"The Corporation" a 50p foundling, Very alarming documentary about the dark, psychopathic nature of global corporations, contributions from Noam Chomsky, Naomi Kleine, and Michael Moore, Under the spotlight: Monsanto, Exxon, Coca Cola, Nike, IBM and others. 23 chapters, 26 awards, sequel is currently in production,

Full of fearsome facts and figures, this film requires a pen, paper and second viewing to absorb the enormity of it all from Agent Orange cancer deaths to child labour wages

'Favourite' which was a study of toxic femininity as two women ruthlessly employ their manipulative wiles to curry favour with their queen

'Viking' which was a study of unbalanced masculinity through the story of the kievan rus leader vladimir who converted his people to christianity. The souless brutality throughout the movie is then contrasted sharply with the promise of a new more civilised age under christianity. Pro orthodox praganda? I guess it depends on whether it is a fair depiction of the pagan era. Personally i don't think women were so disempower as some people might try and make out especially in celtic societies but even in norse socities graves of women that were clearly held in high regard have been uncovered

Inland Empire (2006) by David Lynch (Eraserhead, Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks). A neo noir psychological thriller with Jeremy Irons Laura Dern and a host of Polish actors, presented as a film within a film within a film within a reality, multi layered juxtapositions of taut tensions between roles and realism and the interspersing of the faction within the filmic, the theatre of the rabbit hole, incorporating time transferentialism and externalising the subliminal to universal expressionism in fragmentary flashback... I have absolutely no idea what this film is about, nor, when asked, does David Lynch. Compelling viewing at so many levels which taunts the viewer to become mis en scene. Or a rabbit at the ironing board. No easy answers. No easy questions.

Confused ? So was The Guardian's film critic:

Watch it.

The film also has its own website; http://www.inlandempirecinema.com
