It's cool.

This is a Herbie Hancock recording, from one of his first EVER recording sessions, back when he was 20-21 years old. I'd love to have his command of the instrument now! Great sax and trumpet from Pepper Adams and Donald Byrd.

It's actually an old tv show theme.

Hancock, Evans...Love them. Throw some more in the mix.

Joe Zawinul 'In A Silent Way' from 'Zawinul' 1971 Atlantnic Records. The original if you can locate it. Here is someone that has done it, pure synth:

Mulgrew Miller

Keith Jarrett 'Autumn Leaves'. Trio.

I dunno if Lyle Mays fits into jazz:

Cool! Ok...More for the mix! piano/composers -

Here is another Zawinul tune, 'Doctor Honroris Causa'; the same synth guy (good taste):

The original is great and the version by U.T. Gandhi.

McCoy Tyner Quartet 'African Village':

Chick Corea, 'Eternal Child' (in the latin song style):

Billy Childs. Phenomenal. Jazz-chamber stuff. Gorgeous:

Reminds me of something from the ECM label or Ralph Towner and Oregon. This is great piece of work.

Enjoy!

P.S. -

I'm into the modern groove bop thing. Steve Coleman sax and composer (not piano). I play drums and other stuff too, this is what i like to play drumwise:
