, this aint a lecture (honest ) but suffice to say that all those boxes were owned by those that had cash to splash and a name to make for themselves. If a flying disc was caught on film then a couple of things could occur.

1) Hidden from the public eye due to a self placed riddiculing of the picture.
2) Hidden from the public eye due to a higher authority.
3) Placed in the public arena. In that case its on record.
4) Placed in the public arena and hidden from the public eye due to a riddiculing of the picture.
5) I dont know

My point is, why fake, in that time of history, something as spectacular as these things?

Tom. Hi by the way

Sure:

This was an amazing incident. In the photo you can see the AA search lights pick out the huge craft. They opened fire immediately, which is understandable as this was only a few weeks after the Pearl Harbour attack. You can see the AA tracer shooting up towards the object, but it doesn't seem to be bothered by them.
