Possibly used to bring in greater drug testing for employee's maybe?

Right now my thoughts are with the families of the people killed.
A tragedy at any time of the year.
So what your saying is however long your unemployed for will determine whether or not you have a heart attack?

Your also suggesting it's a conspiracy to introduce greater drug testing? Kill 6+ people to introduce drug testing? Whatever happened to simply negotiating it's introduction in consultation with employees unions?

Sad stuff.

From what I have read the lorry collided into people at the gallery of modern art which is a fair distance (100m+) from where the lorry crashed and stopped. That would've been mobbed with people and cars that stretch of road!

Fuck me the driver must've been suffering some kind of physical malfunction.

Jeezo.

What a terrible tragedy when families are out getting last minute presents. So sad.

It sounds peculiar that the lorry careered 100 yards and straight. Is it down hill?

well, i'll be damned...page two and nobody has said "it never happened!" "crisis actors!" "illuminati blood sacrifice!"....anybody got any five page numerology post to add? or hey! about "they manifested their own reality!" right.

probably some poor bugger with the added stress of christmas having a heart attack or something. well, it is what it is. a very unhappy day for loved ones. the universe doesn't care about the festive seasons of humans. and really, to those who are affected, it doesn't matter what the situation was or what day it was, its all the same unhappy day for them.

No, they preceive that when an accidents do happen near Christmas, it's more tragic. Which it is, because the "season of good will" does bring people together more.

It's sympathy, as nobody wants Christmas to be the yearly reminder of losing a loved one.

Is more like 300 yrds
Its completely flat also
The first scenes of world war z were actually filmed in this very location, the bit at beginning where Brad Pitts car gets hit

Absolutely in shock. Most of my Glasweigan friends were here today, have heard from them all. Awful.

Sky News have also posted footage as it happened from someones camera phone

What I mean is the initial strike point to where the lorry ended up is quite far...usually takes me about 5 minutes to briskly walk that distance. I have no idea how it managed to get so far, and how it did not make contact with the square/carnival rides, as it was on course for that direction

Sorry, just very shocked at present, feel sick.

6 definitely dead. Awful

no its not down hill, infact its slightly up hill. The driver must have had his foot on the accelerator.
Queens street is just over 400mt long and dead straight and narrow. Its approx 250 meters from the gallery to the end of the road ie where the lorry crashed to a stop.

here is queens street looking down where the lorry traveled.

I know this area and the only way you could get up to 70mph is take all the cars off the road and go through all the junctions but the thing is those bin lorrys can hardly muster 60mph never mind 70 mph, and especially in a busy city centre with lots of lights and traffic.

For people reporting that the bin lorry was doing 70mph, this is impossible.
It's like a kid saying something went whizzing or whooshing through the air at a gazillion miles per hour vroooooooom.

The incident happened on George Square in the city centre of Glasgow, which is full of traffic and narrow one way streets.
For anyone unfamiliar with George Square, just google it, or look up a picture.
It's a little square where you would not be able to do much more than 20mph due to how congested and narrow it is. Red lights every 50 yards.
Simply not enough room to reach 70mph. At 70mph hundreds would have been killed and buildings on fire aswell as cars hit and crushed

Because the human eye can judge speed that accurately?

Yup, there is a difference between what speed a vehicle was doing and what people think its doing. That's why there are speed guns, etc. because the human eye cannot be trusted to make such accurate judgements
