Default Bernard Hepton - RIP

The great Bernard Hepton has died at the ripe old age of 92. One of my favourite actors of stage and television, he will be remembered for his roles in Colditz, Bleak House (where he played Krook, the unfortunate landlord of Nemo), the obsequious and ruthless Toby Esterhase in Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Smiley's People, as well as a homicidal theatre director in the Midsomer episode, 'Death of a Hollow Man'. Such a great actor. He will be sadly missed.
What if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.

The first time I saw him was when he played Albert Foiret in the excellent BBC series of Secret Army. I think they based 'Allo 'Allo! on the format with Gordon Kaye spoofing up Bernard Hepton for all he was worth. A fine actor all round.
