The loss of live will be minimised, but those souls which do exit 3D in this way, have chosen to do this, in their life contract, prior to commencing their current incarnation.

Bhutan hit by strong earthquake

At least three people have been killed after an earthquake hit Bhutan and neighbouring Himalayan regions.

The 6.3 magnitude quake damaged monasteries and caused homes to collapse in the mountain kingdom.

The tremors also caused panic in the city of Guwahati, the capital of India's north-eastern state of Assam.

The epicentre was just inside Bhutan's border with India, 180km (115 miles) east of the capital Thimphu, the US Geological Survey said.

Rescue teams were being deployed to assess the damage in the Munggar region of Bhutan, close to the epicentre of the earthquake.

I know there's a thread on this already, but want to it add here too, so can keep a chronological record of all major quakes, in one place so easy to find.

I thought it interesting that this major quake today was followed by smaller ones in similar region, all at 10km depth... these 10km depth quakes are a clearly repeating pattern....

There are still a lot of people in these islands that live in Fales (or Fares in Tahitian) built on stilts and mostly made out of palm leaves so the housing is very frail and gets easily destroyed.

The Samoas are highly volcanic so the plates under the ocean must be very unstable.

this is indeed very strange..
I'm no Earthquake expert, but I do monitor the USGS/ECETI websites most days, and am pretty adept at spotting patterns.
In 3 or four years of monitoring, I've never seen this pattern before, nor this many repeatedly strong aftershocks.... and there are so many "aftershocks" at same 10km depth, over the region, it is weird:

There are still substantial quakes happening in the region... and again, all at 10km depth.... the ones in Samoa seem to be getting stronger again... I so hope and pray there isn't going to be another big quake there ...

Earthquake strikes off Sumatra

An earthquake of magnitude 7.9 has struck off the Indonesian island of Sumatra.

The epicentre was about 50km off the coast, near the city of Padang. There are reports of damage to buildings but it is unclear if there are casualties. "

JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP) - A powerful underwater earthquake rocked western Indonesia Wednesday, triggering a tsunami alert for countries along the Indian Ocean and sending panicked residents out of their houses.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 7.9. An Indonesian television network reported that buildings had collapsed in the coastal city of Padang, in Southern Sumatra province.

Indonesia's meteorological agency said the quake had a preliminary magnitude at 7.6 and hit 30 miles (50 kilometers) off the coast of Padang, along the same fault line the spawned the massive 2004 Asian tsunami.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami alert for Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Thailand.

"There is a possibility of a destructive regional tsunami in the Indian Ocean," it said in an e-mailed statement.

There were no immediate reports of a high waves.

Witnesses said residents of Padang, and other town and cities, ran out of homes and buildings in fear.

"People are panicking. They are running out of the buildings... There are many collapsed buildings," an unidentified witness in Padang told MetroTV.

The shaking could be felt in high buildings in the capital, Jakarta, several hundred miles (kilometers) away. It was also felt in neighboring Singapore and Malaysia. "

Yep. Another one in another area which I know fairly well.
Some of the world's biggest and most active volcanos are around these Indonesian Islands, not talking about very active undersea tectonic plates.

while at the same time powerful aftershocks keep rattling the South Pacific...




Again I don't think this has got anything to do with HAARP.

These volcanic areas all around the ring of fire have got powerful earthquakes hitting them for a gazillion years.

Some day or other there will be a biggy volcanic eruption at the Etna in Sicily and at the Vesuvio in Naples.

I recently read about a Japanese scientist claiming that Japan was due a RS 8+ earthquake around 30th September 2009 - this belief being due to a huge increase in ions in the air ( I think ).

If I can find where I read this - I'll edit and add the link.

In the meantime - can anyone remember seeing this article?

Also - I don't know much about fault lines and tectonics, do either indonesia or samoa share a fault line with Japan?

Dozens dead in Indonesian quake

Aftermath of the earthquake in Sumatra was aired on Indonesia TV

At least 75 people are dead and thousands are trapped under rubble after a strong earthquake shook western Indonesia, officials say.

Buildings, including at least two hospitals, were brought down by the 7.6 magnitude quake, centred about 50km (30 miles) off the coast of Sumatra.

Officials say the death toll is expected to rise.

It comes hours after a tsunami from a separate quake killed more than 100 people in the South Pacific.

A tsunami watch issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in the wake of the Indonesian quake has been lifted.

Aid 'on the way'

The coastal city of Padang, capital of West Sumatra province, is among the areas hardest hit.

Indonesia is no stranger to disasters of this sort - the ability to reach people is often criticised and one of the hospitals nearest the epicentre has also collapsed, so there are real concerns about how to get to the places most affected.

At least six disaster management teams are on their way to the city of Padang. We've been told it will take up to 10 hours to get to the areas most affected.

Vice-President Jusuf Kalla said the death toll was likely to continue to rise sharply, as so many buildings including schools, shops and hotels had collapsed.

"We don't know the identity of the victims yet, it's night-time now so it's dark. People are trapped, hotels have collapsed, schools have collapsed, houses have collapsed and electricity has been cut off," he said, quoted by AFP news agency.

Health Minister Siti Fadilah Supari said the quake was one of the biggest in Indonesia in recent years.

"This is a high-scale disaster, more powerful than the earthquake in Yogyakarta in 2006 when more than 3,000 people died," he said.

Rustam Pakaya, head of the health ministry's crisis centre, said a major city hospital was among the collapsed buildings.

At least six rescue teams were on their way to Padang from neighbouring provinces, he said, but would not arrive for at least 10 hours.

Local media reported the roof of the city's airport had also collapsed.

Mukhlis Rahman, mayor of the Pariaman District, one of the worst hit areas, said the weather was hindering efforts to clear up after the disaster.

''The quake was followed by a very heavy rain. Many houses and some building are flattened in my area. But I cannot yet verify too much. We will try to compile the data and distribute aid once the rain subsides,'' he told the BBC.

Witnesses said residents ran out of buildings in Padang - which has a population of 900,000 - and surrounding cities.

"A number of hotels in Padang have been destroyed," Rahmat Triyono, from the Indonesian geophysics and meteorology agency, told AFP news agency.

"Up to now we haven't been able to reach Padang, communications have been cut," Mr Triyono added.

An unnamed witness told Reuters there was "extreme panic" in the city, with bridges down and flooding caused by broken water pipes.

The earthquake struck at 1716 local time (1016 GMT) some 85km under the sea, north-west of Padang, the US Geological Survey said.

Reports said the shaking could be felt in high buildings in the capital, Jakarta, and was also felt in Singapore and Malaysia.

The quake was along the same fault line that spawned the 2004 Asian tsunami that killed more than 230,000 people in a dozen countries.

That much more powerful earthquake struck roughly 600km north-west of Padang.

Geologists have long warned that Padang could one day be completely destroyed by an earthquake because of its location.

Western Sumatra is a mainly rural area with dense tropical forest.

It has several national parks and many of its beaches are popular with surfers. "

... I know there are frequent quakes in the Pacific "rim of fire" area.. however, I still find it odd that there are so many clusters at exactly 10km depth... also, 2 major quakes in less than 24 hours, different areas.. whether this is all man-made or natural, it seems quake activity is suddenly increasing in recent years.... I have some excellent graphs of this, but am unable to post images, not through lack of tech knowledge, but it seems the forum will not allow me to (even using photobucket!).

The suffering in these regions is heart wrenching. What makes it worse, is I truly believe they are unnatural occurences.....
