I like the part where you go "This one's for the dude gettin' rude cause he don't know who I am Get away..." That $600 mic really captures the quality of your vocals on that part.

that was some other dude, sorry. i dont even know who did it cuz the website i got the beat from didn't stay. the beat i downloaded already had the chorus and the verses were blank. i filled in all the versus and released the song. it took me over 10 hours just to write the lyrics. god only knows how many hours i actually spent on this. so you liked the rest of the song, right?

For being kind of a generic track someone else made and then just adding your vocals it's alright I guess. I want to know what your musical vision is though. Even if you can't produce something as polished as the generic track it would end up being more authentic - a genuine expression of your own psyche, not just a cheap vehicle for your lyrical stylings.

none of these rappers produce their own music...........so why should it matter that i didn't make the track, they sure as hell don't. i do have a buddy who is a great producer however. i already paid him to help me create a track, and he already sent me the beat. i haven't started the project though. this is probabley gonna be my next song i put out though.

If it was dope that might be different. I don't really like modern commercial "Rap" so maybe it's just a difference in taste. Definitely more of an old school Hip Hop fan in addition to all the other kinds of music I love.

Before I ever picked up a guitar I made my first recordings with my friend on drums and myself on keyboards. We were like "Whoah! We used that much of the tape!!!" The thrill of recording overshadowed any deficiencies in sound and composition. We were naive but driven by unbridled enthusiasm for playing. I think that is kind of where you are at. It is a magical place to be and if you keep creating you could do something great. That is what I wanted to say before but didn't know if you wanted to hear that.

You are welcome Chris. I think your delivery needs work. Timing, tone, lyrics, everything. That being said, do the work! Do you know much a virtuoso musician practices? It is said to be 20,000 grueling hours.

To be brutally honest I would never listen to that Chris Parham shit. If I heard that on the radio I would change it in a nano-second lol!

To give you an idea of an independent artist I think is top notch: Seven Chakraz is a local group that was around not too long ago. Pretty sure they made all their own "beats" (music) and those angelic female choruses are their own. The lyrical style, music, album art, production - everything is dope, dope, dope. Check it:

The Seven Chakraz - Lust

http://youtu.be/gBU-Y8C7vLI

Quote:
"Lust" comes from The Seven Chakraz's 2XLP "Momento Mori" available on vinyl in our shop: http://www.hifidelics.com/shop/obsidi...

"The Seven Chakraz's album "Memento Mori" vividly engages with its unflinching attack on American culture through the use of its profoundly creative lyrics and sinister synths that poetically capture the spiritual essence of The Seven Deadly Sins. Addressing conceptually and morally high concepts The Seven Chakraz (7C), raps and flows on "Momento Mori" with terrific intensity and precision, deeply ingraining the album's reflective messages into your soul."

in 2012 i made a thread and this is what the guy had to say about all my music:

I liked them all, except the one that was disrespectful to woman. I worship woman and children, my motto is "to Love, respect and Protect All Woman and Children" Perhaps you could write a piece about Loving protecting and respecting all woman and children? I Liked your songs, but I feel the energy more than the lyerics, I feel the energy and I enjoyed it and I shared it with you. Thanks for your work I will share with others.
http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showt...projectillogic

everyone who has listend to my music says i get better and better after each song. and that was a long ass time ago......

idk on one post i made you replied "At least you sittin' at the top of the charts w/mad flow. That really says something that you can be at number one with any ol' discount beats."

on that thread you also posted"I like Commander Crunk the best so far."

commander crunk is way far down on the list of songs so you had to like my music enough to get to that point!

some other dude said"Nice one. Yes I did like it over all. I got a long relationship with soul and funk, reggae and disco, rap and hip hop...and ROCK! Being ruthless is your friend, so I've learned after thirty five years of getting involved in trying to make music"
