A ghost story that sticks in my mind is the one from the lips of Telly Savalas…

Dark Figure Haunts Visitors To Oxford Castle
Quote:

A photograph, which has captured a dark figure taken in the foreboding underground Crypt at Oxford Castle Unlocked, has revealed the paranormal does exist and confirms beliefs that the Castle is haunted. The photograph was taken on Friday 16 May by a member of the public at a ghost hunt organised by Fright Nights, the UK’s leading ghost hunt specialist.
The brave ghost hunter, who was alone in the Crypt at the time, took the photograph with his digital camera. Keiron Brown from Alton in Hampshire was astonished to see the dark shadow of a figure at the end of the corridor leading into the Crypt when he looked at the images on his computer after the event.
The astounding photograph has since been analysed by experts at Fright Nights and at Oxford Castle Unlocked. Martin Jeffrey, Director of Fright Nights stated. We were amazed by this photograph. Our analysts have shown that the figure is jet black and unusually not lit up by the flash, whereas the side walls and the wall behind it have visible lighting caused by the flash.
We can also confirm that the figure is facing the camera and seems to have some form of hood, head dress or blindfold. We know that the Crypt was used for the storing of criminals especially those waiting execution, so the figure fits perfectly within the history of the Castle. Fright Nights were granted exclusive use of Oxford Castle Unlocked in which to hold overnight paranormal investigations for the public since early 2007. The visitor attraction is thought to be one of the most haunted buildings in the country.
Throughout its dark history, the Castle has served time as a royal residence, a centre of justice and as the county Gaol, hidden from public view behind impenetrable 5 metre high stones walls until its closure in 1996. Martin continued, “This photograph tops off a fantastic eighteen months of ghost hunting events at Oxford Castle Unlocked. We have had continual paranormal activity throughout the Castle that has inspired attendees to return over and over again.

Default Jenny Dixon's Ghost

...There is a true account of a hitch-hiking ghost here in Australia. The location is the Norah Head roundabout near Jenny Dixon beach on the Central Coast NSW.
This is during the 1970s-1980s,late.
There is a rather long road, unlit, and at that time, dark and in bad condition.
This road covers 14kms in length from Norah Head turn-off to The Entrance.
The Entrance back then, was the entertainment focus of the Central Coast, full
of the only late-night clubs and a centre for various drug distributions, mainly
amphetamine and heroin. At that time,it had the only Methadone clinic operating, now has been moved to Wyong Hospital. The demographics of population has changed as well since.
Jenny Dixon, after leaving the night-club early one morning proceeded to
hitch-hike home, where she recieved an offer of a lift from a car that would contain more than one assailant. She was brutally beaten, raped and slain, her body thrown over the 15m beach cliff-face.The beach there is named in her
honour.
A couple of months later, reports of a lone-hitchhiker trickled in from the local populace that, when drivers stopped to offer a lift, she would peer into the car, disappear after viewing the occupants,or hop in the car,and disappear further down the road.
Back then,I thought it was urban legend, too.
Until,one night,driving home,from the Army Reserve base,1988,from Erina,on route to Budgewoi,I had a 440 1968 Cortina,back then,I seen at the last second,a female apparition in front of me,ooohhh,I got goosebumps,just now,I was to late,drove straight through her...I skidded sideways to a halt...hopped out,the road was empty,11:30pm at night...nothing there,no damage to car,nothing laying on road...got the chills and drove straight home.

Alot of these spirits and poltergeists seem to be very fond of rearranging furniture you reckon if you pissed one off enough it would clean your whole house?

Seriously though some interesting clips, out of interest has there ever been a case of somebody being seriously injured or even killed by a spirit?

Will do. I'll have to see when it's open to the public though, because visiters are restricted.

The Castle is very strange. Most of it is underground beneath a huge earthen mound. It's right next door to the old prison, now a hotel and leisure complex, and it's always had a dark reputation.

I won't forget my camera.

It was shut today, but I'll phone tourist information and find out when it will be open again. It looks like they're doing some repairs.

I remember climbing up the mound when I was a kid and being chased by security guards! Those were the days!

I'm just bumping this thread for myself so I can find it. I've had some problems with my user account.

I'll hopefully find time to go to the castle this week.

All the old posts I wrote before the problem have been switched to my new account. It's OK, I'm not going anywhere.

I want to visit the castle with a friend who lives a long way away and I might wait until they can make it too.

Default orbs in space

Those orbs remind me of the orb footage captured by the nasa shuttle STS crew when they were trying to deploy a satellite on a 30 mile tether while in orbit.

The tether snapped and the crew were filming it from 100miles away as it floated off. A rather large amount of orbs swarmed around the tether.

When mission control asked the crew to describe what they were seeing there was a long pause...all they could say it was debris of some kind...
