The Blackwater station first appeared on railway timetables in June, 1876. The Blackwater railway station operated until June 6, 1956. The trackbed of the former railway line is now part of National Cycle Route 23..National Cycle Route 23 (or NCR 23) is a route of the National Cycle Network, running from Reading to Sandown.. The partially signed route passes through Basingstoke, Eastleigh and Southampton; once across the Solent, it continues through Cowes and Newport.. The "Red Dress" genetic lines keep obsessively interbreeding to make sure their bloodlines are not weakened by the 2nd or 3rd levels of consciousness, because consciousness can rewrite the software..Public transport is provided by Southern Vectis bus routes 2 and 3, serving Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor.. Former Wightbus route 33 between Newport and Ryde, also serves part of the village..The station survives as an enlarged private house known as Brambles..Mārtiņi or Mārtiņdiena (Martin's Day) is the name of the festival in Latvia celebrated on November 10, marking the end of the fall and the beginning of winter. In ancient Latvia the festival marked the passage from Ūsiņš to Mārtiņš,2 horse deities. Ūsiņš is invoked during the summer, while Mārtiņš is a Winter God...

MARTINI is a coarse-grained force field developed by Marrink and coworkers at the University of Groningen, initially developed for molecular dynamics simulation of lipids, later extended to various other molecules. The force field applies a mapping of 4 heavy atoms to one CG interaction site and is parametrized with the aim of reproducing thermodynamic properties..Molecular dynamics (MD) is a computer simulation of physical movements of atoms and molecules in the context of N-body simulation. The atoms and molecules are allowed to interact for a period of time, giving a view of the motion of the atoms..Beginning in theoretical physics, the method of MD gained popularity in materials science and since the 1970s also in biochemistry and biophysics. MD is frequently used to refine 3-dimensional structures of proteins and other macromolecules based on experimental constraints from X-ray crystallography or NMR spectroscopy.. In physics, MD is used to examine the dynamics of atomic-level phenomena that cannot be observed directly, such as thin film growth and ion-subplantation.. It is also used to examine the physical properties of nanotechnological devices that have not or cannot yet be created..I took English and Biology in college and now I have no use for either of them...Martini-Enfield rifles were, by and large, conversions of the Zulu War era .450/577 Martini-Henry, rechambering the rifle for use with the newly introduced .303 British cartridge..The Martini-Enfield was in service from 1895-1918 (Lawrence of Arabia's Arab Irregulars were known to have used them during the Arab Revolt of 1916-1918, along with any other firearms they could acquire), and it remained a Reserve Arm in places like India and New Zealand until well into World War II..

Pinewood Studios is a British Movie studio and TV studio situated in Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire, approximately 20 miles (32 km) west of central London.. It is run by The Pinewood Studios Group was built on the estate of Heatherden Hall, which was a large Victorian house. It was purchased by Canadian financier and MP for Brentford and Chiswick Lt. Col. Grant Morden, who added refinements such as a ballroom, a Turkish bath and an indoor squash court.. Due to its seclusion, it was used as a discreet meeting place for high-ranking politicians and diplomats and the agreement to create the Anglo-Irish Treaty was signed there..During World War II Pinewood was requisitioned and subsequently the Crown Film Unit, No. 5 Army Film and Photographic Unit, Royal Air Force Film Production Unit and Polish Air Force Film Unit were based there..The Seventies were an uncertain period for Pinewood and the Movie industry in general, with the studios being used more for TV programmes, including Gerry’s UFO, Space: 1999, The Persuaders! starring Tony,Roger and Alien.. Throughout the lean years of the 1970s the Superman franchise almost certainly saved the studios from financial crisis..The Company of Youth was an acting school for young contract players for the Rank Organisation who were being groomed for stardom.. It was commonly known as the Rank Charm School..The Pinewood Studios Group was subject to a hostile takeover approach in 2011. Manchester-based The Peel Group acquired a 73% stake, but Warren James Jewellers retained a 27% stake so preventing a full takeover..The title character is a vicious villainess who commands a Thought Factory in the Scottish Highlands. Rank was born on 23 December 1888 at Kingston upon Hull in England into a Victorian family environment, which was dominated by his father Joseph Rank who had built a substantial flour milling business. He was educated at The Leys School in Cambridge. Joseph is reported to have told his son Arthur that he was "a dunce at school" and that the only way that he could succeed in life would be in his father's flour mill. J. Arthur ventured on his own with Peterkins Self-Raising Flour, but when that business failed he returned to work for his father. That was the business (Joseph Rank Limited) that he later inherited and which became known as Rank Hovis McDougall (now owned by British food conglomerate Premier Foods)..Rank was a devout member of the Methodist Church and in his middle age he taught Sunday School to which he began to show religious Movies... This practice expanded to other churches and schools and it led to his formation of the Religious Film Society to which he then distributed films that he had also made. His first production was called Mastership..The first commercial production by this company was Turn of the Tide, a movie based upon a recently published 1932 novel by Leo Walmsley called Three Fevers..During the 1940s, the companies Rank controlled produced some of the finest British films of the period, including: The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943), Henry V (1944), A Matter of Life and Death (1946), Black Narcissus (1947), and The Red Shoes (1948). From the 1950s fewer adventurous films were attempted and solidly commercial ventures, largely aimed at the family market, were made instead.. These includes the popular Norman Wisdom comedies, The various Doctor... films. However some films of note were produced during this era including: Carve Her Name With Pride (1958), and Victim, (1961) as well as a clutch of prestige topics such as the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953 and filmed performances by The Royal Ballet..Lord Rank married Nell, and they had 2 daughters, Shelagh and Ursula..Another Hebrew name that has been rendered as "Shela" is שילא, as exemplified by the early Third Century Babylonian Rabbi Rav Shela..Ursula is a feminine given name in several different languages. The name is derived from a diminutive of the Latin ursa, which means "bear"..Two submarines of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Ursula..The Finnish Intelligence Research Establishment (FIRE) (Finnish: Viestikoelaitos ("Signals Test Facility") is a signals intelligence (SIGINT) unit of the Finnish Defence Forces, founded in 1960.. It is part of the organization of the Finnish Air Force, and shares its HQ in Tikkakoski.. It is part of the Finnish Military Intelligence Service...

Alwaleed’s interest in News Corp., the media conglomerate of Rupert Murdoch and once-parent company to Fox News, started in 1997 with a $400 million investment, according to a description of the investment on Alwaleed’s Kingdom Holding Co.’s website. That was 3 percent of News Corp.’s worth. In 2005, he increased his holding to 5.5 percent, the site states..The picture is a little different now because News Corp. split into two companies in June 2013 amid fallout from the company’s phone-hacking controversy with its British newspapers..The move spawned a new News Corp., housing publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post and Vogue. A second company, 21st Century Fox, oversees movies and TV programming, including the Fox News Channel...

Jihad , an Islamic term, is a religious duty of Muslims. In Arabic, the word jihād translates as a noun meaning "struggle" or "resisting".. The word jihad appears in 23 Quranic verses.. Within the context of the classical Islam, particularly the Shiahs beliefs, it refers to struggle against those who do not believe in the Abrahamic God (Allah).. However, the word has even wider implications and interpretations...The word Jihad and its meaning is unique to Islam and never existed, in Arab antiquity, (eg. Nabataean or Kufic) before the advent of Islam (eg. Muhammad's words and actions) from 623 CE to 631 CE ...The term 'jihad' has accrued both violent and non-violent meanings. It can simply mean striving to live a moral and virtuous life, spreading and defending Islam as well as fighting injustice and oppression, among other things.. The relative importance of these two forms of jihad is a matter of controversy. A poll by Gallup showed that a "significant majority" of Muslim Indonesians define the term to mean "sacrificing one's life for the sake of Islam/God/a just cause" or "fighting against the opponents of Islam". In Lebanon, Kuwait, Jordan, and Morocco, the majority used the term to mean "duty toward G", a "divine duty", or a "worship of G", with no militaristic connotations...

The Daily Mirror is a British national daily tabloid newspaper founded in 1903.. From 1985 to 1987, and from 1997 to 2002, the title on its masthead was simply The Mirror. It had an average daily print circulation of 962,670 in March 2014.. Its Sunday sister paper is the Sunday Mirror..The Daily Mirror was launched on 2 November 1903 by Alfred Harmsworth (later Lord Northcliffe) as a newspaper for women, run by women. Hence the name: he said, "I intend it to be really a mirror of feminine life as well on its grave as on its lighter sides ... to be entertaining without being frivolous, and serious without being dull".. It cost one penny..Lord Rothermere was a friend of Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler, and directed the Mirror’s editorial stance towards them in the early 1930s.. By the mid-1930s, the Mirror was struggling – it and the Mail were the main casualties of the early 1930s circulation war that saw the Daily Herald and the Daily Express establish circulations of more than two million, and Rothermere decided to sell his shares in it..After taking over as cartoon chief at the Mirror in 1945, he dropped Beelzebub Jones and moved on to a variety of new strips..During the Second World War the Mirror positioned itself as the paper of the ordinary soldier and civilian, and was critical of the political leadership and the established parties.. At one stage, the paper was threatened with closure following the publication of a Philip Zec cartoon (captioned by William Connor), which was misinterpreted by Winston Churchill and Herbert Morrison..The Mirror's mass working class readership had made it the United Kingdom's best-selling daily tabloid newspaper.. In 1960, it acquired the Daily Herald (the popular daily of the labour movement) when it bought Odhams, in one of a series of takeovers which created the International Publishing Corporation (IPC). The Mirror management did not want the Herald competing with the Mirror for readers, and in 1964, relaunched it as a mid-market paper, now named The Sun. When it failed to win readers, the Sun was sold to Rupert Murdoch – who immediately relaunched it as a more populist and sensationalist tabloid and a direct competitor to the Mirror etc etc etc ..The Wharf, sister newspaper for the Isle of Dogs...

Words are phowerful.. They can move us to acts of great love or great cruelty.. The sublime utterance of a spiritual Master or the impassioned rantings of a Hitler are examples of extremes but all of us have the power to use words to inspire others to action. We can all affect and influence the world around us through our speech. Indeed, whether we wish to or not we all do influence others by what we say..Our influence will tend to be either harmonising or divisive..Gossip, slander, rumour-mongering, complaining, flattery, harshness and untruthfulness are all divisive and destructive. They are destructive of trust and good will and, therefore, destructive of any sense of community.. So these ugly verbal excesses should have no place in a spiritual community.. The power of words, almost magical in its potency, can be put at the service of our highest Ideals and used to create the positive conditions we need in order to progress spiritually...

Cool Don't Lucknow

Quote:
Varanasi is an Indian city on the banks of the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh, 320 kilometres (200 mi) south-east of the state capital, Lucknow. It is the holiest of the se7en sacred cities (Sapta Puri) in Hinduism, Ravidassia religion and Jainism, and played an important role in the development of Buddhism. Some Hindus believe that death at Varanasi brings salvation.. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Varanasi is also known as the favourite city of the Hindu deity Lord Shiva as it has been mentioned in the Rigveda that this city in older times was known as Kashi or "Shiv ki Nagri"..According to legend, Varanasi was founded by the God Shiva.. The Pandavas, the heroes of the Hindu epic Mahabharata are also stated to have visited the city in search of Shiva to atone for their sins of fratricide and Brāhmanahatya that they had committed during the climactic Kurukshetra war.. It is regarded as one of seven holy cities which can provide Moksha..Varanasi grew as an important industrial centre, famous for its muslin and silk fabrics, perfumes, ivory works, and sculpture.. During the time of Gautama Buddha (born circa 567 BC), Varanasi was the capital of the Kingdom of Kashi.. Buddha is believed to have founded Buddhism here around 528 BC when he gave his first sermon, "Turning the Wheel of Law", at nearby Sarnath..Verily, a polluted stream is man.. One must be a sea to be able to receive a polluted stream without becoming unclean...

Several major figures of the Bhakti movement were born in Varanasi, including Kabir who was born here in 1389 and hailed as "the most outstanding of the saint-poets of Bhakti cult (devotion) and mysticism of 15th-Century India"; and Ravidas, a 15th-century socio-religious reformer, mystic, poet, traveller, and spiritual figure, who was born and lived in the city and employed in the tannery industry..In 1897, Mark Twain, the renowned Indophile, said of Varanasi, "Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend, and looks twice as old as all of them put together.A massacre by British troops, of the Indian troops stationed here and of the population of the city, took place during the early stages of the Indian Rebellion of 1857.. Annie Besant worked in Varanasi to promote theosophy and founded the Central Hindu College which later became a foundation for the creation of Banaras Hindu University as a secular university in 1916.. Her purpose in founding the Central Hindu College in Varanasi was that she "wanted to bring men of all religions together under the ideal of brotherhood in order to promote Indian cultural values and to remove ill-will among different sections of the Indian population"..The urban portion of Varanasi District had an infant mortality rate of 70 per 1,000 live births in 2010–2011..Due to the high population density and increasing number of tourists, the state government and international NGOs and institutions have expressed grave concern for the pollution and pressures on infrastructure in the city, mainly the sewage, sanitation and drainage components..Tourism is Varanasi's second most important industry.. Over 3 million domestic and 200,000 foreign tourists visit annually (in 2005 and 2010, respectively), most commonly for religious reasons...

Among the estimated 23,000) temples in Varanasi, the most worshiped are: the Kashi Vishwanath Temple of Shiva; the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple; and the Durga Temple known for the band of monkeys that reside in the large trees nearby..Varanasi has an own culture of fine art and literature. Renowned Indian writers have lived in the city..Interwoven within one million Hindus are two hundred and fifty thousand Muslims who have made Varanasi their home since the time of Islamic empires. In 2001, Muslims made up approximately 16% of the population of Varanasi District..Sarnath, a suburb of Varanasi, is a place of Buddhist pilgrimage. It is the site of the deer park where Siddhartha Gautama of Nepal is said to have given his first sermon about the basic principles of Buddhism.. The Dhamek Stupa is one of the few pre-Ashokan stupas still in existence, though only its foundation remains.. Also remaining is the Chaukhandi Stupa commemorating the spot where Buddha met his first disciples in the 5th century.. An octagonal tower was built later there..Dhrupad Mela is a 5-day musical festival devoted to dhrupad style held at Tulsi Ghat in February–March..Starting in 1923, the temple organizes a 5-day classical music and dance concert festival titled Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh in this period, when iconic artists from all parts of India are invited to perform..Bharat Milap celebrates the meeting of Rama and his younger brother Bharata after the return of the former after 14 years of exile..Music in Varanasi is linked to the Pauranic legends. Lord Shiva who is reported to have established this city was credited with evolving music and dance forms. In the historical medieval times, when Vaishnava Bhakthi movement was a rage in the country, literature of the times attest to the fact that Kashi was then a famous centre of music..Auto rickshaws and cycle rickshaws are the most widely available forms of public transport in old city..In the Rigveda, the city is referred to as Kāśī or Kashi, the luminous city as an eminent seat of learning..The name Kāśī is also mentioned in the Skanda Purana. In one verse, Shiva says, "The three worlds form one city of mine, and Kāśī is my royal palace
therein".. The name Kashi may be translated as "City of Light"...

The Siege of Lucknow was the prolonged defence of the ResidencyI within the city of Lucknow during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. After two successive relief attempts had reached the city, the defenders and civilians were evacuated from the Residency, which was then abandoned..Lucknow was the capital of the former state of Awadh. The prolonged defence there by the British proved to be one of the key episodes in this uprising. Mainly there were issues of prestige and morale involved, but Lucknow also became the point at which the main forces of both the British and rebels were concentrated...The flashpoint of the rebellion was the introduction of the Enfield rifle; the cartridges for this weapon were believed to be greased with a mixture of beef and pork fat, which was felt would defile both Hindu and Muslim Indian soldiers. On 1 May, the 7th Oudh Irregular Infantry refused to bite the cartridge and on 3 May they were disarmed by other regiments..On 23 May, Lawrence began fortifying the Residency and laying in supplies for a siege; large numbers of British civilians made their way there from outlying districts. On 30 May (the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr), most of the Oudh and Bengal troops at Lucknow broke into open rebellion. In addition to his locally recruited pensioners, Lawrence also had the bulk of the British .32nd Regiment of Foot available, and they were able to drive the rebels away from the city..

Charing Cross 14.3 mi (23.0 km) 32-point compass rose.. Ickenham is a suburban area centred on an old village in Greater London, part of the London Borough of Hillingdon..While no major historical events have taken place in Ickenham, settlements dating back to the Roman occupation of Britain have been discovered during archaeological surveys, and the area appears in the Domesday Book. Buildings from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries remain standing and have been restored in recent years..According to the 1901 Census, Ickenham at that time had a population of 329, which by the 2001 Census had reached 9,933, although census figures show a marked population decline during the 1960s and 1970s - St Giles' Church dates back to 1335...

A military station, operated by the Royal Air Force and later the United States Navy, was opened on part of Home Farm close to the parish boundary with Ruislip in 1917, later becoming known as RAF West Ruislip. The site was used originally for the British No. 4 Maintenance Unit, together with the RAF Records division. It became involved in the repair of aircraft equipment and later in the servicing of American vehicles from RAF South Ruislip.. Between 1955 and 1975 the United States Air Force was based at the Ruislip station, before the U.S. Naval Activities, United Kingdom command leased the site from the Ministry of Defence for the American Naval Exchange..Breakspear Primary School was built in 1937, followed by Glebe Primary in 1952 on the other side of the railway line.. The Roman Catholic secondary school Douay Martyrs was built in 1962 and later expanded onto the former site of Swakeleys School nearby..During the Second World War Swakeleys House was requisitioned by the military and a searchlight battery established in the grounds..The close proximity to the Great Western and Metropolitan Railways made it ideal for the purpose..Additional construction costs meant the final total was £736,000, up from an original estimate of £235,000.. The need for heating brought with it the requirement for boiler houses, plus additional foundations which were needed for the buildings to the north of the railway..The Air Ministry placed an order in 1922 for the closure of the public footpath that ran through the site, providing £750 for the maintenance of nearby Green Lane where the path originated. The eventual order, dated 15 October 1924, replaced two previous orders from 1922 and 1923 which had required a replacement route, though no such route was established..A large area of the site was demolished in the late 1980s for a large residential development named "Brackenbury Village". Housing was shared between personnel and British families.. The Children's Welfare and Family Services Centre was built in 1988 by Kier Construction. The building incorporated separate sections for children and families..A garden commemorating the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II was opened in September 2012 in Swakeleys Park.. The garden, featuring a landscaped area and benches around a stone obelisk, was designed by the local council's Green Spaces Team.. The opening had been scheduled for 26 May 2012, although this was postponed after vandals destroyed the stone obelisk overnight shortly after it had been installed..The London Buses routes U1 And U10 serve Ickenham...

Cool Symphony No. 23

Quote:
The Symphony No. 23 in D major, K. 181/162b, of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was dated as complete on May 19, 1773.. It is sometimes called "Overture", even though the autograph score bears the title "Sinfonia".. The symphony has the scoring of 2 oboes, 2 horns, 2 trumpets, and strings..Sinfonia is the Italian word for symphony, from the Latin symphonia, in turn derived from Ancient Greek συμφωνία sumphōnia (agreement or concord of sound), from the prefix σύν (together) and ϕωνή (sound). In English it most commonly refers to a 17th- or 18th-century orchestral piece used as an introduction, interlude, or postlude to an opera, oratorio, cantata, or suite (Abate 1999, which gives the origin of the word as Italian..The word is also found in other Romance languages such as Spanish or Portuguese..

Phi Mu Alpha’s coat of arms was adopted at the 10th National Convention in 1910.. The escutcheon (shield) consists of a red saltire (or Saint Andrew’s Cross) on a field of gold. Centered is a symbol similar to the fraternity’s membership pin, though differing in that instead of 7 red and white circles/stones along each side of the triangle, there are 13 monochromatic circles along each side.. The saltire divides the escutcheon into 4 sections.. In the dexter section (bearer's right or viewer's left) are clasped hands, in the sinister section (bearer's left or viewer's right) are Panpipes, and in the base section (bottom) is a lamp. The chief section (top) contains no charge but the point of the centered triangular symbol Crosses into it...

Lightbulb Phillips Disaster

Quote:
The Phillips Disaster refers to a devastating series of explosions and fire on October 23, 1989 near the Houston Ship Channel in Pasadena, Texas, USA. The initial blast registered 3.5 on the Richter Scale, and the conflagration took 10 hours to bring under control.. 23 employees were killed and 314 injured..The facility produced approximately 15,000,000,000 pounds (6,800,000 t) per year of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a plastic material used to make milk bottles and other containers. The Houston Chemical Complex (HCC) facility had 905 company employees and approximately 600 daily contract employees, who were engaged primarily in regular maintenance activities and new plant construction..The initial response was provided by the Phillips 66 Company fire brigade which was soon joined by members of the Channel Industries Mutual Aid association (CIMA). Cooperating governmental agencies were the Texas Air Control Board, the Harris County Pollution Control Board, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the U.S. Coast Guard, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)...Today, the facility continues to manufacture high-density polyethylene (HDPE), as well as K-Resin SBC..This complex employs 750 workers for the production of specialty chemicals, including 150 operations and maintenance personnel..The facility experienced additional fatalities in 1999 and 2000. A massive propane leak occurred on 25-Jun-2008 in a utility easement just outside plant property..A granite memorial (at 29°43′59.4″N 95°10′57″W near 924 Jefferson Rd, Pasadena, TX 77506, USA) was dedicated on the first anniversary of the disaster, and was declared by company officials to remain open at all times to the general public...

Snelling of the U.S. Bureau of Mines in 1910.. The volatility of these lighter hydrocarbons caused them to be known as "wild" because of the high vapor pressures of unrefined gasoline. On March 31, the New York Times reported on Snelling's work with liquefied gas and that "...a steel bottle will carry enough gas to light an ordinary home for 3 weeks"..Propane is a 3-carbon alkane with the molecular formula C 3H 8, normally a gas, but compressible to a transportable liquid..Propane is a popular choice for barbecues and portable stoves because the low boiling point of −42 °C (−44 °F) makes it vaporize as soon as it is released from its pressurized container...

Ladybird, ladybird fly away home,
Your house is on fire and your children are gone,
All except one,
And her name is Ann,
And she hid under the baking pan..The Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge spans the Lady Bird Lake and is home to North America's largest urban colony of Mexican Free-tailed Bats, with a summer population of 1.5 million bats...

Quote:
Ladybirds are useful as eaters of aphids, which would otherwise damage plants.. They can also be a nuisance, but there would be logic from a farmer or gardener’s viewpoint in trying to shoo them away rather than kill them.. This could be the rational basis for teaching children to respect them..During the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, teachers at a secluded countryside elementary school are asked to walk their pupils home after a nuclear bomb warning alarm sounds. Unaware that the alarm was tripped by accident, the teacher and children walk through the countryside with a slowly building sense of doom about the upcoming nuclear holocaust.. When the children finally gain access to a bomb shelter, they do not allow a female fellow student join them, claiming there isn't enough room..The girl frantically searches for shelter and finds an abandoned old refrigerator to hide inside, suggesting that she is going to suffocate to death (although this is not shown).. After a boy from the shelter fails to find her, we hear a loud whining noise overhead. The boy cowers in the shadow of planes passing in the sky above.. The film abruptly smashes to black with the words "STOP! STOP! STOP!" written on screen..It isn't explicitly stated that a bomb was or wasn't dropped; but earlier scenes in the movie specify that the alarm was the result of an error, meaning that the children are victims of the panic and paranoia caused by the Cold War..The ladybird street tile (pictured) is a symbol against senseless violence in the Netherlands, and is often placed on the sites of deadly crimes..The mascot of Candanchú, a ski resort situated near the town of Canfranc in the High Aragon of the western Pyrenees..Release date..December 23, 1963...

Job's Daughters International is a Masonic-sponsored youth organization for girls and young women aged 10 to 20. The organization is commonly referred to as simply Job's Daughters, and sometimes abbreviated as JDI (or IOJD, referring to its longtime former name, International Order of Job's Daughters). Job's Daughters welcomes many religions and cultures..What does it mean to be a member of Job’s Daughters and how much time is dedicated to the society?

"Mother Mick" was fond of the Book of Job, and took the name of the organization as a reference to the 3 daughters of Job.. The Book of Job, 42nd chapter, 15th verse says, "In all the land were no women found so fair as the Daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren". She founded the Order with the assistance of her husband, Dr. William H. Mick, and several Freemasons and members of Eastern Star of Nebraska.. She dedicated the organization to the memory of her mother, Elizabeth D. Wead..

By June 1923 the Job's Daughters had been endorsed by the Grand Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star in Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington, DC. The order spread rapidly in the early 1920s. At the third annual meeting of the "Supreme Guardian Council" in Chicago on Oct. 12, 1923, delegates were present from 23 states, the Territory of Alaska and Manitoba..In 1931 the name was changed to the International Order of Job's Daughters after a Bethel was instituted in Vancouver, British Columbia..The ritual of the Order was drawn up by Le Roy T. Wilcox, a scholar of Masonic law, and the group came
"under the general management of the Masonic order"...

Quote:
‘Being a member of Job’s Daughters can mean different things to different girls.. The most common connection is that they are girls 10 to 20 years old that are related to a Master Mason, and they take an oath to keep the secrets of Jobs daughters and uphold the traditions with which the organization is based. Beyond that, it is a way for girls to connect to other girls with common interests but not be limited to a specific socioeconomic class, location, or religion.. When I look at it from an outsider’s perspective I see girls balancing tradition with youth oriented activities (such as dances, camp, and social building skills). There is an element of theater or performance to the ritual work that is just amazing and there is a certain type of girl who just thrives on that. In this organization you don’t need to be the best athlete, come from the most money, or be the most popular girl in school. It is a chance for a girl to grow in a safe environment and be close to a new set of peers and get to know girls from all over the world, which to me is pretty amazing for a 13 or 14 year old’...

Avianca Airlines Flight 203 was a Colombian domestic passenger flight from El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá to Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport in Cali. It was destroyed by a bomb over the municipality of Soacha on November 27, 1989..The aircraft took off from the Colombian capital Bogotá en route to Cali. It was in the air for five minutes and flying at a speed of 794 kilometres per hour (493 mph) when an explosive charge detonated on board, igniting fuel vapors in an empty fuel tank..The aircraft was a Boeing 727-21 with registration number HK-1803; it was purchased from Pan Am. The aircraft took off as scheduled at 7:11 a.m. After 5 minutes into the flight a bomb placed near the fuel tank exploded at 13,000 feet. The blast ripped the airliner apart: the nose section separated from the tail section, which went down in flames. All 107 people on board were killed, as well as 3 people on the ground who were killed by falling debris. According to the investigations the bomb was placed by a man wearing a suit who was able to bring the bomb inside the aircraft in a suitcase..The bombing of Flight 203 was the deadliest single criminal attack in the many decades of Colombian violence. Pablo Escobar of the Medellín drug cartel planned the bombing, hoping it would kill presidential candidate for the 1990 elections César Gaviria Trujillo.. Gaviria, however, was not on the aircraft, and would go on to become President of Colombia.. Two Americans were among the dead, and because of this, the Bush Administration would begin Intelligence Support Activity OPerations to find Escobar...

On May 23, 1988, Lineas Aéreas Costarricenses Flight 628, a 727-22 (registration TI-LRC) aboarded taking-off was abandoned after V1 because the aircraft. The aircraft overran runway 07, collided with a fence, crossed a ditch, struck a hill and caught fire at Juan Santamaria International Airport in San José, Costa Rica. There were no fatalities..

On February 11, 1992, a Tunisair 727-2H3 registration TS-JHV was damaged beyond economic repair, the engines were started for an engine-run at Tunis-Carthage Airport in Tunisia. When engine power reached 80%, the aircraft ran over its blocks and ran into a hangar. There were no fatalities

December 22, 1992 , a Libyan Arab Airlines Flight 1103, a 727-2L5 (registration 5A-DIA) was involved in a mid-air collision with a Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23 of Libyan Air Force over Tripoli, Libya. The crash resulted of the deaths of 147 passengers and 10 crew members on board the 727, there were two MiG pilots survived.

On May 19, 1993, SAM Colombia Flight 505, en route from Panama City, Panama, to Medellín, Colombia, hit Mt. Paramo de Frontino at 12,300 ft on approach to José María Córdova International Airport (SKRG). All 132 passengers and crew died.

On August 12, 1997, an Olympic Airways 727-230 registration SX-CBI, operated flight 171 and named Megas Alexandros was flown by two highly experienced captains. The weather was poor with a thunderstorm passing over Ellinikon International Airport in Greece. There were no fatalities.

On July 7, 1999, a Hinduja Cargo 727-243F (registration VT-LCI), crashed shortly after takeoff from Kathmandu, Nepal at night due to a rain.

The conclusion of the test was that, in a case like this, passengers at the front of an aircraft would be the ones most at risk in a crash; passengers seated closer to the airplane's wings would have suffered serious but survivable injuries such as broken ankles; and the test dummies near the tail section were largely intact, so any mannequins there would have likely walked away without serious injury..Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue..What was it we had for dinner tonight?..ProSieben plans to air the documentary special before the end of 2012 and the French channel France 5
broadcast on June 23, 2013...

The Book of Numbers (from Greek Ἀριθμοί, Arithmoi; Hebrew: במדבר‎, Bəmidbar, "In the desert [of]") is the 4th book of the Hebrew Bible, and the 4th of 5 books of the Jewish Torah..Numbers begins at Mount Sinai, where the Israelites have received their laws and covenant from G and G has taken up residence among them in the sanctuary.. The task before them is to take possession of the Promised Land. The people are numbered and preparations are made for resuming their march.. The Israelites begin the journey, but they "murmur" at the hardships along the way, and about the authority of Moses and Aaron. For these acts, G-d destroys approximately 15,000 of them through various means. They arrive at the borders of Canaan and send spies into the land, but upon hearing the negative emphasis of the spies' report concerning the conditions in Canaan the Israelites refuse to take possession of it, and G-d condemns them to death in the wilderness until a new G-eneration can grow up and carry out the task. The book ends with the new generation of Israelites in the Plain of Moab ready for the crossing of the Jordan River..

Numbers is the culmination of the story of Israel's exodus from oppression in Egypt and their journey to take possession of the land G-d promised their fathers. As such it draws to a conclusion the themes introduced in Genesis and played out in Exodus and Leviticus: G-d has promised the Israelites that they shall become a great (i.e. numerous) nation, that they will have a special relationship with Yahweh their G-od, and that they shall take possession of the land of Canaan. Against this, Numbers also demonstrates the importance of holiness, faithfulness and trust: despite G-d's presence and his priests, Israel lacks faith and the possession of the land is left to a new generation. The book has a long and complex history, but its final form is probably due to a Priestly redaction (i.e., editing) of a Yahwistic original text some time in the early Persian period (5th century BCE)..The term "Rosh Hashanah" does not appear in the Torah. Leviticus 23:24 refers to the festival of the first day of the seventh month as "Zikhron Teru'ah" ("[a] memorial [with the] blowing [of horns]"); it is also referred to in the same part of Leviticus as 'שַׁבַּת שַׁבָּתוֹן' (shabbat shabbaton) or penultimate Sabbath or
meditative rest day, and a "holy day to G-d"...

Lightbulb 23 Wall ST

Quote:
23 Wall Street or "The Corner", is an office building formerly owned by J.P. Morgan & Co. – later the Morgan Guaranty Trust Company – located at the southeast corner of Wall Street and Broad Street, in the heart of the Financial District in Manhattan, New York City..Designed by Trowbridge & Livingston and built in 1913, the building was so well known as the headquarters of J.P. Morgan & Co. – the "House of Morgan" – that it was deemed unnecessary to mark the exterior with the Morgan name.. The building is known for its classical architecture and formerly for its well-appointed interior, including a massive crystal chandelier and English oak paneling, but, overall, is more notable for its history than its architecture..Even though property prices in the area were very high, the Morgan building was purposely designed to be only four stories tall; the contrast to the surrounding high-rises is reinforced by the astylar exterior, rendered as a single high piano nobile over a low basement, with a mezzanine above, and an attic storey above the main cornice. The plain limestone walls are pierced by unadorned windows in deep reveals. The foundations were constructed deep and strong enough in order to support a 40-story tower should the need arise in the future...This building and 15 Broad Street were sold in 2003 for $100 million to Africa Israel & Boymelgreen.. The two buildings have become a condominium development, Downtown by Philippe Starck, named for French designer Philippe Starck, one of a growing number of residential buildings in the Financial District.. Starck made the roof of 23 Wall into a garden and pool, accessible to the residents of the development..Africa Israel gained full control of 23 Wall Street in 2007; it was sold to a partnership of the China International Fund and Sonangol Group in 2008..23 Wall Street appears in the 2012 film The Dark Knight Rises, where it represents the exterior of the Gotham City Stock Exchange...

http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showt...=89516&page=44I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion..Now it places the lotion in the basket... http://www.davidicke.com/forum/showp...&postcount=164

Arrow Great Kantō EQ

Quote:
This earthquake devastated Tokyo, the port city of Yokohama, and the surrounding prefectures of Chiba, Kanagawa, and Shizuoka, and caused widespread damage throughout the Kantō region.. The power was so great in Kamakura, over 60 km (37 mi) from the epicenter, it moved the Great Buddha statue, which weighs about 93 short tons (84,000 kg), almost two feet..Estimated casualties totaled about 142,800 deaths, including about 40,000 who went missing and were presumed dead..The damage from this natural disaster was the greatest sustained by prewar Japan. In 1960, the government declared September 1, the anniversary of the quake, as an annual "Disaster Prevention Day"..According to the Japanese construction company Kajima Kobori Research's conclusive report of September 2004, 105,385 deaths were confirmed in the 1923 quake...

The Home Ministry declared martial law, and ordered all sectional police chiefs to make maintenance of order and security a top priority. A false rumor was spread that Koreans were taking advantage of the disaster, committing arson and robbery, and were in possession of bombs.. Anti-Korean sentiment was heightened by fear of the Korean independence movement, partisans of which were responsible for assassinations of top Japanese officials and other activities..In the confusion after the quake, mass murder of Koreans by mobs occurred in urban Tokyo and Yokohama, fueled by rumors of rebellion and sabotage.. The government reported 231 Koreans were killed by mobs in Tokyo and Yokohama in the first week of September.. Independent reports said the number killed was far higher ranging from 6,000 to 10,000..Some newspapers reported the rumors as fact, including the allegation that Koreans were poisoning wells. The numerous fires and cloudy well water, a little-known effect of a large quake, all seemed to confirm the rumors of the panic-stricken survivors who were living amidst the rubble. Vigilante groups set up roadblocks in cities, and tested residents with a shibboleth for supposedly Korean-accented Japanese: deporting, beating, or killing those who failed. Army and police personnel colluded in the vigilante killings in some areas. Of the 3,000 Koreans taken into custody at the Army Cavalry Regiment base in Narashino, Chiba Prefecture, 10% were killed at the base, or after being released into nearby villages...

Beginning in 1960, every September 1 is designated as Disaster Prevention Day to commemorate the earthquake and remind people of the importance of preparation, as September and October are the middle of the typhoon season. Schools and public and private organizations host disaster drills. Tokyo is located near a fault zone beneath the Izu Peninsula which, on average, causes a major earthquake about once every 70 years, and is also located near the Sagami Trough, a large subduction zone that threatens to create a massive earthquake that, in the darkest case, would kill millions in the Kanto Region. Every year on this date, schools across Japan take a moment of silence at the precise time the earthquake hit in memory of the lives lost..Some discreet memorials are located in Yokoamicho Park in Sumida Ward, at the site of the open space in which an estimated 38,000 people were killed by a single fire tornado. The park houses a Buddhist-style memorial hall/museum, a memorial bell donated by Taiwanese Buddhists, a memorial to the victims of World War II Tokyo air raids, and a
memorial to the Korean victims of the vigilante killings...

The 1923 Berkeley Fire was a conflagration which consumed some 640 structures, including 584 homes in the densely built neighborhoods north of the campus of the University of California in Berkeley, California on September 17, 1923..Although the exact cause was never determined, the fire began in the undeveloped chaparral and grasslands of Wildcat Canyon, just east of the ridgeline of the Berkeley Hills, and was propelled over the ridge and southwestward just south of Codornices Creek by a strong, gusty, and intensely dry northeasterly wind. The fire quickly blew up as it swept through the La Loma Park and Northside neighborhoods of Berkeley, overwhelming the capabilities of the Berkeley Fire Department to stop it. A number of UC students fought the advance of the fire as it approached the north edge of the University of California campus at Hearst Avenue. The other edge of the fire was fought by firefighters as it advanced on downtown Berkeley along the east side of Shattuck Avenue north of University Avenue. Firefighters were rushed in from neighboring Oakland while San Francisco sent firefighters by ferry across the bay. The fire was halted when the gusty northeast wind was suddenly stopped by the cool, humid afternoon seabreeze..

The Oakland firestorm of 1991 was a large suburban conflagration that occurred on the hillsides of northern Oakland, California, and southeastern Berkeley on Sunday October 20, 1991..The hot, dry northeasterly winds, dubbed by the media at this time as "Diablo winds..These embers were swept away by the torrid winds only to float back to earth to start the blaze in new locations. Half an hour later, these embers enabled the fire to jump across both Highway 24, an eight-lane freeway, and Highway 13, a 4-lane freeway, eventually igniting hundreds of houses in the Forest Park neighborhood on the northwest edge of the Montclair district and in the upper Rockridge Neighborhood..By Wednesday October 23, at 8:00 am the fire was declared under control,
almost 72 hours after it started...

Lightbulb Swat ValLey

Quote:
Special Weapons And Tactics is a commonly used proper name for law enforcement units, which use military-style light weapons and specialized tactics in high-risk operations that fall outside of the capabilities of regular, uniformed police.. "SWAT" is commonly used internationally, as a colloquial, generic term for these units...With high mountains, green meadows, and clear lakes, it is a place of great natural beauty and is popular with tourists.. Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to the State of Swat called it "the Switzerland of the East"...Some sources state that the first use of "SWAT" as an acronym for "Special Weapons and Tactics" was the Special Weapons and Tactics Squad established by the Philadelphia Police Department in 1964...

Quote:
By the time of the SLA shoot-out, SWAT teams had reorganized into six 10-man teams, each team consisting of two five-man units, called elements. An element consisted of an element leader, two assaulters, a scout, and a rear-guard. The normal complement of weapons was a sniper rifle (a .243-caliber bolt-action, based on the ordnance expended by officers at the shootout), two .223-caliber semi-automatic rifles, and two shotguns. SWAT officers also carried their service revolvers in shoulder holsters. Standard gear included a first aid kit, gloves, and a gas mask. At a time when officers were usually issued six-shot revolvers and shotguns, it was a significant change to have police armed with semi-automatic rifles. The encounter with the heavily armed Symbionese Liberation Army, however, sparked a trend towards SWAT teams being issued body armor and automatic weapons of various types..The Schmidt-Rubin series, which culminated in the K31, are also known for being among the most accurate military rifles ever made.. Yet another variant of the straight-pull bolt action, of which the M1895 Lee Navy is an example, is a camming action in which pulling the bolt handle causes the bolt to rock, freeing a stud from the receiver and unlocking the bolt..In the case of the No. 4 Lee-Enfield bolt, the bolt heads themselves are replaceable separate from the bolt and are marked 0, 1, 2, or 3..The .223 Remington is a cartridge with almost the same external dimensions as the 5.56×45mm NATO military cartridge...

Maybe number 23 is important because there were 23 bloodlines until PTBs managed to destroy 10 of them

Lightbulb A320

Quote:
The Airbus A320 family consists of short- to medium-range, narrow-body, commercial passenger jet airliners manufactured by Airbus. The family includes the A318, A319, A320 and A321, and the ACJ business jet. The A320s are also named A320ceo (current engine option) after the introduction of the A320neo..Final assembly of the family in Europe takes place in Toulouse, France, and Hamburg, Germany. Starting in 2009, a plant in Tianjin, China, has also been producing aircraft for Chinese airlines.. In April 2013, Airbus started construction of a new production facility for the A319, A320, and A321 variants in Mobile, Alabama.. The aircraft family can accommodate up to 220 passengers and has a range of 3,100 to 12,000 km (1,700 to 6,500 nmi), depending on model...The A32 is a road in Hampshire, southern England, that links Gosport and Alton. Starting at Gosport, facing Portsmouth, it travels north via Fareham, Wickham, Droxford, before joining the A31 road near Alton. The road is 29.2 miles (47.0 km) long from the seafront at Gosport to the roundabout with the A31 near Alton, and has entirely non-primary status..Despite its non-primary status, the road forms the main access to the town of Gosport.. At rush-hour times, the road is often extremely congested (northbound in the morning rush, southbound in the evenings) as commuters head through central Fareham from the Gosport peninsula to the M27..The A32 is a popular route for motorcyclists, particularly at weekends; the cafe ( now Loomies, formerly a "Little Chef") where the A272 crosses the A32 at West Meon has become central meeting place for many groups of bikers...

23 bloodlines Hmm...The Islamists also have bloodline's ...Robert Anton Wilson cites William S. Burroughs as being the first person to believe in the 23 enigma.. Wilson, in an article in Fortean Times, related the following story:

I first heard of the 23 enigma from William S Burroughs, author of Naked Lunch, Nova Express, etc. According to Burroughs, he had known a certain Captain Clark, around 1960 in Tangier, who once bragged that he had been sailing 23 years without an accident. That very day, Clark’s ship had an accident that killed him and everybody else aboard. Furthermore, while Burroughs was thinking about this crude example of the irony of the gods that evening, a bulletin on the radio announced the crash of an airliner in Florida, USA. The pilot was another captain Clark and the flight was Flight 23...
