My current understanding is that The Moon is a living being (same as the Earth and the Sun) that feeds on energy from organic life on Earth (yes, that includes us).

Isn t it obvious that the moon is rotating? Sometimes you see it as a full moon and sometimes half or quarter, which proves it must be turning round.

You're describing the moon's phases. They are caused by the moon's orbit around the earth.

This short video explains the phases. https://youtu.be/tGlGUK7D6xI

The moon does also rotate on its polar axis, but it rotates at the same seed as it orbits the earth, that's why we see only one side. See this other short video.https://youtu.be/6jUpX7J7ySo

I have to agree with elton on this one , as he says the it's obvious it's rotating, because sometimes it's full other times it's half sized ....

This also proves it's not a complete ball ... but only half a ball .

Something like this ....

On the left is the full moon .. we just assume it's a complete sphere ... the image on the right is what we see when it's rotated a bit .. proof it's not a complete sphere at all !! only half !

It's obvious to anyone who's had a US education!

Oh yes oz, I like that. You could be right!

The trouble is... that on a clear night with a new moon the 'missing' bit is visible in the reflected earthshine.

How can it rotate if it's not a complete ball?
