Bit of the Thin Lizzies in that track by Trespass...

Watched the program Classic Albumns featuring Black Sabbath "Paranoid"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8kYrIWu14E

The idea for this song came from when Ozzy got attacked by skin heads - he came up with the line "faires wear boots" then developed the idea into the obvious meaning of the lyrics.

Helloween's first three albums rule. I was a big fan of Keeper of the Seven Keys back in the day.

Another fave NWOBHM band

Witchfinder General - Burning a Sinner

I mean Helloween with Kiske or even Kai Hansen on vocals is great but there is no competition from them for Maiden. Maiden is just on another level.

While we are talking about killer German Heavy Metal though here is a somewhat obscure band called Samain. Found this record Vibrations of Doom in the Metal bin at the store and pretty much fell in love with it.

Samain - Thor

Mmm it's a matter of opinion I have seen some on You Tube prefer Helloween - they may not be as commercial and as but they have very powerful guitar sound (stronger than Samain) and some memorable tunes...Iron Maiden certainly understand the commercial side of it.

Manowar
The Crown and the Ring.

PS Iron Maiden had 3 top ten chart hits in the UK in 1988.

And a number 1 in 1990 with "Bring your daughter to the slaughter"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_diLy8lF94
- more than Black Sabbath - Deep Purple and probably any other heavy rock band.
