WHO IS MAURICE STRONG ? .... Leading his New-Age flock to United Religions of the UN

[ Maurice ] Strong is an advocate of world governance via the United Nations,
and Spiritual Governance via the Temple of Understanding in New York City ( next to UN )
and Environmental-governance via the Earth Charter and Gaia Covenant and the Ark of Hope .
He owns a Buddist Meditation Ranch of 100,000 acres in Colorado ( right over the Ogalala Aquafier ...yes,
he is a billionaire Water-Baron ..... and Oil Baron .... just an average kind of guy )

A quote from Maurice Strong ......
"isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse?
Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?"

M. Strong -- 77 in 2007
Strong, now 77, is best known as the godfather of the environmental movement, who served from 1973-1975 as the founding director of the U.N. Environment Program (UNEP) in Nairobi. UNEP is now a globe-girdling organization with a yearly budget of $136 million, which claims to act as the world’s environmental conscience. Strong consolidated his eco-credentials as the organizer of the U.N.’s 1992 environmental summit in Rio de Janeiro, which in turn paved the way for the controversial 1997 Kyoto Treaty on controlling greenhouse gas emissions

Head of Earth Council ... changing the world from cozy to nosey
Behind UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan stands the powerful Canadian multi-billionaire Maurice Strong. The founder of both the World Economic Council and Planetary Citizens, he has served as director of the World Future Society, trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation and Aspen Institute, and a member of the Club of Rome. As head of the Earth Council, he began to prepare an Earth Charter—a global code of conduct based on global values and radical environmental guidelines.

Strong led the 1992 "Earth Summit" in Rio de Janeiro (United Nations Conference on Environment and Development). It produced the controversial Biodiversity Treaty and Agenda 21 — the monstrous plan for reorganizing the world along environmental guidelines. One of his offices is only two blocks away from the White House.

Fascist Economics ( Government and business in partnership)
Articles pertaining to the Strong-Martin relationship ( Prime Minister of Canada, Paul Martin ) by Lorne Gunter from the Edmonton Journal :
"The announcement last week that Martin was courting Maurice Strong -- the first president of Petro-Canada and the godfather of the Kyoto accord -- to be senior environment adviser in the Prime Minister's Office is more than concrete enough to eradicate any and all goodwill Martin's comforting words to date may have purchased.
"Strong may not have been present at the birth of the National Energy Program in 1980; but as the founding president, chairman and CEO of Petro-Can from 1976-78, he was there at its conception.
Strong has been seen as a business genius, even a new breed of executive who combined social justice and environmental concern with making a buck

"Everything that is wrong can, in Strong's mind, be traced to three sources -- industrialization, wealth and free markets. I'd add a fourth -- Christianity -- except Strong never quite comes out and blames it for the world's ills. He merely hints at it with statements such as:
"We are all gods now, gods in charge of our own destiny," which he made in his autobiographical 2000 book "Where on Earth are We Going ?"
part 2.

Witholding Food

Microscoping Maurice Strong
"McDonald went on to describe Strong as "a cross between Rasputin and Machiavelli", "the Michelangelo of networking" and an "international traveling salesman with buts of paper in his pocket".

"It is weird that Strong advocates for world depopulation schemes; tells the unwashed masses that both refrigeration and air conditioning are going to wipe out Mother Earth. It’s weird that as a practicing New Ager, Strong dabbles in the occult. Weird is that he didn’t know one of the largest American aquifers was sitting right under the 100,000-acre Baca Ranch in Colorado, he ran as a New Age Mecca with his wife Hanne, and that he came to acquire the property through Saudi arms dealer Adnan Koshoggi. "

"The Adventures of Maurice Strong & Co."
By Ronald Bailey Published in The National Review September 1, 1997
Mr. Bailey is a freelance journalist and television producer in Washington, D.C. He is author of
Eco-Scam: The False Prophets of Ecological Apocalypse (St. Martin's) and
The True State of the Planet (Free Press).

Maurice Strong, of course. Never heard of him? Well, you should have.
Militia members are famously worried that black helicopters are practicing maneuvers with blue-helmeted UN troops in a plot to take over America. But the actual peril is more subtle. A small cadre of obscure international bureaucrats are hard at work devising a system of "global governance" that is slowly gaining control over ordinary Americans' lives. Maurice Strong, a 68-year-old Canadian (1997), is the "indispensable man" at the center of this creeping UN power grab.
(2006...77 years old)
"He's dangerous because he's a much smarter and shrewder man
[than many in the UN system]," comments Charles Lichenstein,
deputy ambassador to the UN under President Reagan.
"I think he is a very dangerous ideologue, way over to the Left."

COLORADO BACA RANCH ( Ed: conveniently over the Ogalala Aquafier )
After a couple of years, Strong left Petro-Canada for various business deals, including one with Adnan Khashoggi through which he ended up owning the 200,000-acre Baca ranch in Colorado, now a "New Age" center run by his wife, Hanne.

So Strong gave political contributions (of dubious legality) to both parties; George Bush, now a friend, intervened to help him stay in charge of the Rio conference; he was thereby enabled to set a deep green agenda there; and Bush took a political hit in an election year. An instructive tale -- if it is not part of Strong's mythmaking.
It's not a conspiracy, of course: just a group of like-minded people fighting to save the world from less prescient and more selfish forces -- namely, market forces. And though the crises change -- World War II in the Forties, fear of the atom bomb in the Fifties, the "energy crisis" in the Seventies -- the Left's remedy is always the same:
a greater role for international agencies.

Another example of how this selection process operates was the "great civil society forum" convened at the behest of Strong's Earth Council and Mikhail Gorbachev's Green Cross International this past March. Some five hundred delegates met, supposedly to assess the results of the Earth Summit, but in reality to condemn the "inaction" of signatory countries in implementing the Rio treaties. The delegates were selected through a process based on national councils for sustainable development, themselves set up pursuant to the Earth Summit. Membership in these councils means that an organization is already persuaded of the global environmental crisis. So you can bet that the process did not yield many delegates representing business
or advocating limits on government power.
Management over " global commons "
ANOTHER CGG recommendation is that the old UN Trusteeship Council "be given a new mandate over the global commons." It defines the global commons to include the atmosphere, outer space, the oceans beyond national jurisdiction, and the related environmental systems that contribute to the support of human life.
A new Trusteeship Council would oversee "the management of the commons, including development and use of their resources . . . [and] the administration of environmental treaties in such fields as climate change, biodiversity, outer space, and the Law of the Sea."
Yellowstone has been designated a "World Heritage Site."
the greater good outweighs your rights, values and concerns (collectivism)
He continues:
"If you put yourself in a larger unit, of course, you get some advantages and you give up some of your freedom. And that's what's happening in Europe, that the states of Europe have decided that overall they're better off to create a structure in which they give up some of their national rights and exercise them collectively through the Union."

This example of the European Union, however, worries Ambassador Lichenstein.
The EU's bureaucracy in Brussels, he complains, "is responsible to no one.
Governments get together -- foreign ministers, finance ministers -- they presumably hand down the guidelines, but don't kid yourself, the bureaucrats are running things."

King Abdullah 2 of Jordan wants 3 major religions to unite -- Feb 2, 2006

HISTORYThe Earth Restoration Corps (ERC) was formally established as a non-profit corporation in 1999 and obtained tax-exempt 501©3 status from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service in 2000. But before its formal establishment, the ERC’s history spanned decades of preparation and activities – first-hand experience, reflection, spiritually grounded activism and advocacy, launching projects, networking – by its visionary founder and president, Hanne M. Strong of Denmark.

After witnessing the environmental and human-cultural consequences of an unbridled development that depends on devouring and poisoning the Earth, Hanne Strong gradually developed the concept of the ERC. It started in 1973, when she helped launch a youth organization in Kenya for street children with anthropologist Richard Leakey and Wanjira Mathai, who later became a legend in her country and Africa for environmental action. Mrs. Strong later organized two parallel conferences for children and youth at the UN Habitat Conference, where for the first time young people addressed the General Assembly with their concerns and recommendations.

During the 1980s, Hanne Strong worked closely with North American indigenous groups. She directed her efforts to at-risk Native American youth, organizing youth camps focusing on environmental restoration on reservations throughout Canada. This led to the founding, with Thom Henley, of the Rediscovery Four Corners in Crestone, Colorado. For seven years, they conducted youth environmental training in the Colorado wilderness. By 1988, her ideas crystallized into an Earth Restoration Corps whose principles – personal and social transformation as a requirement for restoring Earth – were presented to an endorsed by key Native American elders.

In preparation for the historic 1992 “Earth Summit” (UN Conference On Environment and Development) in Rio de Janeiro, organized by her husband and partner, Maurice Strong, Hanne lobbied many governments in support ERC principles, including initiating a national service dedicated to environmental restoration as an alternative to military service. During the Earth Summit she organized a gathering of indigenous peoples that gave voice their concerns and took part in a assembly of 35 non-governmental organizations that endorsed the concept of the Earth Restoration Corps. Following the Earth Summit, the ERC employed a full time representative to lobby Americorps, in the United States, to adopt ERC principles. While Americorps did embrace many of the concepts, it did not adopt a main principle of the ERC: consciousness transformation or changing the way we humans, particularly in the West, relate to Earth.

Also convened after the Earth Summit was an ERC curriculum development workshop. This led to an international pilot training project in 1994 at a primitive base camp in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Crestone, Colorado. From this emerged the Environmental Leadership Training Program for youth between 16 and 25, which in 1995 and through subsequent summers until 2001 trained scores of participants from all continents and cultures. During this time and until 2000, the ERC was a project of the Manitou Foundation (and since 1994) the Manitou Institute in Crestone, Colorado, institutions founded by Hanne and Maurice Strong.

At the start of a new millennium (2000), the ERC embarked on program development work aimed at establishing a program presence in selected countries. As preparation, the ERC became its own legal entity as a non-profit corporation, formed a board of directors, and received tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service in the United States. The ERC is re-structuring to function as a training resource program in partnership with existing local and international organizations around the world. Toward this end, it is preparing a master trainer retreat to be held in Mexico at the end 2003 to in part finalize a draft cross-cultural curriculum guide for use as a reference and transformational tool. Master trainer teams from the nine diverse countries will then initiate local training of trainers programs and facilitate the subsequent training and follow-up work with target populations.

After decades of gradual growth, during which time our collective future has become more precarious, the ERC is poised to engage young adults worldwide in environmentally sustainable livelihoods that serve not only to restore the earths environment but also instill a deep sense of purpose, meaning, and direction in their lives.

I lol'ed at this, but then I told my mom, and she told me that she had heard about this theory years ago, when she listened to Art Bell. Another theory is that the third world war will take place in Colorado, or will have something to do with it. Now I am very intrigued. I will keep an eye on this thread.

Sacred Heart Jesuit Retreat House is located 1.5 miles west of Sedalia, Colorado, on Highway 67, only 30 miles south of Denver and 45 miles north of Colorado Springs.

They practice the teachings and expressions of Saint Ignatius Loyola, the founder the Jesuit Order, a militia created to destroy anyone not under oath to the Roman Papacy, or the Papal Caesar.

Some background about the Society of Jesus aka the Jesuit Order, for those who don't know already:

The Jesuit Order is an almost 500-year old covert operations, geo-political, male-only organization, structured as a secret military operation: demanding secret oaths and complete obedience to each direct superior, which is ultimately the Superior General (often nicknamed as the Black Pope, since he dresses in black and 'stands in the shadow' of the white Pope).

The "Society of Jesus" - as they are officially known - was originally used by the Vatican to counter the various Reformation movements in Europe, to which the Vatican lost much of its religious and political power. Absolute -temporal- ruling power has always been the Vatican institution's primary objective. [Which they have to this day! -1776]

The Jesuit Order is since 1814 (see: History of oppression) in complete control of the - obscenely wealthy - Vatican institution (and its Catholic clergy hierarchy) and presently also controls various other organizations together with the Military Order of Malta (see below), such as the United Nations, NATO, European Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, various central banks, big corporations, secret services [the CIA, MI5, etc. -1776], and numerous societies and cults, such as Freemasonry ("The Brotherhood") and Opus Dei.
Denver, Colorado is looking more and more appealing to visit for a vacation, no?

I've been to Colorado, NORAD is stationed in one of the mountains, and there is a big air force base there. There are many, many mega-churches and fundamentalist Christians. Put 'em all together and what have you got?
