Default Melania Trump didn't give (alleged) 'modelling extra's'

Melania Trump has won her battle with the Daily mail which published claims about her and her modelling career.

The Daily Mail had claimed that she gave extra 'services beyond simply modelling'

She sued them for damages saying the claim was wrong, and she won 'undesclosed' figure which proves she didn't do extra's.

Melania Trump accepts damages from Daily Mail over model claims.

An article published in the newspaper "included false and defamatory claims" about her work as a model, the High Court hears.

Melania Trump has accepted damages and an apology over allegations about her work as a professional model.

The action was against Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail, after it ran an article headlined "Racy photos and troubling questions about his wife's past that could derail Trump".

The amount of damages was not disclosed in court, although Sky News understands the total payment of damages and costs is believed to come to less than $3m (£2.4m).

The article published in the newspaper and on Mail Online last August "included false and defamatory claims" about the First Lady "which questioned the nature of her work as a professional model, and republished allegations that she provided services beyond simply modelling", the court heard.

The piece referred to rumours that a modelling agency Mrs Trump worked for in Milan was "something of a gentleman's club" and another in New York "operated as an escort agency for wealthy clients".

Her lawyer John Kelly said the story included statements that Mrs Trump denied the allegations and that Paulo Zampolli, who ran the modelling agency, also denied the claims.

The article, he said, also said there was no evidence to support the allegations.

Mr Kelly told Mr Justice Nichol: "The article also claimed that Mr and Mrs Trump may have met three years before they actually met, and 'staged' their actual meeting as a 'ruse'."

He said the allegations about Mrs Trump were not true - and "strike at the heart of the claimant's personal integrity and dignity".

Catrin Evans QC, for the publishers, told the judge: "The defendant acknowledges that these claims about the claimant are untrue, and we retract and withdraw them.

"The defendant is here today publicly to set the record straight, and to apologise to the claimant for any distress and embarrassment that the articles may have caused her."

In its apology, the Daily Mail said it accepts the allegations about Mrs Trump "are not true and we retract and withdraw them".

It added: "We apologise to Mrs Trump for any distress that our publication caused her".

OC it is, almost all news is none-news.

Ad news worthy of being news, such as the tensions in and around North Korea are being sidelined for the sake of titilation (pardon the pun) and none news.

For that very point, for humour and perhaps to get people to think about what news actualy is, what it says, why it says it.

Why did you read it?

The original story was non-news/fake news and the followup is non-news. Anyone with a recognisable face sells papers.

I'd say this is FAKE hands down.
Look at her nose. Close but clearly different!

Wouldn't it be nice if the mainstream media and the press were sued and made to pay damages for every piece of fake news or bullshit story they publish. The claims list would be so long, it would easily be enough to put them all out of business 100 times over.

I think that the Trumps could be dead, or under house arrest.

In 2016, Webster Tarpley and the Daily Mail were sued for $150 million for publishing stories that the wife of Donald Trump, Melania, had worked as a prostitute in the 1990s.
They were forced to retract the stories and publish an apology, they reportedly also paid a "substantial sum": https://www.politico.com/blogs/on-me...blogger-234730

In the following video Tarpley responds to the allegations and the court case:

There is no denying though that in 1995, nude pictures of Melania were made by Alé de Basse¬ville.
These were (also) published in 2016 by the New York Post: https://nypost.com/2016/07/30/melani...en-her-before/
(archived here: http://web.archive.org/web/201801081...en-her-before/)

What's this? £2mil goes out of the UK economy and into the Trump's back pocket. Could this stuff be orchestrated? Shameful.

No way did they pay this amount of money...

In other words Sky News invented this sum out of thin air.
I guess that nobody will sue to hide the lies...

I've tried to find the original Daily Mail story (it could be true for a change), but couldn't find it anywhere on the internet.
