In London of course.
There were a number of people from Grenfell attending the gig and was very emotional.

Released earlier this year. KRS ONE drawing directly from the Hermetic principles (Kybalion), and mixing it with great storytelling.

KRS One return to form on this album, saw them live at a festival in September.

This amazed me when it was released in the late 90s. It's still a killer.

As we await
Sister Sun's arrival,
Child stars you'll listen
To my tale, please stay.

As it was told to me
By my sister afar.
Earth her name
And this, this is her story:

Sister Moon
Hear me now,
I feel my end too soon, too soon!

My wounds
Are deep,
Gaping,
Unhealing

Can't believe, refused to believe
My children had no feelings
For me.

See
Them sealing a fate of early death and destruction,
Watch my my foolish daughters and sons,
As they
Kill me,
Slowly
Kill me,
Quicker
Kill me.

They've loved me as would an unfaithful lover,
Part-time and half-assed,
Now unmasked
Is their deceit.
No more sweet,
Sneaky thrill seekings.
Tomorrow brings
Nevers and nothings.
Ended days
For my world
And its unchanging ways.
Now,
Apocalyptic truths
Of revelations hasten our omega
My children's and mine.
Each time
My breath, skin and tears are polluted and poisoned by their careless games and toys and
This is only the beginning
Of my children's sinning.

My power is fading.
You suck, brother,
Mother earth's now a plaything
For the ungrateful child,
So cold.
Ten billionfold,
My tears.

I long for the once adoring embrace of my children
Their prayers, their care and
Tenderness
Has now turned loveless
The embrace
Now an anaconda's grip
Unmerciful and swift
Swift with the killing.

Killing is a sport
Fun with fire and my wondrous rainforests reflect the neglect they have for their main source.

They slaughter their sibling blossoms and beasts like the first murderer, Cain,
Their pure sister oceans will never be the same due to daily spoil and brother sky's choked from oil
Refinery factory smoke
Your mother earth found me, dying, note who's crying
Now.

My power is fading.
You suck, brother,
Mother earth's now a plaything
For the ungrateful child
So cold.
Ten billionfold,
My tears.

But I'll continue to spin,
Until my curious home sapien
Offspring pay the price for their sins
Against my tainted tears, my breathless breath and once-fertile skins
My sons are million-murderers.
They kill - I kill one million plus.
I never wanted to hurt my children but our creator makes me take revenge.
It's the circle of life -
Or at least,
It was.

But now it's the end.

No, no it's too late for repentance,
Accept your death sentence.
I've given you all I can.
Such beauty and life
You'll never have again.

Now it's the end.
Now it's the end.
Now it's the end.

The victims are "immortalized" because now everyone knows their names, before the Grenfell disaster they meant nothing and simply didn't exist to the authorities.

The Ghosts are us, the ones that live on, because we are worth nothing to the authorities, we are invisible to them just like ghosts are invisible. Ghosts trying to get the attention of the living, but they can't see them.

"Like a Phoenix we will rise" - This is us rising up, protesting, demanding an equal society, voting Jeremy Corbyn into government etc.?

I'm gonna break out of the city
Leave the people here behind
Searching for adventure
It's the kind of life to find
Tired of doing day jobs
With no thanks for what I do
I know I must be someone
Now I'm gonna find out who

Why don't you ask them what they expect from you ?
Why don't you tell them what you are gonna do
You get so lonely, maybe it's better that way
It ain't you only, you got something to say
Do anything you wanna do
Do anything you wanna do

I don't need no politicians to tell me things I shouldn't be
Neither no opticians to tell me what I oughta see
No-one tells you nothing even when you know they know
But they tell you what you should be
They don't like to see you grow

Why don't you ask them what they expect from you ?
Why don't you tell them what you're gonna do
You get so lonely, maybe it's better that way
It ain't you only, you got something to say
Do anything you wanna do
Do anything you wanna do

I like this. Not only musically, but also it's conscious in an sarcastic/ironic way rather than a soapbox. Another plus being it was only released in the summer.

Everybody's singing the same song
It goes "tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight"
I never realized these artists thought so much about dying

But truth be told we all have the same end
Could make you cry, cry, cry, cry, cry
But I'm telling you
This is the best news you're getting all week

Oh sure it's ruling the airwaves
What remains of the airwaves
And we're frankly thankful for the market psychology you're hipping us to

And all the hits are saying the same thing
There's only tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight, tonight
And life is finite
But shit, it feels like forever
It feels like forever

Oh is everybody feeling the same stuff?
We're all wild
Except for you
And you know who you are
This is a love song

And you're getting older
I promise you this; you're getting older
And there's improvements unless
You're such a winner
That the future's a nightmare
And there's nothing I can do
Nothing anyone can do about this

And oh, I'm offering you a chance to get even
But oh, you know very well the dialect of negation
Sure enemies haunt you with spit and derision
But friends are the ones who can put you in an exile
But that's not right

And you're too sharp to be used
Or you're too shocked from being used
By these bullying children of the fabulous
Raffling off limited edition shoes

And what's it you do again?
Oh I'm a reminder
The hobbled veteran of the disk shop inquisition
Set to parry the cocksure of mem-stick filth
With my own late era middle-aged ramblings
Every lover favors the same things
It's all "touch me, touch me, touch me, touch me tonight"
We maybe realize what it is we need before we die

And luck is always better than skill at things
We're flying blind
Oh good gracious
I sound like my mom

But out of the little rooms and onto the streets
You've lost your internet and we've lost our memory
We had a paper trail that led to our secrets
But embarrassing pictures have now all been deleted
By versions of selves that we thought were the best ones
'Till versions of versions of others repeating
Come laughing at everything we thought was important
While still making mistakes that you thought you had learned from
And reasonable people know better than you
That cost in the long run but they don't know the short game
And terrible people know better than you
The use and abuse of the wants of dear listener
So you will be badgered and taunted and told that
You're missing a party that you'll never get over
You hate the idea that you're wasting your youth
That you stood in the background oh until you got older
But that's all lies
That's all lies

It's gonna have to be good enough, I can't do this anymore, my brain won't work
