depends on the bet.

When you start in play betting. Or you start gambling instead of matched betting which can trip you up.

Another mistake is not betting and laying the same game/race.

I only play once a year if at all, it's truly a losers game.

I worked for the company that did the till / screen rollout for the national lottery about 5 years ago, I remember every Camelot employee I asked said they would never play as it's just "idiot tax".

Anything over one go per game is indeed a tax on stupidity.
One go per game though might just win big.
Bottom line.. one go and ....You either win or you don't win.
No go... You never win.

It's easier and they email to tell you if you've won.

But... um... if you never check to see if you have won then how do you know that you didn't win and they just kept the winnings?

I've never bought a card or whatever they are called.

I don't buy scratch card either.
If I were to pay the same amount e.g 2 quids, I'd rather have a possibility of winning a bigger prize, y'know.

Here in Oklahoma they do cheat bigtime. they have the cash assigned numbers. When those big amounts are already claimed they still sell the cards until every winning number is sold. So you may be spending 5 bucks to win 5 bucks.

what was that daily one called? Was it plus 5? Anyway I tried it for one week and liked the excitement of a daily draw so did it again. (I'm sad, I know). Anyway, I missed a week and my numbers came up. Not all of them but enough to get £25,000. I kicked myself for months.

They email you if you win with the online play.

Same happens here.
Scratchcard tickets are sold until all prizes are won even if the prize remaining is just one pound and the big prizes have already been claimed.

I wouldn't trust the email notification. My mum won a tenner once and only found out from checking her online account. She never got told of it. No it wasn't a missed email or in the junk folder.

It goes into your 'My Account' too.
I have showing £2-80 in mine right now from a Euro lucky dip 2 numbers up.
BIG time winner here.
Never had any problems with 'em but there's no perfect system.
I do check online via the draw history at the end of each eight weeks when I renew my ticket too.

The way to win is to play a variation of the same numbers in different lines.

So for example on the first ticket play 3, 18, 22, 34, 38, 41
Next line play 10, 18, 30, 34, 40, 44
Next line play 3, 10, 22, 38, 41, 44
Next line play 4, 18, 30, 38, 40, 41

Do it for as many lines as you can afford to play.

That is such bad advice man.
Any more than one line is a total waste of cash.
Only one line can ever win big.
The winning line!
