If it ain't broke and all that...

Like I said the other day, I bought a reconditioned Dell Desktop from Amazon last week and it had W8.1 on it. All the W8.1 machines for sale were sold with tempting hardware, such as big hard drives, large amounts of RAM and large monitors thrown in. After using WXP for so long, the 7, 8 and 10 seemed very pointless.
I've now put a clean copy of XP on the Dell and turned off the updates and it runs perfect. No apps, no hidden tabs and one OS that looks great!

OK, it did take me all sodding day to get the Drivers for the XP though

Do you mean to say that if I use Linux, my ISP can't track my internet activity?

you won't have the privacy issues mentioned that plague windows 10, and mostly probably previous versions of windows and macos as well. for private/anonymous web surfing use tor browser.

True, if you use Linux then Microsoft probably won't be able to know your web surfing habits, but others still can track you, such as your ISP, etc. I don't get the big deal about online privacy because there's practically no such thing to begin with, even if you use Linux.

linux is an open source operating system, which gives much more oversight in terms of what is bundled in to the operating system itself.

if you are concerned about surfing the web anonymously I'd use tor browser. this is from tor's site:

"The Tor software protects you by bouncing your communications around a distributed network of relays run by volunteers all around the world: it prevents somebody watching your Internet connection from learning what sites you visit, it prevents the sites you visit from learning your physical location, and it lets you access sites which are blocked."

I've been running Fedora since 2005.

They've got the NSA-designed SElinux ('security' enhanced) as part of the OS.

I'm not sure if the NSA is spying on me because of it or not.

I really don't care anymore, despite being a 'truther'.

If they were to arrest me for believing in chemtrails or something like that, so what?

I don't wanna live this life anymore anyways.

In Firefox (Linux), the browswer already knows where I am automatically. That can be a good thing if I'm searching for an organization that might have a similar name in another country.

For example if I type in Honda, it'll find all the Honda dealers in my hometown and the one in Canada, rather than ones in the U.K.

Arrow as soon as you start an internet connection on any

"‘Incredibly intrusive’: Windows 10 spies on you by default" illustrates the half-truths technique, part of the BIG LIE.
What is "exposed" is just a mean to have the audience swallow the core lie.

"How to stop the Windows 10 Upgrade from downloading on your system" = Illuminati mocking human cattle while diverting from the ONE BASIC FACT about Windows.
Reality: as soon as you start an internet connection on any Microsoft (Windows) or Apple (OS X) operating systems illuminati are able to access ALL the contents of any devices connected to your computer, as exposed by Prophet more than a decade ago.

Windows, Apple, X Y Z...as long as they connected to the internet they are accessible if you have the intent.

In this capitalist system you don't get jack for free.

Also I'd suggest you go one level up from the OS, to where the data is stored. For this across the board (apple, google, MS, Amazon) the data is stored on systems primarily provided by friendly companies like ORACLE. If you have access to Oracle then you have access to the databases. Guess who was one of ORACLE's biggest customers since day 0? The US defence Department.

MS, Google etc are the visible fronts for tech (bit like our politicians for the power structure). But you need to go behind the scenes.

Yep, it doesn't matter what flavour OS I run my computer on, my ISP will spread their cheeks in a heartbeat if the right paperwork is waved at them by the right authorities, or those pretending to be such.

NSA backdoor software merged into the mainline Linux kernel 2.6 back in 2003.

Default Windows XP Just Wont Die ..... Lolz

I'm sure you guys won't mind me banging on about Windows XP

Check this out

Windows XP Just Wont Die .....Lolz (6:15) - Choose 720p HD

Published on Jul 31, 2015

With over 250,000,000 users worldwide Windows XP is going strong well into 2020, here are some users still paying for support from Microsoft it really is shocking and demonstrates just how poor I.T. is in these sectors. Meanwhile XP gives 2 fingers to all the critics and doubters and just keeps on going.
