Where did you read/heard the NASA scientist saying it may hit the moon?

Yeah I knew that was just curious to read the article. Did anyone else hear this but apparently (or so they say) the asteroid was going to come back in so many years and actually hit earth. I heard this on one of the news programs here.

So many people thought a few things COULD'VE happened.

It was not a doomsday fail - or any fail.

Are we not allowed to speak anything anymore? We have to present scientific literature & peer reviewed stuff beforehand?

Everyone who I know, who spoke about YU55, said that it COULD'VE done 1 of 3 things.
So they were right. It missed everything.

Fail this, fail that - grow the f**&^ up.
Or maybe, I should start saying 'that's what she said' to every reply on a non-prediction topic?

Either way, at the time of YU55, I read somewhere (looking for it atm) that there were over 1000 potentially hazardous asteroids near Earth. We focused on 1.

Depends who you asked. ALL the space experts said nothing would happen. It's a shame that so many people chose to believe youtube twaddle instead!

Of course it was a fail! Some people seem to thrive on the doom-stories, no matter whether there's a possibility of anything happening or not! In this case, there was no possibility of a collision. Also, the news had been reported in the astronomical press for months, it wasn't some highly-secretive encounter which 'they' were trying to hide!

Was it here, halfway down the page?
