[QUOTE=felixfelix;1062599315]A highly objective source. Care to elucidate

A manager from stagecoach told me it was driver error

I dont think the bus was doing 60mph - modern deckers are powerful but it takes time to accelerate to that speed. Prob 20-30 mph

The bit that is slightly odd in my view is that the front upper deck passengers did not see there was a problem in terms of the bus heading at speed towards a super market. I would be running towards the back of the bus! If the bus was doing 60 odd mph the passengers would be getting a very rough ride and would know something very wrong was happening.

Looking at the incident pictures it looks like the supermarket entrance canapy did the damage by coming through the top deck windows and first the two seating bays. If anyone was sat in these seats they would have been in trouble.

Not sure if the bus had cctv - if so the footage will show what happened very clearly.

do u really think this staged?

Driver error - that's that sorted. Perhaps the 77 year old was too experienced and made an error in driving into a supermarket. Fair enough.

The CCTV is invariably "not working" in these events. Let's see what emerges from whatever they are working on.

The bus was given some refreshment this summer, having the X15 X18 branding taken off and smart, clean Stagedcoach livery applied.

Only one site - quite a large and popular one. The "anoraks" tend to produce an honest and high quality photo. As opposed to the MSM.

The Stagecoach bus was taken from a depot on Clarence Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, in the early hours of Saturday morning before colliding with some scaffolding and a building on Clegg Street in Droylsden...

School children trapped in bus by flood water near York

A bus carrying almost 30 school children became stuck in flood water near York after the driver allegedly ignored a road closure sign.

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue helped 26 Easingwold School pupils off the vehicle when it became stranded near Newton-on-Ouse just after 08:00 GMT.

None of the children was injured in the incident.

North Yorkshire County Council said the bus driver went through a road closure sign and it would be investigating.

In a statement it said the route taken by the bus, operated by Stephenson's of Easingwold, had been closed due to flooding.

"We put road closure signs out during flooding for a very good reason - to keep people safe," said Councillor Don Mackenzie.

"It is not possible to tell how deep the water is on flooded roads and drivers can quickly find themselves in trouble, along with their passengers."

Dave Stephenson, from the bus operator, said: "We have yet to interview the driver but obviously as soon as we speak to him we will know more about what's happened."

North Yorkshire Police said they would be investigating how the bus became stranded on the eight-mile (12km) journey to the school.

Head teacher Phil Benaiges said: "A number of students were brought into school but most went home with their parents to get warm and dry.

"Some were upset and all were cold and wet."

River levels remain high following flooding over the Christmas and New Year period and around 15 roads across North Yorkshire remain closed.

The fire service and police said it was essential motorists did not attempt to drive through flood water

Could be a genuine accident. But who knows these days.

Could be genuine - 1 per cent chance
Could be a drill - 99 per cent chance.

The floods are an excellent opportunity for the emergency services to conduct drills - it's difficult to simulate flooding, so why not get a local bus operator to park up in a place liable to be flooded and then simulate a rescue. Why smash the window when the door is open? It's absurd

oh yeah

Funny isn't it, there was a carbon copy incident in Ayrshire when a bus, allegedly off-route , decided to park up in a low lying bit of flooding susceptable road, on the wrong side in the ditch. Hey presto, we have another drill in full swing, Staged Coach this time.

Clearly a terrible accident ;=) Note the vast over supply of emergency vehicles

They do love bringing traffic to a standstill with these clever drills.

As you can see behind me, we've got officers from both the Forensic Reconstruction Unit, but also Collision Investigation investigators. They are doing a detailed investigation at the moment.

What I will say is, this was, this involved all emergency services right from the beginning. So we had assistance from our colleagues in the Ambulance, the Fire Service and also Air Ambulance supported us regarding it.

Gate-keeping the eyewitnesses? Flushing out the bystanders who can't reconcile what they saw, with what the meeja claims they saw?

Then an anonymous and unattributed statement from Sainsbury's...

A Sainsbury's spokeswoman said: "I can confirm that earlier this evening a bus mounted the pavement in Trinity Place, stopping when it made contact with the store.
Cautious to a fault. "Stopping when it made contact with the store"? Odd wording. But perhaps the most accurate account of what actually happened? A drill which saw a bus eased towards the store, one inch at a time? Gently as she goes? But surely captured by CCTV outside the store? Or was it broken, as usual?

How quintessentially British?
The yanks have false flags with guns and for us it's buses.
